Serendipity For Him

I walked past the Rituals shop in the Trafford Centre a couple of times today and kept smelling this in the air, and it was so intoxicating i had to have a wonder inside to see if i could locate the source! Everytime i walked past the shop i was smelling it! The lady Sales assistant i chatted to said what i was smelling would be the new fragrance which was at the front of the shop 'a diffuser was pumping it out'. It's very dark, resinous and spicy, a really unusual fragrance, and nothing like Guerlain Ideal EDP or Bvlgari MIB 'I know these very well'. I have looked at the note breakdown, and I'm surprised to not see incense listed as a note as that is what i thought i was detecting 🤔 I'm not sure as the notes list only mentions (earthy notes). Regardless, this one is very interesting, and well worth checking out if you are into rich/dense smelling fragrances perfect for the cold winter nights. I would also like to add that this is the first fragrance i have tried from Rituals, and based on this experience i will definitely be checking out other offerings from this House, and you should too!! I really like that they have smaller bottles available, i went with a 15ml Spray bottle for now as it was only £14 and just a perfect size to really get to know a fragrance before committing to a full bottle! I wish more companies did these smaller sizes, a nice touch. As of right now, i give it a score of a very respectable 7.5/10 **Update** So a couple of months later i picked up a full sized bottle at the beginning of this year, and I'm so glad i did.. as it has unfortunately been discontinued! 'It was a Limited Edition after all. I really hope they bring this one back again for another run, I've fallen truly and madley in love with this stuff banger!! It's gets better the more you wear it, it started off for me as a strong like, now it's a LOVE! Updated score - 9/10

Sweet but earthy. I have a 15ml bottle my wife bought for me as a small gift and I think it’s even more precious since it’s a limited edition product. It’s a small bottle and I appreciate it more since it’s the only bottle I have. Musky, sweet, earthy with a hint of marzipan, and woody undertones. Lasts all day. People say it’s a winter scent but I would wear it in Warmer weather too. I like it as a shelf filler and a solid every other day wear.

Just tried this at a Rituals. Super cozy and sexy. This is for the cold weather and a real great frag for dates and close encounters. The projection and sillage is not that powerful but then again, date frags shouldn't be. 8.5/10

Rituals always makes kickass and affordable Christmas cologne and it’s EDP!, this one doesn’t disappoint , Very deep and mysterious scent for the cold winter evening , however it draw you closer to it . Love it

An easily wearable incense and spicy perfume for the winter season. I am surprised that incense is not listed in the pyramid, as I get the incense upon spraying it, which is in good combination with spicy cardamon. The opening smells more smoky on my skin than on paper. The incense really stands out. Next to cardamon I also get black pepper. It is warm, dry but not very dusty. I really enjoy how it develops on my skin. It gets more and more smoky and earthy, rich and cozy. The incense here does not really create a church vibe; instead, it is more like a vintage furniture shop to me. There are some woody notes coming up, as well as some sweet undertone like cinnamon. A lot of people mention almond too, but I don't smell it here. However, the sweetness does remind me of the almond paste for cookies. The drydown is mild, smooth and comforting. The smoky incense starts toning down but remains balsamic, while calming sandalwood comes up, leaving the spicy notes in the background.
