Oudh Pour Homme

I have been a fan of Rituals Parfums for men since I first received a bottle of Maharaja d’or in 2019. Since then I bought a second and third bottle of the same as it has become my signature fragrance. I recently discovered the smell of Mancera red tobacco and instantly fell in love but was unwilling to pay the £150 for a bottle. So had been on the hunt for a similarly pungent dark, manly woody earthy scent. I find as I get older I yearn for more darker intense earthy pungent fragrances. I read about oudh and realised there was a whole range of Parfums I was unaware of. Then whilst browsing the rituals range of fragrances I saw the special edition Oudh pour Homme online. I decided to take a trip to Cambridge to try the frangrance in person before shelling out for a bottle. I sprayed some on my hand in store and smelled it, and immediately hated it. It smelt ugly. Organic hydrocarbons and complex unattractive mixture of scents. Walked out of the store. Then a strange thing happened. After about 5-10 minutes I had a scent surrounding me which was INCREDIBLE. woody earthy, spicy, cool, sweet. Tinge of menthol, a trace of vanilla, and a frangrance with presence. I literally sprayed one spray on the back of my hand but that was enough. This frangrance is incredible. I spray two puffs in the morning one on my left wrist the other on my chest. 8-9hours later I’m still smelling incredible. Longevity and silage are incredible. Intense. The smell is so complex and intriguing. So anyway. I went home and bought two bottles. At 50 quid a bottle for 50ml it’s a steal. Highly recommend. Definitely competes with Mancera red tocbacco. Well done rituals. This is my new signature fragrance

Shaghaf Oud? Unless Shaghaf Oud has no vanille and not that much sweetness, this aint Shaghaf Oud. This is made by Fabrice Pellegrin. I get oud, smoke and patchouli. The oud is verry forward. As it dries down I get woods and warm spices. There also seems to be hints of chocolate, which probably comes from the patchouli. This does not smell bad. It does smell a bit like a wellness, which is not atypical for rituals fragrances. It smells warm but relatively dry. I like it. It does have a bit a 'barnyard' vibe to it though, but does not smell dirty to me. Performance wise, takes about 6 hours on me to go to the base, which lasts as a skin scent for atleast 6 more hours. Its not a big projector, but verry perceptible up close. Smells pretty natural up close too. Presentation wise, the bottle is not made out of brown glass, as the picture indicates, but looks like its wrapped in fake gold foil. The liquid is not visible at all through the bottle, even using a strong light. The cap is wood, not unlike the laliques. I dont like it as much as other Rituals bottles. If you like oud, I think its worth a smell and see if you like it. I dont have any other dry ouds in my collection, so figured this was worth adding. But I do think the 40€/50ml I payed on sale is on the high side for what this is. At some point I'll probably find something simular but cheaper, considdering this is a verry middle eastern profile and these days some pretty good amazingly priced stuff comes from that region. But for now, I'm happy with this.

This was probably the scent that got me into fragrances more than any other. I bought it because I liked the home fragrance of the Rituals Oudh & Patchouli line, and while this isn't the same, of course it's similar. I really love it and I always get a lot of compliments from it. It's a pretty straightforward oudh.

not impressed, another run of the mill kind of oud-ish scent. like a perfume friend of mine said, he knew just by the price that this would be one more of those ordinary oud-wanna be kind of scents. stay clear folks and rather save up those hard earned cash on some decent quality perfumes

Smells extremely close to Shaghaf Oud by Swiss Arabian, which is a great scent but not a must have. So, Rituals Oudh Pour homme is just ok :-).

This is a lovely oud perfume, the bergamot gives it a nice fresh hint in what would otherwise have been a pretty dark perfume. I personally think the patchouli is a great component, it backs the bergamot up in the fact that the patchouli is not very sharp in the woody scent it sometimes can give off. People are claiming similarity with Shaghaf Oud, apart from the agarwood and the golden colour of the bottles, they don't really have that much in common. Shaghaf Oud is great at doing what it does, the Agarwood rose and praline note are very very prominent, this perfume is going more for the dark sweet aromatic oud vibe, as with the hint of bergamot, whereas Shaghaf is clearly more oriental.

SHAGHAF Oud is the same and for half the price at least;Longer lasting too than this one

I have a bottle of Oudh Homme, bought in July. The scent is pretty unisex with a more masculine undertone beacuse of the rather smoky combination of leather and oudh. The perfume smells almost exactly like the Oudh diffuser from Rituals, a bit smoky potpourri-ish, but it's something I enjoy. Like I was in an autumnal spa. One thing I definitely don't like is the first two minutes after spraying. The bergamot-citrus blast is like killing my nostrils. The scent is not bad! It's something personal: I just don't like citrus with oudh, that's it. But this bergamot blast totally disappeares after 2-3 minutes, and then you have this calming, majestic but a bit linear oudh cloud. Within the first two minutes it's a chance for you just run from this frag... too woody-spicy, almost generic, but after two minutes it becomes woody-smoky like Black Afgano f.e. But I enjoy this much more than Black Afgano beacuse of how visible the oudh accord is in this. Afgano is not my cup of tea. Hope I could help.
