Intimate

I remember smelling Intimate during my youth, there was plenty of it around, but probably it smelled too mature for me at the time. I discovered it for myself in the early 1990s, and immediately fell in love. There just is no other scent like this anywhere these days. And most likely you would have to buy a vintage bottle on ebay. As of a couple years ago, these bottles weren't hard to find, and I did some stockpiling of my own. There are some more modern versions of Intimate out there which are a complete reformulation, some are similar to vintage, others were a completely different scent. Intimate might have had other similar companions in its heyday (1950s-early 1960s), but as of right now, there is NOTHING like it around. I'm sure nearly everything in this perfume is probably now banned by the perfume industry. This won't smell like anything in the dept. store, or in the small niche perfumers, most of which are pretty much just copying whatever trends are out there. For all the niche stuff I have smelled, a lot of it just didn't smell like anything really all that different. Intimate IS different. You may not like it at all, but it is not like anything else you've smelled unless you've been around a long time or have been buying discontinued stuff on ebay. The H & R Fragrance Guide also calls it a Floral/Animalic Chypre and it's in the same category as Andron, Azuree, Bandit, Batsheba, Cabochard, Chimere, Courant, Cuir de Russie, Cachet, Empreinte, Epris, Fendi, Geminesse, Jolie Madame, La Nuit (PR),Mink & Pearls, Miss Balmain, Miss Dior, Montana, Mystere de Rochas, Occur, Cardin's Paradoxe, Senchal, Parfum Rare by Jacomo, Parure, Scandal, Sikkim, Timeless, Trussardi Donna, Jil Sander's Woman III, and Ysatis. Top Notes: Aldehydes, supported by bergamot, rose, gardenia, coriander - overall impression is aldehydic Middle: Jasmine, modified by orris, patchouli, sandalwood, cedarwood - creating a floral woody heart Base: Amber and Castoreum, modified by civet, oakmoss, and musk. Overall effect of base is warm, sensual, mossy. Intimate is a voluptuous, sexy fragrance, without the cedar chest, tar, smoke, fake sandalwood, or headshop smell which so many bases have. Whatever sweetness you get comes from the jasmine. I don't believe there's any vanillic scent in it. To compare with some of the other fragrances listed above, I'd qualify it by saying that I'm familiar with Azuree, Bandit, Cabochard, Cachet, Chimere, Courant, Cuir de Russie, Empreinte, Josie Madame, Miss Balmain, Miss Dior, Occur, Paradoxe, Parure, Senchal, & Timeless. Cabochard, Cuir de Russie, Jolie Madame, Miss Balmain, Parure, and Bandit all have a pronounced dry character, both in the top and in the middle. Miss Balmain and Jolie Madame I wanted so to love, but ended up deciding I just don't do leather well. Azuree is almost all leather, and I couldn't even wash it off my skin. Miss Dior smells greener and lighter to me, and it's always been one of my faves, that is, in its original concoction. I like many of Timeless' notes, but overall, it is woodier and has quite a bit of vanilla, and I just don't care for it much. It is a very nice scent, though, just not for me. Senchal was a scent my mother loved, although this was long after I grew up, so I had never known the scent. It's a sweeter scent than Intimate, and smells more modern, like 80s scents rather than 50s scents. I like Senchal very much and it has what I'd call a "cousin" in Matchabelli's Chimere, which I love also. Both Chimere and Senchal have more patchouli than Intimate. Courant has a cooler scent, due to the prominent orris note in the middle, and cedar forms a larger part of its base note. I didn't like Occur enough to keep it, so I gave the bottle to my mother. I don't know why I didn't care for it, but perhaps it was just too strong for me. I'm a dark blondish person on the fair side, and some scents just are.. too much. (Bakir is probably the strongest scent I ever wore, but I usually wore it mostly around the Christmas holidays.) Empreinte by Courreges and Paradoxe by Cardin are again fragrances I consider "cousins", although they aren't that similar. Both of these are highly underrated and seem to me to be very high quality fragrances. Don't know what they didn't attract more attention. Empreinte features a prominent peach note in its top, and while it is supported by the greenness of armoise and coriander as an aldehyde and bergamot, it's fruitier than I like. Paradoxe has a lovely "sultry floral" heart featuring jasmine, orris, and rose among others, but has a prominent leather note in its base. I would LOVE to try some Batsheba some day, but haven't gotten around to it. I have a feeling that Polly Bergen's Tortue might have been in this category, based on my own amateurish reactions to wearing it. Ysatis was too fruity for me, Woman III, while attractive, came across too masculine for me, Mystere and Fendi have too much cedar for my taste, and La Nuit too sharp opening up. Parfum Rare is nice; I have a large bottle of it, but I don't wear it that often. My personal faves in the floral-animalic chypre category all are described partly by the H & R Fragrance guide as "warm" in the base. While I have no idea what this means, I look for that feature often, and have discovered that it's not often applied to fragrances. Warmth is a quality which it would seem to be one many women would desire, so I'm always wondering why so few fragrances have anything in them which produces this warmth. Woody, smoky, leathery smells are somewhat cool, and yet they proliferate in the fragrance world.

I obtained a big-big bottle today from ebay - mind you, it`s not Revlon, it`s from Jean Philippe now - and on opening the simple and not-so-fancy-looking lilac colored box this amazing bottle pops out. And the initial thought I get here is `I`ve seen this somewhere already`.. But no. The truth is I`ve seen one or two very similar looking bottles of different sizes in my mum`s beauty cabinet and my granny`s bathroom shelf back in the day when I was a child/teenager. This was the 80s, when my country still belonged to the `Eastern Block` thus Revlon or any other western brands were scarce enough and pricey also by the time they made it to smaller towns therefore a lot of toiletries were made locally or exchanged between the countries, including the Soviet Union - a lot of cologne came from there. So the bottles I`ve seen must have been one of these - quite similar, but not the same; different color cap, white label all the way around the bottom of the bottle. I` pretty much by the time I`ve first discovered these, they were at least 10 or 15 years there.. On opening the bottle and spraying I must confirm: the scent is haunting - also similar as those colognes coming from the USSR! So they must have made a good enough copy! It is a vintage scent alright, in every sense. The opening is an oakmoss blast with aldehydes and bergamot, within cca 10 minutes or so these notes get subdued and make way for the animalic civet, castoreum and amber. You can clearly make out the sandalwood also. I can`t really smell rose as such, the flowers must play a supporting role here. There is a masculine edge to this perfume in the dry-down - possibly because my nose is more used to less woody and animalic offerings..As it fades is starts to smell more and more like lipstick and powder used to in my childhood! Definitely a throwback! My partner says it`s `a horrible granny scent` - so I won`t be wearing it near him. To me because of my reference point it`s always going to be one that my mum and grandma wore, even if it was only a knock-off..Although it isn`t really truly a rich and complex scent, it does last due to the strong notes - it will be a cherished piece in my collection and I will spray it on the odd time. Someone said it before that it`s a scent you have to be dressed up for - totally true. Not for trainers and cardigan, a sexy nightdress if anything.;-)

Oh, bliss. I just acquired a big bottle of vintage EdT Intimate for a few pounds on ebay (I already have a little bottle of parfum). Was nervous of it since it has been used slightly and has no box, but I needn't have worried. It's in perfect condition :)) On the reverse of the label on the bottle, it says, "A fragrance cherished as one of the world's seven great fragrances". Quite a claim! And frankly not one I feel it altogether lives up to, but saying that it is still very, very good of its kind, and that kind is one I adore. Intimate is largely about oakmoss for me. Very well blended, proper oakmoss, quite gentle, but permeating the structure from start to finish. So I would go as far as to say, you really must love a vintage chypre to appreciate this. I see there have been many comments about it being grassy, hay-barn and so on, and I get this completely. To me this is delicious! Yes, the beginning is aldehydic floral, but not overwhelmingly so, and soon gives way to the variety of spices, woods and other basenote-type ingredients that characterise this composition. It's interesting to read that many reviewers have found it sweet. This must be the reformulation, since the vintage stuff is certainly not sweet. Dry, in fact. A little bracing and almost medicinal - but not quite. The sandalwood and amber add warmth, the patchouli makes it a little earthy. As for civet, I find it only a whisper (it's more pronounced in the parfum I think, which also seems richer and smoother, as you would expect). What did surprise me, especially considering the name "Intimate", is that my husband doesn't like it at all. To be fair I think he generally prefers my orientals to my strong vintage chypres so perhaps it's not too astonishing. Still, men's tastes seem to have changed quite a bit if this was once a man-magnet - can't see too many men being attracted by this today! Anyway, if you like this kind of thing and have the chance to grab a cheap vintage bottle I unhesitatingly suggest that you do just that. I don't think you will be disappointed!

To me this is Charlie's stricter uptight mom! I usually stay away from Revlon, for the most part; though sniffing and reviewing this is nice...perhaps I will try Fire and Ice next-that name has always intrigued me! :-) One of my dearest friends wears Charlie (original blue box) almost exclusively. I saw her yesterday, purely by chance. When hugging her warmly I was greeted by the familiar (and stunning on her BTW) scent. Maybe Revlon is not that bad after all, I thought, I must try and review Intimate soon... Similar in its opening to many fifties and sixties scents: herbs, aldehydes and creamy florals with the obligatory citric bergamot. This is cleaner and "sharper" than Charlie and is very much a classic perfume. The woody heart is dry but firm, and the florals balance each other well: sensual jasmine and cool, detached iris create something lovely yet not really sweet or all that warm. The drydown is a warm musky, animalic chypre. It is sexy, and makes you want to get closer, but never really gets "cozy". This smells (to me) like something Faye Dunaway might have worn when portraying Joan Crawford in "Mommie Dearest", or something Corrine (mother in V.C. Andrews epic Dollanger saga "Flowers in the Attic") would wear: lovely, but aloof; classy but severe...not exactly what I define "intimate" as, but then again the fifties were half a century ago and maybe it's just my skin. Even on paper I get the cool, dry serious side of this fragrance and nothing really sexual or all that passionate. C'est la Vie... Sillage: good Longevity: very good Overall: 3.25/5 Classic, classy and (unfortunately) not all that intimate for me. I am sure there are women who can transform this into a magical elixir...I just seem immune to it.

I remember my mother having a bottle of this when I was very little - younger than 7 maybe as young as 5 which would be 1970. She had a little left in the bottle, and I rememeber her telling me it was "special". She told me her Aunt Patsy had given to her.I would snif the cap and the top of the bottle - oh what heaven! Aunt Patsy was my grandmother's sister and a very elegant woman she had never had children but had married well and had been a professional secretary - think "Mad Men". As I said Aunt Patsy was very elegant, she had beautiful silk dresses, gorgeous shoes that matched her hand bags and belts, and hats that matched her coats, and she still wore beautiful gloves. She had wonderful cosmetics and wore fragrances like Chanel 5, and Este Lauder Scents. But that was for special occasions, she was frugal as well. She along with her husband had a business and for everyday she wore cotton dresses and more resonable priced fragrances. Someone had given this to her as a gift because they thought it was as elegant as she was, but she could be a snob at times and this just didn't suit her taste. when something like that would happen, she never returned things and was always gracious. She was also generous, and my mother would benifit. As beautiful, glamorous, and "special" as this was it was also very heavy with the Animalic notes - and those often didn't sit very well on my mother's skin. That was the case with this - she usualy scented her scarfs and slips with this, but stayed off from her skin directly. Not her favorite she would have liked something from Este Lauder more, but this was lovely, back in the day.

I can't even explain why I got a bottle of this, but INTIMATE has taught me what a Chypre Floral actually is. First, the way it wears: a lot of old fashioned musks and aldehydes on the top, the loud/complex/offensive ones found in old perfumes, and yes, in my beloved Chanel No 5 EDC. The top notes burn off and blend with the floral heart, I detect rose, white flowers (LOTV?) mostly, and then the strange note that I am betting money is castoreum creeps in along with the flowers. The effect is interesting and a little off putting, mostly because the note isn't used anymore, so I'm not used to it, and because it's an old bottle, it's probably a natural extract. I like it because it just smells risky. The heart of INTIMATE is really 'perfumey' you know what I mean, it's strong, floral, skanky, and out of style. I went to bed at this point, thinking that this perfume is a great exercise in what perfume used to be, and do. Well when I woke up I sniffed my arm again, and I smelled the base (which is going strong 4 hours later) and was shocked--it's a REAL CHYPRE BASE--this is what they are really talking about! Oakmoss, sandalwood, civet, musk, orris root (or something scratchy and woody like it) the combination is both dirty, rich, and sexy at the same time! I very rarely use the 'sexy' adjective, but the base is really naughty and thrilling, like you had a crazy adventure last night...woot! Anyway I highly recommend this gem if you're interested in this genre of perfume. It lasts 12+ hours--amazing! I am reviewing a bottle of the EDT. I also got a concentrated perfume oil, I may review that too.

Revlon Intimate 60's extrait .5 faceted square bottle, black screw topper, gold "R" on top. At the time Revlon Intimate was released, Revlon had a department store presence. The bottle and box are absolutely gorgeous, not like the later renditions. This is an animalic floral chypre. Its along the lines of Chanel N.5 EDC and Piguet Visa vintage. Revlon has jasmine , rose, civet triumverate but also gardenia and other florals for richness. This is a perfect example on how animalics are to be used in an animalic floral chypre. The castorum is never abrasive and gives off a beautiful leather nuance. The civet makes this warm and cuddly and supports the floral notes giving them depth and richess. The aldehydes, coriander, bergamot and gardenia add lift to an insanely animalic base. Great animalic bases should act smooth as silk, not sharp to the nose and a touch of faint sweetness. I wish modern composers using animalics understood this. I dont think people would be turned off them so much in modern times if they knew how to properly tame these beautiful exotic beasts. Intimate is a femme version of lutens MKK. It would serve as an incredible base for other perfumes that need sexy richness and depth. The opening is reminicent of Balahe edt with the aldehyde coriander civet blast then Intimate descends into florals after rose and gardenia introduce the show. Its a dark floral animalic masterpiece. I can only imagine its grandeur with younger floral notes and citrus at its peak freshness of times gone by. Id venture this is the American answer to Lanvins Mega hit "My Sin"....Sexy.

Looking at the notes, you'd expect this one to be a dirty barnyard -- musk! Civet! Castoreum! But Intimate proves that animalics don't have to be forbidding or an acquired taste. If your impression of "old-fashioned perfume" is the chilly formal elegance of Chanel No. 5, you'll find this completely the opposite, it's strikingly warm and soft and easy to wear. It's very rosy and very sweet and after the initial "perfuminess" of the top notes it gives a strong impression of skin warmed by the sun. Intimate, indeed! Intimate is so soft and pillowy that it really needs the hint of sharpness that civet can give -- otherwise it would collapse into a sweet gooey marshmallow. I'm not saying it smells gourmand, just that it smells pretty and plush and eminently approachable. It smells huggable. Perhaps not surprisingly, my husband LOVES this stuff. As animalic scents and old-school chypres tend to do, it lasts forever on the skin and only gets richer and fuller-smelling as the day goes on. You'll wake up the next morning with a nose full of Intimate -- lucky you! I bought a very old 1/2 oz. manufacturer's sample bottle of this on eBay -- I'm guessing early '60s? I have no idea what the current formula smells like, but I bet it doesn't smell like this!

Yesterday I received my large ( 3.6 oz! ) bottle of the reformulated fragrance. The bottle appears identical to the one featured on this page. It was a rash, blind buy - truthfully based more on these darling vintage Revlon ads than by the fragrance notes. I've never before worn a fragrance with castoreum, and I usually loathe musky scents. What a surprise! It does not come across as sharper than Charlie, as some people have commented here. And neither is it without a heart. To me, the name seems highly appropriate. At least on my skin, this vintage scent starts off sharply, as a close cousin of Avon's Timeless. That is where the similarity ends. Yes, this is most definately animalic, but in an utterly cozy, addictive fashion. Timeless is more about Amber in the drydown. Intimate stays close to the topnotes while still softening beautifully! The amber is there, but blended with an old - fashioned animalic base that just oozes sensuality and femininity. This could be my new winter skin scent. Not at all overpowering on me, it's a slightly sweet and woody musk of the type that says " vintage elegance". It does not need to shout. Five Stars

Intimate is a befitting name for such a sultry and suggestive perfume, a gloriously gentle musky floral, with pronounced elements of Chypre. An array of blooming white florals, namely jasmine, basking in sunny aldehydes greet you upon first spray. These shimmering florals are paired with a delicate creamy warmth through sandalwood and orris. Despite this, a punchy note of oakmoss bolsters through, which is intensely green and archaic - before developing a lustrous base of musk. This scent masters the enticingly dramatic dichotomy of delicate femininity, with primal sexual urges. I’m shocked it’s taken me this long to discover this beauty, but I’m hooked; I definitely need to find myself a bottle.

The vintage pre 90's stuff is one of the best chypres I've ever smelled. This isn't heavy or stuffy, just comforting. It opens with green notes and a green gardenia. After that the florals are very soft..rose, jasmine, iris.. Florals aren't the focus as much the beautiful sandalwood, vetiver, oakmoss and patchouli notes.. all surrounded with a nice animalic accord that gives it roundness and depth. This is clean smelling to me. Like expensive old school soap and powder on warm skin. The muskiness is perfect 👌🏻! It's also sweeter than you would think. The jasmine adds a nice sweetness without being syrupy. I have 50's through the 80's vintage bottles and they're all similar. I just love it.

Oh my goodness! I had all but forgotten about Intimate until I saw it on here! Then the scent came rushing back to me! Oh, how I loved it! I haven't worn it in many years but I am going on a hunt to find it now! It's a wonderful, sexy, fresh scent and I want more : ) It only took about 10 minutes and I ordered a bottle from a seller on Etsy...PSYCHED! I ordered this and was a little nervous how it would smell since it hasn't been made in MANY years. Well, at first i was disappointed because that old perfume smell was there when I first put it on. About 10 minutes later though, the fragrance I so fondly remember came through! I am a happy camper ; )

UPDATE ~ I've been wearing this most of the day and marveling at the sillage and longevity on my skin. Intimate has now lasted a good 6 hours on me, and is only now beginning to fade. Somebody commented that there was a lingering aroma of my fragrance, when they walked into the kitchen. Interesting! I'd been wearing this for about 4 hours at that point, and didn't feel it was at all noticable. It's still there now, and I've had such a challenge finding fragrances that really last, with equally good sillage. I think my chemistry frequently kills the longevity of a scent ~ not so Intimate. What more can you ask from an EDC ?! I'm HAPPY.....

Review of the vintage, teardrop shaped bottle which doesn't spray a mist, but a jet like a hosepipe! I struggle to find words to describe Intimate. Powdery, yes, amber, yes, patchouli, yes, musk civet castoreum yes yes YES. It also has something of a warm chocolatey scent on my skin. When I wear this out I see people, particularly men, literally turn their heads to follow me with their noses. Sniffing it on myself can sometimes make me want some *ahem* alone time so I'm guessing it has a similar effect on others! I love it, but wear with caution ;)

Not much like the original. I read somewhere the other day that Jean Philippe acquired the license to use the name/bottle, etc., but not the actual formula. I'm sad... I'd purchased this in the hope of reliving my favourite perfume that I had as a teen. I wore this in the late 80s, early 90s, when it was in the teardrop shaped bottle, and still made by Revlon. I may have to hunt down a cheap bottle of the original online somewhere. Otherwise, it's OK - smells like an old fashioned cologne. I'm drawn to wearing it in hotter weather more.

I just destroyed a tiny piece of the ozone layer with this pressurized atomizer of Intimate—oopsies! This handsome "diamond-facet" (as mentioned on the box) bottle contains a true blitz of a chypre, announcing itself with a massive report of soaring aldehydes, honeyed honeysuckle, rosy rose and white floral delirium. It soon feels like slowly getting tipsy on a straw bale sipping plum wine. Soon a powdery amber descends and hints of blushing skankiness from civet paw through, in a veil of moss and heady nitro musks. I love it.

I am avid collector of vintage perfume and I really love my animalic mossy chypres. I inherited Revlon Intimate 1950's, 60's and 70's formulations and they all have that sublimely erotic yet understated sexy skank. Intimate surrounds you in a soft pillow of herbaceous animalic warmth. In many ways it reminds me of how Guerlain's Jicky dried down on my skin at the end of a long, hot and humid summer day and I love it.

This review is for the 50's version of the perfume. It is a dark, heavy scent that smells sweet and exotic in the bottle. After awhile the florals subside into more of a chypre smell. It is divine and sensual, very animalistic with just a hint of florals to smooth it out. The effect is narcotic. Probably a better scent for the evening but I love stealing a whiff of it throughout the day. A good dirty girl scent.

Lucky me! I have acquired a Vintage Intimate Essentials gift set. Containing Eau de Toilette spray and Super Moisture Lotion. Both full. 04. As I buy and sell vintage items I’m keen to find out what year it’s actually from but I can’t find any matches online. It smells superb! I may not want to sell it. Can I share pics on here to seek advice? I’m a newbie. Stumbled upon this site trying to find out more info.

My first signature fragrance. Wore it all through high school and loved it until I discovered Royal Secret. I've always loved florals with sandalwood, patchouli, musk, amber, etc. Love orientals. I just don't understand wanting to smell like a piece of fruit.

Like it not love. It's a warm soft and powdery scent. Sillage is timide and projection is moderate. I adore the loud, harsh and power bomb perfumes so that's why i like and not love. I will finish my bottle but for me not worth to purchase again.

Spicy, resinous, nitromusky! Nostril-searing oakmoss and just the right amount of flowers. I'm in love! I need more bottles! I have a vintage (pre-barcode) bottle. It's just fantastic. Getchyou some!

My mother would use this on a hot evening in South Africa after a bath. She smelt so comforting and beautiful. I purchased a remake and it smells the same. Love the warm memories of those days.

My Grandmother's signature, I was happy to find a little bottle on ebay, brings back good memories, a warm, spicy fragrance. just right.

Plenty and Ready On first sniff, I thought, this girl is sex-crazy! This girl gets plenty and is ready for more. Granted, I was in the basement of my church, a good upstanding Presbyterian establishment, at the monster spring rummage sale. It was on a table of half used discontinued fragrances. Maybe the least hint of sensuality would be magnified in this place. So at first spray, a heavy sigh came out of the bottle, a hot pink tornado of yearning, doubtless the intense hunger, a country western style caterwaul several houses over. It intoned a longing for intimacy, so I guess somebody named it correctly back in 1955. It was an aphrodisiac for girls who didn't bother to console John Paul Sartre and certainly didn't dance with aethiests who talked about it. This fragrance says, "Oh baby, just let me wander through the full-bloom garden in my birthday suit always just out of reach while the fraternity boys lose their minds for me, all of them hopeful how they might be able to afford my magnetism someday." This is the scent that sings, wholeheartedly, with Connie Francis, "Where the Boys Are." So while it is always frisky risky, it is also a deep melodic,lyrical classic. That is the feeling, and then it calms down a little, but it still stirs around hours later. it rustles like crisp heavy silk taffeta. No matter how still you sit, it rustles magically, like harmones. People look at you. Some of them wink. You whisper back innocently, not ever meaning to cause such a ruckus, pretending amnesia: What? Intimate is very coy. The bottle was without label and no printing on the bottom of the bottle either. But the blind-folded angel with pretty little wings was on the cap. Hmm. Was this the forerunner of 60 Shades of Gray? She was not bound like S&M but sitting primly with ankles crossed, happy as a canary, ready for the next customer. Just remember, if people accidentally touch you ever so softly, so innocently, you have been forewarned. Don't flinch, be cool, even if you didn't exactly ask for it. Just like the song, Where the Boys Are, is not a question. It's not even a complete sentence, but we all get the idea. I researched it as much a I could online. Created in 1955 for Revlon, and created by IFF, says one site, but IFF was not officially formed until 1958. So actually, it was probably created by the van Ameringen-Haebler faction of what later became IFF, International Flavors and Fragrances, NYC. Top notes are listed as bergamot and rose. The bergamot is not frictional but gives a pleasantly mixed up shook up girl feeling. I admit I like the thrill of puppy-love here, for florals that are hormonally enhanced by a sizzle of castoreum, activating the stuff with animalic power. The first loud rush of the wolf whistle of the top notes fades quickly and leaves a very subtle amber sandalwood dry-down.

Boy, this has to be one of the sexiest, most animalic fragrances I've ever smelled. Dirty, dirty, dirty. Lovers of animalic scents will adore this perfume because that is what hit me on first spray. It does lighten up as the fragrance progresses, but it is always there right below the surface. I have a vintage curvy bottle from Revlon with a gold image of an almost naked man and woman on the front of the bottle seated facing each other entwined in an embrace. SEX is what the image implies. Civet, animalic musk, castoreum, and indolic jasmine enforce that image. Intimate is just a nicer way to describe it. Speaking of the bottle, just from looking at that alone, it's clear this was made in an age when even drugstore buys could exude some semblance of sophistication. (Word of warning about the sprayer though, it shoots out like a fire hose.) It's also clear the juice was made with better quality ingredients than many perfumes today. The sandalwood is real here, not that synthetic stuff used nowadays in too many perfumes. It's a nice woody sandalwood too, beautifully blended in a resinous elixir of rose, powdery iris, creamy gardenia, dirty jasmine and musk, highlighted with a light dusting of spice and a dose of civet. All is anchored on a bed of oakmoss, amber, and a lovely, leathery toned castoreum. Though classified a chypre, it comes across as an Oriental to me, in the same way Dioressence (classified as a chypre here but as an Oriental on Dior's site) does. That spicy resinous texture gives that impression. This fragrance also reminds me of Tabu, but whereas that fragrance is syrupy, heavy, and I find oppressive, this is lighter, more polished, and refined. Tabu also lacks the sexy animal elements so prominent here. I'm not saying they aren't in Tabu, just that I cannot smell them in the same way I can here – front and center! Intimate seems to be nearer to what the creator of Tabu, (if stories are to be believed), thought (knew?) how a lady of the evening smelled. But in this case, she'd be a high-priced call girl who plays the stock market by day. Would I wear this fragrance outdoors? Not on your life. I'd be afraid I'd be followed by wolves - both the two-legged and four-legged kind! Still, it was fun to experience this little time capsule in history and to marvel at how daring and glamorous women used to be.

I'm reviewing the tear drop shape bottle with the picture of the couple in an embrace. I've been on a vintage hunt lately visiting perfumes that I should have smelled but didn't because I was either just a kid or just didn't get around to it. Anyway Revlon intimate starts off very earthy and mossy green. It reminds me of smells on the farm. Hay being baled and tilling of the earth for planting crops. Aldehydes are there as well almost like a cold wind coming from the north. Brisk and stimulating. As the fragrance goes along I get a boozy quality. Like a very dry and non sweet and heavily spiced plum wine. Very unexpected but I really like it. The coriander really comes through even more as the perfume progressed. A powdery Orris comes through with hints of gardenia and a distant rose. As it gets to the dry down I get a lot of bitter oakmoss and coriander mixing with animalic musks. They smell real to me for sure. Fatty and oily these natural animal musks mix with your skin and body heat to create something akin to pheromones. I like all the fazes but the dry down is the best. I think I will grow to love this perfume. It reminds me of things my grandmother wore. And I don't mean that as an insult. Our grandmothers had taste and they knew quality. We are all so used to such sweet perfumes now it will be refreshing to wear intimate and get reacquainted with the very natural, earthy smell that was once upon a time thought of as being very seductive. Now a days you have to smell like a cupcake when around friends and family. It is what most non perfume lovers like today. I miss old beauties like these. Earthy, spicy, biting and very musky old school chypre.

I just landed two New Old Stock Vintage gift sets (one 1 oz spray cologne & bath powder for $17 AND one 3.4 oz spray cologne and bath powder for $22 including free shipping) on eBay! Very excited! These are gifts for my wonderful mom for Mother's Day next month. The only glitch (if you want to call it that) is that my beautiful, gregarious, glamorous, yet "down to earth", good samaritan, Christian woman with a heart of gold passed away over 30 years ago. I celebrate her life by doing things like this. Revlon's Intimate was one of her favorite Drugstore brands, while chanel No. 5 was her favorite Luxury brand (she "received" a bottle of No. 5 on her last birthday, November 7th. Of course, I'm not nuts...I dont add these fragrances to any kind of alter to her, but I do .wear them in her honor and because we were like two peas in a pod and adored practically the same things...wearing only white no matter what time of year, except when we were wearing leopard print. We both drove/drive white cars. We are both blonde bombshells who weren't/arent afraid to speak our minds. The only difference was she being a gourmet chef, she loved her Beef stroganoff and Prime Rib and I drove her crazy by refusing to eat meat from the moment I was able to eat solid foods. So while the whole family sat down to one oher meat fests, she was quickly making me a piece of fish, a egg salad or grilled cheese sandwich. Poor mom. Thank God she wasnt a "Mommy Dearest" type that forced her kids to sit in front of a cold piece of bloody rare meat until they either ate it or starved to death.

i found a vintage bottle of the perfume oil. it starts off very earthy and a bit green with a ton of oakmoss along with animalic notes and florals. it dries down to a very musky oakmossy rose with animalic notes. the longer it's on my skin, the more i am liking it. i didn't seem to get many aldehydes, maybe due to it being a very old bottle of oil (?) i am unsure. starts with oakmoss as the strongest note and ends with musk as the strongest.

Timeless is just a small hint from INTIMATE. The castoreum and civet, and, of course, pheromones, makes Intimate an unique, strong, potent and misterious scent. Grab it if you have the posibility, if you re sophisticated, tired of candies, marine, light florals and the tones of generic smells, give to Intimate a chance. Highly recommended.

I would also add this is totally unisex. My husband just put some on. Smells nice on him. Personally I like this for cold weather but it could be year round.

This must have been a mighty beast when first it was made, back when all the ingredients were real and natural. The first blast of this is chemical riot , alcohol, aldehydes, wood and spice and then it fades within an hour to a cheap smoky incense-like remnant. It lies close to the skin and is not unpleasant to me but is kind of like damp crypts and cellars. Cedar is in there somewhere. The only discernible listed note after an hour.

I got this one Christmas in the 70's. I remember it being punch-you-in-the-face srong. Very fruity and "thin" smelling. No depth or complexity. I recall it as being very synthetic. The drydown was smoky and overpowering. I didn't finish the bottle and, needless to say, never bought it.

It would have been amazing on Bette Davis Joan Crawford Joan Collins, Elizabeth Taylor Rita Hayworth and Ava Gardner. This is exactly the same kind of va va va voom fragrance for the sexiest no nonsense confident woman in both power suits and glamorous evening gowns. As CEO of my own company, this is the kind of fragrance I'm usually attracted to besides the fact that I'm a perfume slut for vintage fragrances that I've never heard of. I collect vintage fragrances the way some people collect antique pieces of decorative art. First of all wow. In 1955, women had the option to smell like this! How I envy them. Ah, when perfume was real perfume. This stuff lasts for hours and hours throughout the day or night and leaves a trail of sensuous longing, desire, and feminine allure. The opening is an aldehyde of citric freshness with little floral touches of gardenia and a hint of coriander; not unlike the opening to Elizabeth Taylor's Passion or Avon's Occur; and also similar to Miss Dior Miss Balmain and perhaps even Fracas & Bandit. It has a classic aldehyde pure vintage opening. Today, it comes off as grandma's perfume, mature but old fashioned, but never mind all that. What a beautiful aroma. If my grandmother were still alive, I would love to smell this on her. Not long after the aldehyde and citrus subsides, the powdery floral notes emerge. I get powder. There's a strong dose of orris and iris, with roses and jasmine. The jasmine is the floral note that it keeps coming back to. It's a night blooming jasmine; not too sweet, blooming with sensual silken white petals. I would call this a white floral because of the gardenia and jasmine, but it's not a typical sweet white floral. The nature of the beast is more Oriental, and while classified as a chypre, I consider this to be a warm Oriental floral musk. The progression of this perfume is quick, so it must be of a cologne concentration rather than a standard eau de parfum. Before long, the musky base notes begin their performance as the fragrance dries. This is also filled with other little wonders: green shrubs, patchouli leaves, a dash of grass, lily of the valley, cedar wood and sandalwood, oak moss. At this point, with woods that follow a rose scent, it reminds me of Coty's Sophia. The woodsy notes are enough to make it a chypre but on me the patchouli-floral partnership is strongest so I still say this is Oriental. Then it turns musky with equal parts castoreum and civet. But it's not the kind of stinky, skanky musk of Bal A Versailles. It's not the leathery musk of Bandit either. It's just a plain musk that can gradually turn into powder. The moss is also still very detectable at the dry down. This is a gorgeous powdery, womanly, erotic, sensuous dream of a perfume. In my mind I picture a beautiful woman in 1950's New York City, Manhattan, married, but bored, and has noticed how wearing Revlon's Intimate has attracted a handsome stranger at work. Does she dare betray her husband and forget about her own home life with children and get into a hot affair with a lover? You bet your ass she goes for it. This perfume wants to be smelled by a lover. It's musky skin, it's jasmine headiness, it's sex appeal, it's female energy. This is a perfume that cannot be ignored. And yet it's simple, quite simple, linear, elegant, minimalistic and absolutely beautiful. It's a less extreme version of other seduction bombs like Tabu by Dana or Lanvin's My Sin and Scandal. Release your inner woman of the 1950's with Revlon's secret adultery-inducing fragrance Intimate. Of course no one has to know that you'll use it for that purpose and you don't have to either because it's really for YOU to feel sexy enough to get any man you want. This perfume is in Technicolor and Maureen O'Hara has charmed the suits off Cary Grant! Even when I don't wear it I love to put my nose to the bottle. This perfume is available on eBay.

Intimate (1955) By Revlon This was one of the fragrances that made it into my collection of Orientals in the 1950's when I was hooked by the romantic escapism of such perfumes as Shalimar, Emeraude My Sin, Scandal, Bandit, Tabu, and Persian Wood among others. Intimate is a beautiful and very complex fragrance with everything that makes a fragrance full-bodied, rich, luxurious, powerful, long lasting and multifaceted. More than anything, perfumes like this remind me of better days in the past and also make me dream and fire up my imagination as if I was wearing a vintage expensive haute couture and living a more glamorous lifestyle - in the 50's! The vintages can still be found through sellers on eBay but look for full or close to full bottles otherwise you'll be stuck with the older remnants that are not quite the same. This came in a cylinder bottle that almost looks like lipstick. Revlon was and is mostly known as a cosmetic manufacturing company and not for their perfume but their perfume reflects the glamour and fashion of a vintage wardrobe with eye make up, powder, and rouge. This is definitely a woman who is well-dressed and a VIP fragrance. It smells like Jackie Kennedy dressed like a million bucks going to the Inauguration Ball in 1961, or like Elizabeth Taylor in an evening gown and sparkling diamond jewelry attending the Oscars. Such a fantastic scent. The opening is aldehydes fresh and very old fashioned with a zesty orange courtesy of bergamot. It doesn't seem to be too citrusy for me as it turns into a floral and powdery scent rather quickly. There's a creamy gardenia, and an additional white floral of jasmine, both gardenia and jasmine are incredible when they are allowed to be more fragrant and less timid as notes. Here these flowers are strong and carnal, fleshy, blending in with the dry notes of moss and musky civet. The rose and iris note give the fragrance just the right amount of powder and a boudoir and make-up aroma. But it's warm, spicy with coriander, musky, green, with herbaceous patchouli and tons of moss. This scent crosses over into unisex territory with leather and castoreum civet notes which are as animalic and assertive as such unisex vintages as Bal a Versailles, Avon's Occur! This also reminds me a bit of Elizabeth Taylor's Passion. So yes it's that kind of dark floral Oriental, with woods and spices and roaring musk. Oh, also, ladies, this is very strong so it takes a strong woman to wear this and wear it well. Too much for wearing to Church and seems suited to autumn and winter to black tie galas and dinner parties, wedding receptions, but always best when worn directly on the skin as a splash and with subtlety. In today's context this is a mature fragrance but it can be worn and appreciated by vintage fans and collectors of any age group, social class, or race. That's the great thing about perfume. It's a universal love. Intimate is gorgeous and very distinctive so if you wear this when no one else wears it, just think of how special it is!.

There are certain fragrances in my "must have" list - clementines, lemons, lilacs heavy on the bough, night scented stock, freshly turned earth, sea breezes, rain on stone and mud, Dove/Cleopatra soap, you get the picture. I remember being 16, an office junior and two "mature" ladies (21 and 22!) wearing L'Aimant and Intimate. Those ladies always smelled soooooo good. They seemed, to my gauche eye, to be confident, stylish, self assured, accomplished, when in reality, they were no more than kids themselves. Now, to my truly mature nose, Intimate really does exude confidence and self assurance. It is a floral, it's absolutely LOADED, and I mean overflowing with the innocence of armfuls of bloom, of big jamjars of flowers, not structured vases, big Robinsons jamjars creaking under the weight. Curiously, for such a flower grenade, there isn't a breath of indole in it for me, (a blessing), the Gardenia is actually fresh creamy, as it should be, the jasmine has been dipped in carbolic and scrubbed shiny white with a wire brush, and the roses, OH! the roses, scaffolded to dizzy apple scented heights with a generous lashing of aldehyde to lift them into that gorgeous heavy with dew scent, so evocative of early morning honeysuckle. I DO get a tang of coriander, which might be responsible for the emotional response this perfume elicits, the whole structure is balanced beautifully by a nice dry sandalwood. So what of the wild and furry products in there? I am truly baffled as to how such a museli of animalics has gathered this delicious bouquet into such beauty, but it has. Thankfully, I do not get the massive poop hit so often associated with those delightful civet kitty additives, and the castoreum stays nice and tame in a soft leather purse guise, giving the whole thing something very nice and comfortable to sit on. This stuff is a snip for the price, and probably not to everyone's tastes, but the older I get, the more pernickety I (and many of my peers/contemporaries) get with florals. This fits the bill for us. A fruity little rose, no melons/mangoes or stickies, at once floral, slightly musty, sharp apple aldehyde on a leather base. I've definitely smelled frags at 20x the price which don't even come close. Winner.

Just received my "teardrop" fluted-glass bottle of INTIMATE in the vintage EDT. Probably dates to the 1970's, judging by the use of fontface on the bottom. There is a number on the bottom label: 56. Is that a lot number that anyone here recognizes? Anyway, splashed onto my skin: Its debt to Lanvin ARPÈGE is quite evident, though, as Barbara Herman has aptly described, this scent is more "friendly" and "smiling" than any glowering French number. It's really very nice: brilliant oldschool aldehydes and some lemon prickle the nose, along with quick intimations of a TABU-like patchouly-amber-cinnamon-Eugenol and methyl salicylate (wintergreen) quality, and a woody base that strongly alludes to ARPÈGE. The faintest hint of vanilla. I am reminded of Avon OCCUR!, as well, but I think INTIMATE is a little more conspicuously costly in ingredients. Definitely leathery musk qualities, though, with a pleasant urinaceous whang afoot, but again, with a cheerful "American" quality. Floralcy is subdued-- a whispered dry rose-- and quickly turns powdery, supported by a warmish woody sandalwood, pungent patchouly and leathery castoreum. Maybe even a faint hint of sweet orange rind? I gather it was a 1950's sex-bomb, though it's positively chaste when you compare it to modern skank-fests like Papillon Artisan SALOME or Akro NIGHT, McQueen KINGDOM or Lutens MUSCS KOUBLAÏ-KHAN. The animalic qualities in INTIMATE seem quite well-behaved and demure. I would say that SALOME is all the ideas of INTIMATE... but dialed to 11. Smelled on a woman today, I wonder if any modern man would read INTIMATE as "erotic" or "provocative", necessarily? As an eau-de-toilette, its development is quite brisk and rather transparent, and I'd give anything to smell INTIMATE in EDP or even Extrait form (if they were ever formulated). Barbara Herman nailed it: a friendly, cheerful, smiling American sex-bomb. It will never knock any of the classic French numbers off their pedestals, but INTIMATE is very, very nice indeed. My bottle is the splash; I'd love to smell what would happen if it were atomized and allowed to kick up a big sillage.

I acquired vintage Intimate in a lovely, still sealed "Voyager Duo" set with perfume and EDT. I can date my set thanks to finding a December 1961 Bridgeport Post newspaper ad offering last minute perfume gifts: "There's no gift that flatters and thrills her as much as perfume" and showing the Intimate set along with bottles of Shalimar, Arpege, No.5. The Intimate Voyager Duo...$5.50 (In 2015 dollars, the set cost about $50: a nice but not extravagant gift.) Both the EDT and perfume smell wonderful. Vintage Intimate is a complex womanly scent that always reminds me of my vintage Miss Dior. If you compare published notes, there's a lot of overlap between these two great vintage scents, which share notes of gardenia, jasmine, patchouli, and oakmoss. But there are clear differences. Miss Dior opens greener than Intimate (galbanum, yeah!) and Intimate is a more rounded and warmer scent throughout their long evolution. I find patchouli to be a stronger presence in Miss Dior, along with a delightful suede-like roughness, while Intimate becomes more of a musky amber. They're equally animalic, in my opinion, in different ways, but you can wear both of these vintages to the office In short, If you like vintage Miss Dior, you should try vintage Intimate, but be sure to get vintage Revlon Intimate. I see the Jean Phillipe version of Intimate advertised at discounters as though it were the same perfume as the 1955 Revlon Intimate. It most certainly is not. The Jean Phillipe Intimate is a light modern floral musk.

I love vintage perfumes for that "old" fashioned smell, and my search/obsession brought me to Intimate by Revlon. I have a long/tall skinny bottle of splash EDT and a big 8oz of cologne (both great deals on ebay). I'm not a huge fan of Timeless by Avon. I found it masculine, and I only bought Timeless because of the comparison to Vol de Nuit by Guerlain (VdN is a HUGE LOVE for me, but lacks sillage/potency in the current EDT). I do not find Timeless like VdN. But... Timeless has it's charm after all, and I found it lovely in winter. Now to Intimate. Mmmmmmmm.... the EDT first... a tiny dab on my wrist. Love it! At first is HELLA strong and much like Timeless... but I find it more like vintage Miss Dior and that makes me VERY happy. I Looooove vintage Miss Dior. I can't wait to get home and wear Intimate proper. (I plan on putting the vintage cologne into a 1oz atomizer and the EDT into a 5ml atomizer). I would call this woody/aldehydes/animal/musky. Missing the GREEN of Miss Dior, but this is still a solid vintage scent. I like my vintages for relaxing, reading, winter, housework... they make me feel like I'm from another era, in a diff place... they put me in a good mood. I wear vintages for ME. Whoa. The cologne is actually stronger/better IMO when tested on skin. Nice. I have about 5 oz left in an 8 oz cut glass, screw-top, splash bottle.

I just ordered intimate, after reading the reviews, Well I'm just etting intimate with intimate, st start with it was an a very bad first impression, it semelled kinda grassy at first.. I just don't take to real grassy smells, it must be the Oak Moss, then the barn yard critters came out On Parade. The Civit Cat, Dear Seman, and the Beaver smell, wich is suposed to smell like leather, Why???, Leave it to Bevar? too much Animal Smells! What was the Purfumer Thinking?? OK Civit Cat, Dear Seaman or Beaver, One Pet and only one! the Barn Yard Smell was mixed with some Rose in it, and lots of Sedar Chips, wich smelled like Pencil shavings? I was waiting for more powery smells spices and white flowers like jasmine and gardenia, the like my beloved Tojour Moi, I even forgave after the stiky first spray smell, however the stinky of first pray smell,lasted a few minutes then it was Heavenly with Tojour Moi, the first spray stink with Intimate lasted a bit longer, ok next morning the dry down smell was plesent, the Animals went away, with the Pencil Shavings and the Grassyness and I got a bit more sweet from Initimate, but you still couldn't get enough jasmine gardinia or sweet powdery sents and spices as my previous perfume. I'll give Inimate a bit of a chance since it's new for us to get usto each other, but I'll probably stick to Tojour Moi.

I have so many bottles of intimate. I own many of the standard colognes, along with many of the concentrated colognes, many different bottled versions of the toilette, along with the eau de parfum, and the oil version. (All vintage, none of that Jean Philippe crap) I've noticed that the aldehydes in the cologne version are way stronger than in any other formulation. it's like a swift slap across the face, but in a good way. If you want the cologne to last the longest I suggest spraying it on your clothes. The eau de parfum is so elegant. The aldehydes are softer, it lasts so so long on my wrists. What I get from my bottle is the soft aldehydes at the top then it transitions to the amazing drydown. I have noticed in my oil version, that the citrusy bergamot is more prevalent in the top notes. The citrus fades to the amazing intimate dry down, I love it. I always layer all the different concentrations that I have so I can get the max effect, so it will also last a lot longer. I start off using the oil, then spray the eau de parfum, and the eau de toilette, the the concentrated cologne, along with the regular cologne. Now this may seem Overkill to some, but to me it is just splendid and it lasts forever this way.

How strange this wonderful vintage perfume is! I get slightly different smells with each version/bottle! And I am talking about the Revlon ones! I don't think it's the formula/reformulations... I believe this ages differently. Today I got a 4 oz Revlon cologne and it's a LOT like the damp greenery/moss of Mitsouko! (also like the pine-green-moss I got from the Jean Phillipe version) These smell the most dated IMO. Like an old basement-- in a good way! I got a 8 ounce cologne (1/2 full) off ebay with a purple cap and that smells really citrusy and aldehydic with florals. (The top notes last until the perfume is no longer detected on skin, so I'm thinking this Revlon cologne is newer and therefore the top notes are still fresh? Or else this one was stored better?) The vintage EDT and some colognes (cut glass bottle, gold cap) smell just like Miss Dior vintage. I believe these bottles to by my oldest. Very 60s. All I know is... I like each one very much! And when I see Revlon Intimate on ebay for a great price-- I snag it! A vintage EDP (huge bottle) hasn't come yet... I will add/edit this entry to review that as well. If anyone needs an Intimate expert-- just message me! Haha!

This was very popular in the 1960s. It was floral powdery with a bit of spice. It was a good bath product scent too. I remember the smell from my mother and other people having it around. It was not expensive and was often marketed in fancy bottles. I think it was supposed to be sexy but it was more like a baby powder comforting scent. I have vintage bottles of it in my collection for fun. It's not something that I would wear out though. It reminds me of my mother since she had bottles of it around that she got as gifts. The filigree bottles were very pretty and probably sold the perfume. It wasn't a sensational perfume but it was nice. It was the type of perfume women used to wear in the sixties before the power perfumes of the 80s and 90s. Styles do change over the years, that's for sure. The next decades brought things like Charlie and Exclamation. Intimate is sweet and nostalgic by comparison. Okay, maybe not everybody liked Intimate, but it was $1.50 for an 8oz bottle back then. You couldn't expect Shalimar or Chanel no 5 at that price.

I’ve just bought a half bottle of 1960’s Revlon “Intimate” from eBay . It was my first proper scent as a teenager in the 1970’s . WOW - is all I can say , I cannot remember it smelling this good but I must have smelled like a goddess back in the day . Once the alcohol propellant has worn off , I’m left with a woody , soft rose underpinned with a musk that is both clean and also a bit raunchy . It’s much more interesting than Miss Dior which was another famous chypre of much the same vintage , it’s absolutely gorgeous and much, much better than I expected it to be . I’m not sure what the reformulation is like but Miss Dior has become rather a bony little fragrance with not much heart - this could certainly give it a run for the money for those who love a 1950’s vibe chypre but refuse to pay megabucks for the weak little EDT that Dior are currently peddling. Delightful - like stepping back in time into a movie filmed with Eastman- Kodak . 😁

Im so disapointed I did not the same response from Intimate as other folks with more plesent reactions to it, I'm realy disapointed that I did not purchase another tried and ture sent that I know works for me, since I opened the bottle and sprayed it on getting it from mail order I can't send it back. The Promonant Smell on me Is Grassy, then the Animals, I slightly Smelt the Amber but Grassy Smell is probably from the Oak Moss, which took Most of the Sweet sent out of the Amber robed the sweet out of the the Musk and the slight sent of Rose. I could have used the 15 dollars I wasted to smell like a grassy stinkey barn yard, covered up tbe the sent of cedar chips and a slight sent of rose that even the amber couldn't mask, I keep on spraying it on thinking Intimate and I would finally get along, so sorry Folks Pe-U. I didn't get Enough of the of the Gardena Jasmine Sandlewood or even the Rose to make this sent experience a Pleasent One.

Testing today a .5 oz splash EDT, from the 50s or 60s. This is a nice old one...I love it. I think my Grandma maybe wore it, or someone else I loved because it reminds me of someone good. I cannot make out the different notes but these olds ones are very different in that they dont throw out masses of aromachemicals at you from feet away. This is quite dry, and somewhat woody.and loaded with animal scents. There is no cloying musk though. It does smell typical of a vintage perfume. I think it is the aldehydes that make it sparkle a little. This perfume both reminds me of others and does not remind me of others at the same time, if that can be. If you like or are neutral to Chanel No 5., you would like this likely. I like it much better than Chanel No 5, but then again, I dont love Chanel No 5...This perfume has punch but it still quite subtle. Today getting an Early Cachet vibe,,,,

I was never a big fan of Intimate many years ago in my teens mainly because an older co-worker used to drown herself in it, but I did have family and friends who wore it. I recently bought the Jean Philippe version for a song online. On first spray I recognised it immediately. Like some ladies here I don't have the Revlon version to make a comparison, but the old bones of Revlon Intimate are still there. And "granny"? Nah. My holy grail chypre is the original vintage Miss Dior which is now out of my reach at exorbitant prices for partial bottles, so JP Intimate is now my chypre substitute. I love it and will wear it anytime, anywhere. I am not one to keep fragrances for just daytime, nighttime or special occasions. If I love it I will wear it anytime full stop. Longevity is amazing, like 12 hours on my skin. If you haven't smelled Intimate in years I think you'll like JP Intimate.
