Love Is On

I saw this at a discount store once and grabbed a roller ball for almost nothing, because after finding a couple of my lifetime favorite scents as blind buys for an absolute steal- I'm always convinced that the next one is just waiting for me on a clearance shelf at TJMaxx...(Aquolina Chocolovers, you left us too soon!) Anyway. I actually hate rollerballs, but when they're so inexpensive I find they're great to try something you might like- easy to give away or stash in a glovebox or desk drawer, or whatever. I prefer to really surround myself in a fragrance. I'm going to be like my gram, one day, with people passing out in the wake of my Youth Dew cloud...(I'm determined to love Youth Dew in her honor one day- that time is not now, but someday, I hope!) I stumbled across a review for this last week, and decided I really should track down a bottle of it while it was still around. This scent is lovely. It's way more complex to my modest nose than the listed notes indicate that it should be. It smells very warm to me. It's sweet and kind of gourmand and slightly spicy, and a little fizzy? Do I smell cola? Maybe a cola concentrate? It's nice! (To be fair- I am always searching for a cola or a root beer note in everything. Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm smelling what I wish to smell more than what's there? But this is a non typical spice to me. It's not cinnamon. I do sense the lemons. They're absolutely perfectly located in the heart of the scent. Honestly, I am delighted at how much I love this very inexpensive perfume in a bottle I don't love (I like it in its box, but it feels kind of goofy outside of the red box? And I'm someone who bought Moschino's Fresh! For the bottle!! So you see I'm a walking contradiction...) I recommend this to anyone who wants to smell WARM, but not cinnamony; expensive, but without spending much at all, and unique, because I really can't compare this to anything and I have a pretty significant collection. I might call her a distant and eccentric cousin of the Mugler clan? Maybe an art teacher? My ONLY complaint is that it's not as strong as I want it to be? I'd like a larger bottle, because I keep refreshing and it'll soon be gone! It has okay longevity on my clothes, but not much on my skin. It dries down almost to a cocoa powder on my arm? I like it. I want a cloud of it surrounding me. This is a safe bet for you classier folks who want a nice scent but who don't want to be able to taste it? It's got all the luxury of a powerful oriental scent. It's gorgeously subtle, but still distinct. This would smell great on a man. I wouldn't call it masculine or cologne-y at ALL- but I would say 100% unisex- in fact I think if my husband put this on, I'd not be able to leave him alone. Nice job, Revlon. Keep it up! I'll buy more.

For a Revlon perfume, this smells very rich and strong. You would not think this is a cheap perfume at all. The scent is very warm and there's a little bit of gourmand note to it. I hope they did not discontinue this because this is one of my favorite scents of all time. It also lasts very long. The price is so worth it! I love the smell of vanilla, caramel, and berries in this. I can still smell the perfume on my clothes after a long day! Also, this is a "heavy" smelling perfume. Not for summer or spring season. For me, this is the best fragrance out of all the Revlon perfumes and it has the best bottle design too. The bottle is so nice to display on the shelves and it's so eccentric. Vibe: The kind of perfume you would wear to a cozy cocktail event in autumn or winter.

Gah. Bad blind buy for me, I was suckered in by the bottle and talk of 'lemons and berries'. Smells cheap and dated - 90s? Is interesting to start, quickly settles into a one dimensional slightly masculine smell. I wouldn't call it musky, can't quite put my finger on it but it's like something from a cheap shower gel. Edit: Same day. After all that, it's growing on me! I really love the first accord and there's a warm feeling to it all, I keep reapplying and sniffing it. .. Edit: It's mid October now. I love this perfume! Find I keep reaching for it, it has a nice heart to it, unusual, and a rich and 'slinky' base! I actually love the bottle, a beautiful rich red. Looking forward to wearing Love is On in cold weather and might get a back up bottle.

This is a gorgeous fragrance and I haven't been this excited about a perfume in a long time. I must admit I am a Rose/Musk lover and this fits me perfectly. Lots of Rose, Vanilla, Musk, Amber and a spicy mix of Cardamom, Sandalwood and Ginger. I'm not getting the lemon or the berries, which makes me query the list of notes above. Love the bottle but it is a little difficult to handle when spraying, you have to turn the nozzle to get into a comfortable position to spray. Longevity on me is good, 12hrs+ and lots of compliments. If you love warm, sweet, musky rose fragrances like me, you will love this.

I just bought this today from Priceline for 30 dollars and I have had a smell of this and I really like it,the notes that I smell in this are the lemon,berries and vanilla with the bit of a woody note coming from the sandalwood,after a while the vanilla is more prominent and the berries are still there,I have noticed that the bottle for this is the same as revlons older perfume rouge but overall I really like this perfume and glad revlon has released a new perfume since its been a while since their last release.

I agree with many of the reviewers here, the notes listed seem a little odd, compared to what im sensing when i tried this new fragrance. Its a gorgeous, romantic, evening scent, with rich berries and vanilla, roses and im getting some brandy scent as well - not heavy, but mellow and beautifully blended. Nice new addition thats perfect for valentines day.

I love, love, love this. It's an edible musk lemon and raspberry without being too sweet. It reminds me of the Peter's Lemonade Icy Poles we have here in Australia...it sort of smells how they taste and reminds me of summer.

This is so simple and yet I legitimately love this scent. It's sweet and summery and innocent. Unfortunately it doesn't last at all and sits way too close to the skin for my liking.

I found one at Target on sale for $18 last night. The bottle is beautiful.

I found this at Big Lots, of all places. It became a birthday gift to me. I can see why people say it reminds them of Hypnotic Poison. I love Hypnotic Poison, and this is distantly reminiscent, but to me, not as nice. It shares a "warm" quality. It's that play doh scent, or almond like scent, maybe. I find this Revlon perfume to wear pretty well, and it seems to last okay too. It doesn't have huge projection, but I can definitely notice it. I'm a huge gourmand perfume lover, and this definitely is in that category. On me, I don't get a ton of citrus. It's mostly just sweet, nutty, play doh scent on me.

I only bought this as part of a Revlon deal - it's amazing. Definitely has light musky vanilla but not overpowering and compliments so well with the berries. I didn't pick the lemon at first but it does have a freshness that makes it not sickly like some vanilla fragrances. I sprayed a small bit on my arm while Xmas shopping and kept getting whiffs of it throughout the day. Perfect for work. The only perfume my husband has commented on! He thinks it's non offensive and would be happy to smell it all day.

Very nice, just happened to been strolling through Walgreens && came across it. Spritzed a bit in the air && the 'Love was on' ;) spritzed a bit on my had love loved it so I did a full body spray down. It's so light & airy but the musk really helps it last. I I agree I picked up a bit of vanilla which I don't see listed but I'm sure is there.. lover of sweet && vanillas scents && musks I see why I took a liking to this. Very nice! for the price might have to snag up a bottle.

I stumbled across this in my stash the other day and thought I would give it a whirl! Wow. My chemistry loves this. It's simple -- berries and just the perfect amount of lemon. A few of you stated that it is 'warm' and yes!! It is. It's truly a forgotten gem. If you have this, pull it out and try it again. You might be pleasantly surprised at how good it is!! It's pretty ok, it starts out with a quick not long lived at all blast of citrus and some floral but ends up with a light musk that is pleasant. Nothing all that new or ground breaking but nice all the same.

To my nose, this opens up with a mixture of red berries and BO. Then, after a few minutes, the BO goes away and the red fruits remain. It is so good after that uncomfortable initial blast.

This smells mainly of lemon and vanilla to me, like a lemon pastry. Sweet but not overly, could be worn day or night. It's quite nice, if it goes on sale I would purchase it.

I tested a few days ago. I liked it. I feel it's a feminine, elegant, winter fragrance and see it as a vintage composition. Liked it.

It is fresh and clean, no offensive for work.

I smell vanilla musk,lemon. Beautiful.

first impression is very very sweet, like lemon icing and berry soda. the lemon sharpens the berry and keeps it from becoming too syrupy but it remains extremely sugary. overall quite bright, almost fizzy. a happy, fun scent. on paper the berry side comes through more but once on my skin it quickly becomes straight lemon cake. i like gourmand scents but since this is so simple and linear it doesn't even smell like a perfume inspired by food i literally just smell like an actual dessert. maybe lemon icing on a jelly donut. I don't dislike it but it's a little juvenile, definitely not for anyone looking for something that sophisticated or layered. I'd describe it as "cute" almost to the point of being a bit silly. I can definitely see someone younger really liking this, but honestly this could have a time and place for people of different ages, just don't take it that seriously. it's something i would spritz on at the last minute before leaving the house off to do something like hitting the beach or pool or a road trip with friends. feels quite summery for me, something that would be in place mingling with sunblock, popsicles and fresh air. it smells nice in the way that shampoos and lip glosses smell nice, just don't ask it to be much more than that. this scent isn't really meant to be the star of the show, it's something pretty to spray on when you're having too much fun to think about what to wear, both in terms of fragrance and clothing. the bottle is cute but again, a little childish. i can imagine it being thrown in a bag and living among lip balms and body sprays and dry shampoos, more for a day out than a night out. definitely too simple for a signature and i don't think it will be in particularly high rotation in my collection but I do like it and will keep it on hand for when the right mood strikes. smells like a nice body spray but with stronger projection and better longevity, but like i said it's something that can be pulled out of a bag and reapplied as needed as it's pretty inexpensive. a safe blind buy as that's how i got it and i'm pretty happy with my purchase.

this smell exactly like amor amor fro cacharel to me.I used to love Amor Amor when i was in my early twenties but now i feel this is way to young for me.I think it's a great perfume for teens.

I get a HUGE citrus opening, then a vanilla musk drydown. It's Amor Amor with the playdough vanilla of Hypnotic Poison, and it WILL NOT COME OFF. I don't know what they're talking about with the rose and the spices in the official description, but I get none of it. I wish I did--then maybe this would be wearable. But it's awful.

Sharp and sweet. A little bit over the top to me as it knocks the air out of the room for a minute. Dries down fine though. My daughters all love the bottle look. I'll probably just put it on a shelf in their room and hope no one overdoes it.

I remember really liking the initial scent of this - the citrus and cranberries made for a gorgeous combination that made me feel pretty. I ended up buying it and was unhappy with the longevity. I really wanted to like this more...

Surprised to see lemon here because I do not smell any citrus. This is a heavy smell of something very sweet and heavy.

I totally agree with the first part of Truffles's review. This perfume smells cheap, dated (80s perhaps) and a bit masculine. It has an unusual smell and I can't decipher the Italian Lemon or the Red Berries listed for it on this page. I scrolled down the reviews and see that one reviewer has said those notes are wrong and that this perfume contains cardamon, vanilla and musk, as well as other notes. I certainly don't detect any vanilla in this perfume, nor musk, but maybe it's heaviness comes partially from the cardamon. Had I known it contained a note like that I would have steered clear of blind buying a tester bottle of it as I hate heavy, spicy perfumes and lean more towards lighter, fresher fruity floral / herby types, When I first got my bottle of this yesterday I sniffed the neck and it seemed 'interesting', not necessarily something I would ever fall in love with but maybe a scent that would grow on me. Later, I applied a small spritz of it on my wrist. OMG, it's HEAVY and STINKY and I knew it was going to stick to me like glue - the stink bombs always do and they cling on for dear life no matter how hard you desperately try to scrub them off! I could only stand the smell for a minute or so, it started to make me feel queasy and I rushed to wash it off. Even then, I couldn't get rid of the smell. So, I had to do a second desperate wash of my wrists, then applied some baby lotion in hopes that would make the smell go away. Only that partially worked! My perception of this perfume is that it's VERY potent (despite some reviewers saying it fades fast - maybe on their skin it does but on my skin it wouldn't go away!), it smells cheap, synthetic, make-up'ish, too perfume'y and just a mishmash of undecipherable notes. So, sadly, for me it was a very bad blind buy but I'm glad at least I paid very little for my tester bottle but still, that was like throwing money down the toilet! Will I never learn a lesson from being taken in by perfume note listings and positive reviews for some perfumes that make me think they may be worth blind buying online in hopes that at least one of those could become my 'signature' scent? Apparently not and I know from my most successful and beautiful blind buy a few years ago of a bottle of Escada 2005 (which I fell in love with at first sopritz and it could so easily have been an all-time favourite but, tragically, I didn't realize it was being discontinued so I was never able to get it again) that it can be worth winging it, taking a chance and going for a blind buy. This stink bomb though is one of my failures, sadly! P.S. How can some reviewers claim this perfume is "gorgeous". Ugh, it's anything but ! !

Getting a Britney Spears vibe. Radiance? Just me maybe bc Revlon now owns B. Red berries tend to think not my bag. Also not so into citrus. So why? Blind buy a lot and always find a way to like a budget type fragrance. I'm not so impressed by designers and I can easily afford them and do from time to time. But the kid in me is programmed to delight over drug store types. That's why. That said, I really like this. The 1980s seemed to load as many notes as possible into a bottle. Now trends are much simpler like this. When perfume was new .. ancient .. it was also usually only one note. Floral. This doesn't smell cheap. It's how you wear it. Great little day perfume. Not as sweet as Radiance but really how many notes does our nose need? Personally, I love both the loaded and light offerings. For what it is it can be what you make it. That's the magic of perfume. For the same price you get way more perfume oil here than in any body spray which is watered down way down. Those are a waste of money, friends. Seem like a deal but buy a budget gem from like Ebay and don't be afraid to have a scent.

The notes listed just can’t be correct. It’s got more going on, which is why I think it smells a bit like a fresher and less show-offy version on Amor Amor. Yes it’s citrusy and yes there are berries but it’s musky, there’s definitely rose and 100% this is full of vanilla. I went and found revlons description.... Enticing top notes: Italian lemon with sweet berry and velvety rose Stimulating core: Cardamom and ginger with exotic sandalwood Seductive melt down: Vanilla infused musk with sparkling amber So yeah..... it’s amor amor summer edition basically! Not as strong and a bit more fruity, but almost a dupe to my nose. I bought this hoping for sweet berry and lemon syrup but it’s a rosey, vanilla fruity scent so I can’t wear it. If you like amor amor for evenings but it’s a bit too much of a beast during the day, this might be a good option for daytime wear as it’s lighter but very similar. You could absolutely wear them on the same day! I got a 50ml tester for £4 so it’s a real steal compared to the already inexpensive amor amor!

I will never forget when this fragrance came out. I had gone into my local Walgreens and noticed a beautiful red bottle on display. So I took it upon myself to go and smell it. This smelt like heaven to my nose. The scent was so luscious and beautiful. So I made the decision to spray it all over my body and my wrists to see how it would wear. It wore very well. It lasted about 5-6 hours on my skin. I loved that perfume so much that I sprayed it every time that I went into Walgreens. And the tester ended up running out because I sprayed it all the time. So I ended up buying a bottle and I enjoyed owning it. Until I noticed that it wasn't wearing as well as the tester did. Now I was curious that maybe the juice in the testers is more potent than the ones in the bottles that we purchase. That must be how they get us. Well now onto the scent. I get red berries with a hint of a citrus note. Sillage: 3/10 Longevity: 3/10 Uniqueness: 6/10

The notes listed here are pretty far from accurate. According to Revlon, it contains mostly rose, spices, including cardamon, vanilla, and musk, and you can definitely smell all those in it. Personally I like it, and when you take the price into account, it becomes all the more impressive. I doubt anyone will jump for joy and scream "this is the signature I've waited for all my life!" but it's pretty darn good. Sillage and longevity are typical for the price range. Whether you love rose and want something warmer for winter, or are a vanilla lover like me, and want something a tad different, it's a good pick. The notes here are your basic crowd-pleasers, and I don't see anything wrong with that, sometimes it's nice for a perfume to just smell good, and leave the complexity to someone else. The bottle is a silly hot-pink plastic heart, ala 1985, I wish I could swap for something else, but you can't have everything.

I agree with a few of the previous reviewers who said it was "underwhelming" and "lasted about 3 minutes". I first tested this when it was released about a year ago...so light, almost undetectable, then gone. That brief whiff did smell good, though. Then, I hadn't seen this around for a while...figured it had come and gone. Recently saw it again at a local drugstore and couldn't resist retesting. Fragrance this time smelled stronger and I could still smell it on my hand an hour or two later. Nice citrus and berry. Has it been redone?? Would love to know before I purchase. Not that inexpensive...about $28. I will check Big Lots, as mentioned, but feel that will be the weak version (IF there are two versions). Hmmm...

I've been keeping and eye out for this one and it has finally landed in Australia. I gotta say it's a bit better than expected. It has a very 80s cologne feel to it at first but then the lemon kicks in and takes it all up a notch. As odd as this sounds it's like sweet fruits and lemons with amber. It wears off very quickly but then settles into a pleasant little fragrance that doesn't quite smell like others on the market today. The one problem with it is that lemon fragrances are strongly associated with household cleaners and it is hard to break that bond - well, for my nose anyway. Not great, but good. If this were marketed under a niche brand it would be called "Eighties Shopgirl Totally Citrus".

I smell vanilla, floral notes, musk, and caramalized sugar. I can't pick up on lemon or berries at all. It's not overly sweet though. I wanted this perfume for a long time and debated about getting it after reading the lukewarm reviews. It's extremely soft and nondescript. I agree that it's underwhelming. The way this was marketed made me expect a more sultry smell. Instead, it reminds me of Vanilla Fields, Vanilla Musk, and Pink Sugar. That's not to say that these are smell-alike scents. Love Is On is much softer. It's just a similar scent type.

Spicy, yet clean. Somewhere in between Organza and Donna Karan Chaos, with the mellowness of Hypnotic Poison. What's up with the bottle though? Update: I found this at clearance price and am beyond disappointed with the lack of strength. Not only is is completely different from the magazine strip that I previously reviewed, it's weaker than a dollar store knockoff. If you want a strong lemon cookie perfume I recommend Tattoo by Michel Germaine.

This has a musk note in it that is similar to Coty's Musk that was so popular way back when. I love that note - but just wish is lasted longer on the skin. They are off to a really good start with this - but need to add something to it - for more endurance. --------- Still, I can't help myself, every time I go through CVS on this aisle, I spray some of it on my wrist. I like this, very much. I just wish it lasted longer on my skin.

Why does this smell like armani diamonds to me? I love this but I think it is another one to bite the dust by Revlon as it has turned up in truckloads at The Chemist Warehouse here in Australia where everything the snobby department stores can't sell gets dumped. This lasts on me for a couple of hours it is a simple spicy vanilla but it just keeps reminding me of a copy of armani diamonds.

This smells like the 90's to me when I was little, my moms make up bag& very nostalgic, even tho my mom didn't wear this,idk why but it also smells like diet coke:( I never liked smell of nor taste....its not for me,I already bought a FB& guess it will only sit in my perfume collection & only for memory lane once in a blue moon wear,its strange to me,it lasts well tho for revlon.

Has a distinct pear scent (I was subjected to noxious fumes of Victoria Secret Pear Glace in my high school locker room that my nose will never forget) that smells awful with my body chemistry, so it's a no for me. It's not complex and smells inexpensive, but for a quick freshen-up post-gym or something, its not terrible. Akin to a $10ish body splash.

I smelled the roses and berries when I tryed this and I liked how it smelled. However the strength of it seemed weak to me. Perhaps this is because its a drugstore perfume? Other perfumes I have tried from Macy's and Sephora have more of a powerful kick when sprayed. I'll stick with other rose perfumes to get my rose fix.

This perfume reminds me of a cheaper less spicy version of EMPORIO ARMANI WHITE for her. The scent reminds me a lot of what I have been smelling around my college campus as of recent. It's a nice sexy light fresh scent and I do find its longevity to be pretty good.

The bottle is identic with ROUGE DE REVLON... i was expecting a new bottle... why 2 different perfumes with the same bottle? and by the way seems that contains 2 other notes which here are not listed?!...cardamom and vanilla

So far the only thing that interests me is the heart shaped red bottle that also looks like a sihoulette of a pair of passionate red lips... Other than that ... meh! I will try it though if I see it.

Light, but sultry. Can barely smell it on my wrist, but catch a whiff every now and then. Unique. Reminds me a bit of Fancy Love.

This smells like a mix between amor amor and Dior hypnotic poison .... Not a strong fragrance but sillage is okay.
