Cotton Bliss

‘Cotton Bliss’ is probably my favorite take on the Burberry Her DNA! With these notes I was expecting something kind of like Arabiyat Prestige’s ‘Uhud.’ Instead I got this amazing Cherry Cotton Candy’d up rendition of the Burberry legend, almost reminiscent of the OG ‘Her Intense.’ I usually turn to Zakat’s ‘Rivage 5th Avenue’ for a Cherry ‘Her’ impression, but its been developing a growing soapiness with each wear. This remains a sweet confectionery treat all the way through, while still keeping the mossy musk around to counter and balance the sweetness. I love the absolute scent bomb that is Rave Now, but this just takes the cake for me. 🥰

I absolutely love this perfume! It took a while to mature but now, it’s a sweet musky perfume that just makes me smile. I was a little shocked too to see it had cherry in it. I’m NOT a fan of cherry as it can lean medicinal but in here, it just adds to the fruity sweetness that combines with a musky skin scent beautifully. One I will rebuy!

I recently bought this perfume & I absolutely love it!!! Although I do not think it smells like BR 540 at all. It's a beautiful light fragrance that I think smells absolutely wonderful. I'm so glad I got it! 🩷 On my skin I pick up the fruits, the white flowers, and the vanilla. It smells amazing.

I love this fragrance! Sweet candy floss kind of scent. I don’t get a lot of the cherry I get more of a strawberry candy floss kind of like Burberry her/Burberry her elixir. Either way, longevity is great definitely crowd pleasing girly and sweet.

As if I needed another ambery cherry scent. I'm getting intense heady ambery cherry, a bit plasticy as cherry can be, with an obvious cool toned minty nuance in the opening (which I like - maybe it stems from the red fruits and cool toned white blossom blend - I usually get it from grapefruit) but the minty effect only lasts about 15 mins; super sweet raspberry fruitiness that stays within the cherry -caramel, then it's quickly joined by a cool-toned powdery accord, the white blossom note, a powdery cotton-like scent (almost like violet). I suppose out of this minty cool toned nuance unfolds this violety cotton "white blossom" scent becoming more present and bolder. That itself is incompatible with the plastic cherry so the result is heady floral a bit pungent to me. It reminds me of the overwhelming powdery plastic and ambery cherry - coconut vein of bbw Sunset Glow but much lighter (that one's too pungent, sharp ambery warm and contradicting). They tried to mimic the violet-musk powdery effect of Burberry Her with that cotton scent, but it's too intense, and it clashes with the cherry the first 1 hour. It's intensely powdery and cool-toned, since it lacks the rest of the Burberry Her notes to balance them out. Eventually it makes sense in the composition, but it takes time. It smells beautiful, quite resinous and sugared from the sprayer as if it's already at the later drydown and having its own different traits. I also smell a sugared waxy musky resinous almost nuance from the honey-caramel coumarin trio in the opening, but it doesn't stick around at the early drydown, it's overpowered by the ambery cherry-cotton violety scent. It sort of comes back later after the other notes subside. Yes eventually it morphs into a Burberry Her scent, but very cherry centered, more cool toned powdery and without the intense sugared ambery BR540 earthy moss of that. Instead the ambery earthy moss-like effect comes from the earthy coumarin, the ambery caramel and honey, however it's late to the party. It takes a hour or so for it to smell like the earthy creamy Burberry Her so the BR540 aspect is weak. Once it does it's actually a nice comforting scent. The cherry caramel with its amber effect remind me of the cherry-like ambery league of scents (Cheirosa '62 -VS Sunset Gelato, bbw Vacation Vibe), where caramel and pistachio create an ambery cherry-like scent. Same league, as I mentioned, featuring a cool toned powdery note with a contrasting ambery plasticy cherry, is BBW Sunset Glow. This just lacks the intense nutty pistachio or almond element of that league (but Sunset Glow also has none of that too). The powdery cherry caramel white blossom blend here is also similar but much lighter to the cherry in BBW Sweetheart Cherry being both juicy plastic and cool toned (along the lines of the aforementioned Cheirosa '62 perfumes) but minus the pistachio nutty accord. The caramel is not part of Burberry Her or Rave Now so that explains it cuz that intense cherry caramel is missing from them. It makes me dizzy here. The raspberry bloom with the cotton candy intensify the sickly sweet element while the powdery white blossom -cotton scent is creating more chaos with that cherry. As I said it all gets better after an hour. Maybe with maceration the notes will blend better sooner, won't be as jarring, hopefully I'll get more of the Her ambery earthiness and earlier on, and the cool toned powdery effect with the cherry won't be so intense/incompatible, however I feel that this is part of this perfume's character. I'll get used to it and treat it as a lighter bbw Sunset Glow/Sweetheart Cherry with a Burberry Her flair. The sickly sweet fruity - amber cherry at first is also similar to the sharp loud ambery sweetness of Candie's Luscious Candies. At the drydown it reminds me of Police Rich Girl a Burberry Her failed attempt. They're both heady sweet, but the latter is worse by the pink pepper being dusty in the opening, while the violet with the sorbet are like the heady ozonic BBW Candied Violet Sorbet. So this is much better than Rich Girl which lacks depth and packs the cherry note, reminiscent of plain celebrity sweet scents, even tho in both the cool toned powdery element is incompatible (at least at first). So Cotton Bliss is a hybrid to me, a more cool toned powdery non-mossy Burberry Her with an intense ambery cherry scent and the cool toned powdery note, reminiscent of the Sweetheart Cherry type only less syrupy, no nutty vibe. Honestly it reminds me of some other violet centered sweet scents but won't get into that. Am I getting the decadent earthy mossy BR540 vibe of Burberry Her from this? Not in all its glory. The coumarin musk honey caramel can't compensate for the lack of amberwood or moss . The heady cherry- cotton candy- raspberry bloom with the violet impression here offer the Burberry Her type of intense sweetness and its powdery musky aspect, but I prefer Burberry Her being smoother creamier, warmer with that BR540 vein, without heady intense elements or contradicting to the cherry overly cool toned accords. ALSO. This is NOTHING like Burberry Her Intense, no no no, absolutely not. After 3 hours I might get a very faint vague vibe trying to mimic Burberry Her Intense due to the red fruits and honey-coumarin, but it's way too watered down and too plasticy cherry/cooled toned powdery. That's one my top favorite scents. It's rich, deep, berries, resinous and like expensive tanning lotion with the BR 540 drydown, luxurious and decadent. I bought Cotton Bliss because reviews suggested they're similar, not at all. I need to stop relying on most of the reviews on here cuz Ill go bankrupt buying scents that are similar to what I have and don't really like much.
