Fracas Eau Fraîche

The review just below has it so right in that this smells like the way I felt smelling Fracas before. My batch for Eau Fraiche is March 2023. The Fracas I had before was only 2021 (or 2020 batch - I’m forgetting). When I ordered this, I got a sample of Fracas with it so I tested both. Fracas is amazing as always, and I wasn’t getting the indolic of the other post’s writer had, but it was feeling more linear to me compared to what it used to be. Fracas Eau Fraiche makes me feel again that I’m experiencing the whole bloom cycle of the tuberose from its bloom beginning to its end where you feel sad or nostalgic at the end of the flower. To me, I get a bit of the life cycle of the Gardenia bloom as well - not perfume Gardenia but my 5 foot tall Gardenia bush blooming outside my window. That was the beauty of Fracas for me that Eau Fraiche has brought back. I hope this stays as a permant flanker. Like Fracas it has a strong opening. Everyone is going to smell you, but Eau Fraiche calms down a bit on the sileage after 2 hours so you can safely wear it in closed spaces after then. I know it’s a weird season to love it in, but I always adore a strong tuberose perfume in the summer.

Wore Fracas in the ‘00s-‘10s. Then it started to feel too indolic for everyday wear. And I began to notice a dreaded indolic note, even in fresh bottles. After testing a range of florals, it turns out that indolic note often appears in “expensive” perfumes like those from Amuage. My theory is that anything with a high percentage of naturally derived florals will have it. Well, Fracas Eau Fraiche is missing the offending note and for that reason actually reminds me more of the way I experienced Fracas 15 years ago. I guess my tastes have changed. This is just right for today.

Absolutely lovely sweet tuberose fragrance with a soft musky sandalwood drydown. Really good longevity for an eau fraiche/edc. I blind bought this because I tend to love Calice Becker's fragrances and I read this might be a limited edition. I was not disappointed.

I don't know how true it is that this smells like the original version of Fracas because I've never smelled that. What Fracas I've tried is what is selling now, and this doesn't smell a whole lot like that. The only thing they have in common are both are white floral bombs, but the florals here are sweeter, fresher, and more modern. The florals in today's Fracas are heavy and buttery, which is my least favorite type. This is also a lot less dramatic and easier to wear than Fracas. I always felt like Fracas was wearing me and not the other way around. It is just as strong though, so you have to go easy on the trigger, but it is not as long lasting as Fracas. It also smells better in warmer weather than cold where it becomes a little screechy underneath. While I like this a lot, I don't love it as I have other white floral perfumes I prefer. Still, it is pretty, and the 25ml. size in the cute pink bottle is perfect considering the size of my wardrobe, (I wish more houses would offer this option), but might not be so great for someone considering this as a signature as they don't offer a larger size.

Very nice floral. To me it smells almost exactly the same as Kandilli from Maison Louis Marie. It is quite intense, sweet, floral, jasmine.

I decided to buy this for a trip to the coast.I wore the original briefly in the 90’s and this is exactly the same as I remember it.I assumed this might be lighter but no! It is absolutely polarizing! I don’t love it but I don’t hate it,I simply like it.I feel sorry for the next people staying in my cottage because the scent is probably still in there even though I used only one spritz on my wrist.The scent grows on you almost literally.I know that Giada de Laurentis,Courtney Love,Martha Stewart and Madonna have all said that this is their signature scent.You have to love a floral bomb of a fragrance to wear this one! I found that spritzing a small amount in the air and walking through it is much better than actually applying to skin.This is the mother of all Tuberose fragrances!
