L'Homme Suave (Sauvage)

I do like/own/wear Capucci for Man. I like it so much that I blind bought this fragrance. I was curious about it as it shares the same bottle and was quite inexpensive (14 Euros). For my surprise I received a xerox copy of Dior's Sauvage. I still can't tell much about the performance but in waht concerns the scent, it's really an efective clone, better than any other Sauvage clone I know. The main difference is not really easy to detect. This fragrance uses Amber as the main note, and Sauvage uses Ambroxan which in fact has an amber type of odor. L'Homme Sauvage does not smell cheap and the bottle is minimalist but nice. Just my luck ... I was hoping for a dark smoky scent and got another Sauvage clone. By the way, I know now that Capucci's smoky dark fragrance is Roberto Capucci Him. EDIT 1 - 6 hours went by since I applied 3 sprays in the back of my hand and there is still 1 foot sillage.It projected during 2 hours or so, with a peak sillage of 4 feet. It looks that the longevity will be greater than 8 hours.

VERY close to Dior Sauvage EDT. I actually owned Roberto Capucci Suave before I purchased Dior Sauvage EDT. I almost got an instant buyers regret on the Dior (not really, because it has its spot on my collection). Yes, RC Suave has a bit louder opening and overall it is slightly brighter through the whole span, it also has better longevity. RC Suave is so close to Dior Sauvage you have to smell them very carefully side-by-side to spot any difference. Considering, I paid €16,95 for the RC Suave, but it is slightly hard to find, I instantly pulled the trigger for couple bottles more. So, unless it is a thing for you to specifically wear a Dior fragrance, this is pretty much perfect alternative. The Scent 9/10 (if you like Dior Sauvage EDT) Longevity 9/10 (8+ hours) Projection 8/10 (2 hours above average projection) Value 10/10 - You should find 100ml in WAY below 20€ price range. Some sellers seem to ask around 40-50€ right now. So watch out to not overpay.

i personally like everything by Roberto Capucci. i think his line of scents are under rated and are far better and dont get the credit they deserve! Sauvage is a classic that is unique and stands out ! i cant see any similarities with Dior, totally different in my opinion.Both are awesome scents in their own way, this is the type of cologne for someone who wants to stand out from the crowd , dior is for someone who wants to be part of the crowd!

October 2020 - Fragrance tested on mouilette and my hand. Predominant notes for me are amber, basil and lavender. The opening is sweet but after a short time it becomes very sensual and masculine. On the clothes for me is better. The performance is decent, sillage around for 4-5 hours. After the first 15 minutes it's very similar to Dior Sauvage. Excellent value for money. 7/10

I love this one! Opens up citrusy-spicy and the goes into clean smell which to my nose is a mix of lavende, bergamot and note I cannot decipher. From there the scent is quite linear. Longevity is very good for a fresh fragrance, about 8hours. Projection is great in the beginning, but after like 30minutes to 1 hour sits close to skin.

This is an excellent, masculine fragrance that opens with a refined, controlled citrus and spice blend that develops into a deeper, more complex, and charming spicy drydown. The projection is better than average as is the longevity. Get this now.

this is not a clone of dior sauvage! roberto capucci he"s a living legend of the italian fashion and not a clone maker! this scent might be inspired by sauvage? but it's a lot more suave! great scent thanks to capucci.

Definitely has a Dior Sauvage vibe with very good performance. In my opinion a very good blind buy for the price. It has gotten me several compliments, I recommend it.

I’m honestly blown away by all the praise that this fragrance is receiving online. I consider myself to be relatively open minded and able to appreciate some fragrances that I don’t “like” but can still appreciate from a composition standpoint. But I’m struggling with this fragrance. Like “REALLY” struggling. The Sauvage-esk qualities of Capucci L’Homme Suave are there and well executed with the top and middle notes working together in symphony. Then comes the base notes... and they’re playing a completely different movement! The base notes clash into a dark cloud that shadows this scent. It smells like you sprayed yourself with 2 sprays of Sauvage and then topped it off with a spray of Fahrenheit. If you compare the base notes of Capucci L’Homme Suave and Fahrenheit you’ll see how similar they are. The first time I showed this to my girlfriend she said “No, I don’t like that!” She likes Sauvage 🤷♂️ I asked her what it is that she doesn’t like and she said “It smells like fuel or something.” She’s right, it absolutely does. That “petrol” “asphalt” smell from Fahrenheit apparently isn’t just coming from the violet. It has something to do with the base notes, maybe the patchouli, vetiver and leather mingling because it’s in the Capucci too. Whatever it is, it drains the life from this fragrance for me. Any freshness gleaned from the Sauvage dna is muddled and lost. Just a very dark, fuely, depressing, car leather interpretation of Sauvage. Fahrenheit is in my top 15 fragrances, but Sauvage mixed with Fahrenheit is a hard no for me. One positive thing I can say about Capucci is that it does evoke emotions in me. When I smell it I get slightly anxious, solidly annoyed and almost mad that someone would put those note’s together that way. It doesn’t feel like a statement in an artistic way, more of an expression of bad ideas, like putting Worcestershire sauce on fruit. Of 50 plus blind buys this is hands down my most disappointing fragrance that I own. I’ve purchased many colognes that smell cheaper and much worse than this, but never one that was an excellent execution of a terrible idea. FYI I did not expect this to be an exact clone of Sauvage, I bought it because I was hoping it would be different. And it is different in the worst way. This is the first fragrance I passionately dislike, which is why I’ll cherish it forever in my collection. Update 11/22/23 Wow, I can’t believe it, I’m actually enjoying this fragrance a lot now. The clashing I was initially perceiving in the base notes are still there, but now I find a pleasant dissonance rather than something off-putting. Kind of like how a little overdrive on a clean guitar creates noise by definition, but it’s a pleasant noise. I decided to share this not because my opinion matters, but because I’m shocked at how much I hated this scent at first. It took everything I had to give it a chance and I’m glad I did. I also decided to to leave my above review because I came off as arrogant, annoyed and just negative in general. I hope to never write off another fragrance without giving it a fair trial.

Not bad at all, a very good Sauvage alternative for less than 10 euros. It is a more rounded, not so spicy Sauvage clone, I guess ambroxan is replaced by amber, saltiness and pepper are toned down, if Sauvage is a bit too much peppery for you, that's a good alternative, more wearable for sure. Instead of Ice Walk from Zara, get this one, price is almost the same, but this one performs better. I get 2 hours of solid projection and 5-6 longevity, so for situation like office or work, it goes very well without the classic extra peppery vibe of the original one, that could be a bit too much for some people. It costs so little that you can get a decant with you and simply respray after 2-3 hours. For me it is a win.

An excellent alternative to Dior Sauvage! Not as bright in the opening, something I personally enjoy, and does not project quite as long on mine skin. All things considered, however, I enjoy this one more. A touch more pepper and amber in the dry down makes this a winner for me. Almost identical to Dior Sauvage, excellent longevity and good sillage. A little note: now is renamed in "L'Homme Suave" due to trademark issues with Dior.

Total clone of Dior Sauvage for a very cheap price,lasts a good amount of time.

I am disappointed to be writing this, mostly because of my own high expectations. It will take me some time to start liking this, It's really kind of pissing me off, this fragrance. It feels all over the place, even more than sauvage and dylan blue (of which I enjoy sauvage, but completely despise dylan blue). Lavender, anise and bergamot give a slight hint of Sauvage EDT, but the strange mix of tobacco, leather and amber (instead of ambroxan) plus the added musk have a lot of powderiness to it. Patchouli and incense clearly don't belong in there, also frustrating, like it was attempting to refer itself to some other classic perfumes like bleu de chanel. It has a very harsh opening, after which it kind of smooths down and actually becomes kinda enjoyable, but I wouldn't recommend it as a clone or alternative to sauvage, since it would just feel frustrating. Further thinking about it, this feels like an unfinished great piece of work. Maybe treat it as a unique member of the trendy "shower gel" family. As an amateur, what would make this fragrance smell much better and expensive would be clearing out the base of the conflicting ingredients, softening the opening and add vanilla and vetiver to the mix. Further thinking about it once again, I just realized that it has also impressions of the whole sauvage family, the elixir and the parfum, and through its base and powderiness adding a violent impression of prada l'homme - notice how much of a mess it has become. Just unbalanced and there's a reason why it's so affordable, you cannot get away with making a 15$ perfume trying to be something that it's not. It does have good performance to it, nice. I'm not sure which season this would fit best in, as it does feel very schizophrenic, but I'm kind of excited to wait for summer to see how it interacts with the heat, I'm pretty sure that it would bring out some interesting notes. Scent: initially 4,5/10, then turns to 7/10 Perfomance: 8 - lasts and projects well Value: 6,5 - you get more than what you pay for, but it smells like it doesn't cost more than 80 bucks, frustration Compliment/wow factor: 5 - meh I need to get used to this. I also want the real deal now, real Sauvage EDP which just feels more right, not so out of place and softly and sweetly talking to noses around, seducing gentlemanly. EDP puts this into a good perspective.

Yes, this is pretty darn good. Fresh, citrussy and long lasting. The colour of the juice doesn't match the smell in my opinion. But this is a good value and really nice perfume.

70% Dior sauvage, 30% more depth than expected... I liked that one, only Dior sauvage vibes but not similar.

Cheap fnet blind buy 3.4oz bottle was around $11. Impressive. ★★★★ (4 / 5 stars) My bottle is essentially the abmroxan bomb of Dior Sauvage (original) with a light, amber / pepper sweetness and woody dry down. Slightly more medicinal however. People around me think it is Sauvage and it hit the 8 hour mark at work / after work today. 3 sprays. One to the chest and one on each wrist. How many $11 frags can make that claim, and looking at the reviews, others are getting great performance also. Hidden gem? The bottle is a nice triangle shape but the gold sprayer under the black cap is cheap and crappy. Tempted to buy a few backup bottles if Sauvage is ever reformulated. Here are the best Sauvage offerings I own in order - best to worst: Christian Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum Christian Dior Sauvage Prada Luna Rossa Carbon (smoother and the lavendar is classy but its a few hours less performance and lower projection - but its easier to wear and a lovely deviation) Roberto Capucci L'Homme Suave (Sauvage) Zara Home Cuir Velvet (Strong Aquatic Sauvage) Zara Aromatic Future (mild DiGio Sauvage) Parfums Vintage Pineapple Vintage X Batch (love the Aventus opening but performance stinks and the price is MORE than Prada Carbon - won't repurchase) Armaf Ventana Pour Homme (couldn't get into this one - seemed off and too much harsh pepper / musk) La Rive Black Line (junk) Results: • Stick with the original if you have money. • Or buy 2 bottles of Prada Carbon for the same money. • Or if you are cheap - Roberto Capucci. • Ignore the rest unless Cuir Velvet Zara is $20 or less.

WOW! For sure this is a hidden gem! I bought it today and I'm really satisfied of this fragrance. For me Suave smells 90% like Sauvage EDT, and a little bit like Sauvage EDP. Some interesting mix between the two versions of Sauvage, I would say, really good mix IMO. The sillage and longevity are extremely good as well. And considering the price - this is the best blind buy, and you won’t be dissapointed, especially if you like the smell of the original Dior Sauvage! P.S: Talking about hidden gems? This beast lasts on my skin for more than 10+ hours! Amazing perfomance fоr such cheapie! Great to see this on here, I almost bought this a while ago then forgot about it as purchased Urban Elements:Stone as a great Dior Sauvage clone instead. I've realised that the Sauvage vibe is not for me, so I'm glad I didn't pay out for the original (have a small decant though). I'm actually more interested to check this out if it has it's own thing going on as mentioned by a couple of reviewers. Cheers. PS: I love the name chosen by the company to replace Sauvage! Pleasantly medicinal from start to finish. The notes described here are accurate to this clinical perfume. Suave reminds me of San Pellegrino Chinotto soft drink - a bitter sweet cola, though Suave is not sticky sweet. The lavender is the lavender sunk into the cedar of a dry sauna. Neat pot of florist's cyclamen in the window of a wood-panelled herb apothecary in a Swiss or Northern Italian town. Tinctures, roots, and Ricola-like bonbons. Despite the citrus, Suave is mountain air, not coastal. Very chic yet perfect for the chalet.
