Fleurs de Jontue Iris de Fete

Jontue de Fete is a really beautiful fragrance. I think the fragrances in the Jontue line are some of Revlon's best and this is yet another one for me to love. True to its description, this doesn't smell like any orris is in it but rather just the iris plant and flowers. Nor is there any earthiness here, as in roots covered with soil that is in some other iris perfumes. I grow lots of iris varieties and if you get to smell them at just the right time, either early morning or at dusk, it smells just like what is in this perfume. Not heady, but soft, a little green, and slightly sweet - just what I am smelling here. This isn't very powdery on me at all, but it's not fresh either outside of the opening where a little LOTV makes a swift appearance and equally swift exit. No, this smells just like irises in bloom with a little clean musk and that's it. And in this pretty concoction, that is enough.

In the front yard garden there are about 100 iris plants. Quite plain and understated all year, and a stringy brown spaghetti mat in the winter. Then spring arrives...In the last 26 years,..every year,..like magic,..they bloom,..for about 14 days...The overwhelming color of the lavender & white blooms is a feast for the eye. But the air...especially the evening air,...the air is filled with a most magnificent fragrance-birthed by Mother Nature herself. I believe the garden fairies & evening sprites captured this air and drew it into a bottle, and called it "Fleurs de Jontue IRIS DE FETE"....every thing a flower and a fragrance should be.

What a gorgeous treat! I was drawn to the frosted etched bottle with the glowing green juice and had no idea how I would feel about it. Powdery scents can feel too cosmetic, which I don't always enjoy, but something about this drew me in. Today it was warm and humid and I decided to try out my NIB vintage bottle. I can't stop smelling myself! It is the freshest bouquet of Iris and I feel like a little fairy fresh out of a dew drop shower. Gorgeous! Underrated! Not heavy at all, just pure radiant Iris.

Just beautiful. A bit sharp on application as if there is a bit of orchid in it. A bit crisper and greener than I imagined based on notes. It is not really all that baby powdery. A spring bouquet. Maybe a touch of LOTV in there. Some white musk. Tickles the throat just a bit.

I was lucky enough to find a vintage (80s? 90s?) new bottle of this still in a tester box and with no discoloration or evaporation. This is a perfectly polite and pleasant soliflore, in the style of Yves Rocher's "Desir" series. It starts out with the trademark alcohol note of many EDCs, and a surprising top of Lily of the Valley. Within five minutes a delightful dusty cool/warm Iris enters. This is then layered over the ubiquitous drugstore "white musk" note that defines scents of this genre. I get a mere hint of sandal. While there is a top and a base, the Iris heart is what defines this scent, and these serve only to showcase it. It is for that reason that I consider this a soliflore. While it is certainly synthetic, it wears nicely. Sillage is discreet and longevity surprisingly good, if only when close to the skin.

i couldn't possibly put it better than the previous preview, it simply sums it all up; so, all i want to stress on here is the fact that this fragrance is surprisingly rich with Iris which is one of my fave scents, the bottle is so plain but maybe the combination of Iris and that green color that adds serenity to the whole experience from applying few spritzes on till it vanishes

Maybe my bottle is off, but... HORRIFIC. It smells like expired, dollar store baby wipes. Something in it triggers throat ache/headache for me, which rarely happens with perfumes.

Absolutely adore this . It doesn't smell "perfumey" just floral powder & clean . Wish I could find this but lasted even longer .
