Graduate 1954

When I saw tuberose in the list of notes I was thinking of something a la Gucci Bloom but niche type (if that makes sense)...so I blind bought it. I didn't expect such an outcome. When I opened the box and saw the bottle they both looked like items taken from minimalist Scandinavian living room...So I changed my concept about the scent - maybe it is super modernist and subsequently nondescript experimental perfume like most of the niche attempts lately (totally fed up with this ambient scent like perfumes). The first spray left me puzzled - a vintage fragrance in a super clean and simple modern bottle. The initial blast of aldehydes made me think of softer Chanel 5 and the combination of rose and lily of the valley were close to Dali Salvador Dali. What a pleasant surprise. The further development is more modern but somehow fits the beginning. I really like this combination of modern and vintage and will wear it a lot.

Wow, this smells like a vintage lanvin Arpege powder my mother wore in the 80s. Really exquisite, soft, warm, slightly spicy, white floral, powdery, with ZERO reference to baby powder. So sophisticated. It has that vintage aroma but it doesn’t smell old. Amazing for the over 30s. Love it! Edit: some more info: unfortunately this is very ephemeral- I get only about 3 hours of longevity, even less on skin. It changes a touch on drydown; the incredible light powdery creaminess here becomes more musky. More so on skin. I still love it, it’s like using silky body powder in a spray. Got this for very cheap second hand from someone who didn't like it. And man it's a beauty. I'm more of a fougere / chypre than a floral enjoyer but this fragrance is stunning. It smells very much like a powdery floral fragrance that you might catch a mature woman wearing on a night out, and I read comparisons to chanel no5 when it was on its way and now I know why. The top scent that hits you is definitely no5 esque. At the back of the fragrance there is definitely a note that reminds me of the civet Musk smell in kouros. Not that I think the two are remotely similar. Just that there is a slight touch of muskyness to it that reminds me of kouros. This is my third of the roads fragrances that I've acquired and so far I am a huge fan of all of them

Love it! I get a spicy tropical feel. I think there is an accord creating the smell of banana leaf. I'd guess it's the frangipani, tuberose and cloves. This has happened before on my skin. Tuberose is definitely the note these occasions share. I don't know why my skin doesn't notice the oak moss. The rose manages to surface after a while along with the oakmoss. I was expecting quite a traditional, classic scent. Its more modern, warm and welcoming. It's not strong so I can't imagine anyone disliking it. Easy to wear. I get average longevity and sillage.

I absolutely adore this scent..I got it for a steal and on my first sniff, I fell in love. Graduate 1954 is a winner..It's classy, sophisticated and so well blended that all the notes merge together, but not so it's overly linear..I can't pick out any individual notes. But it's sparkly with an aldyhyde that makes it almost effervescent. I also get a sense of Dejavu with it..Like I've smelled it before, many year's ago. And that comforts me. This is now on my top 5 scents..Thanks Roads

This is such a mature, sophisticated scent, in the best possible way. There's certainly a sense of déjà vu about it since it evokes classic women's fragrances without exactly resembling any of them. I get white florals (too seamlessly blended to differentiate), aldehydes, moss, and woods primarily. It's a bit powdery, likely due to the heliotrope, but there's nothing baby-like about 1954. This is a great option for people who love classic perfumery but who want to wear something that isn't so instantly recognizable.
