Roberto Cavalli Man

I picked up this tester bottle back in 2008 during a sale for AUD11 at the time and honestly, it remains one of the best bargains I’ve ever scored. Even after all these years, it still stands out as one of Alberto Morillas’ finest fougère‐barbershop creations. From the first spray, it comes across fresh, clean and uplifting. The opening bursts with bright citrus and a zing of ginger, creating an energetic, modern take on a classic fougère start. Very quickly, the lavender steps in, smooth, aromatic and perfectly balanced, anchoring the composition without making it feel dated. As it settles, the fragrance dries down into a soft, woody‐musky base that feels comforting and timeless. There is a leather note listed but on my skin it stays subtle, almost like a quiet supporting layer rather than a dominant player. It never overpowers the blend, which I actually enjoy because it keeps the whole composition elegant and easy to wear. Overall, it’s a fresh yet grounded barbershop scent with Morillas’ signature refinement - simple, classic and incredibly well‐done.

Not sure exactly when I got this but it was a blind buy inspired by a Cavalli shirt with a snakeskin design. Cavalli Man seems fairly traditional at first, with citrus, lavender and ginger in the overture. Then there’s a subtle leather and a cedary wooziness as it becomes leathery-woody-musky. Classy. Sophisticated. A variation on a traditional theme. There is a musk note underlying the composition that persists through the dry down and gives Cavalli Man a touch of class. Not Earth-shattering or unique but pleasant, wearable and the dry down is sublime. Elegant, suitable for work and play, with respectable performance and longevity.

A very sophisticated casual wear cologne: very unique, interesting and very young style. It makes you feel confident, sexy, wild (in a good way). At the beginning it smells like Bvlgari Blv ginger note, but the sandalwood in this one is softer and richer. Silage is extraordinary, and lasting power also. I am not sure if it is appropriate to classify this as aromatic woody, it is rather woody-spicy or even oriental-fougere. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it for fall or winter, as it has a cold feeling.

Hi everyone. I sprayed this perfume on my wrist a few years ago in some perfume shop. I must say this is utterly amazing. A little bit sweet/citrus/fresh but at the same time spicy. I am not sure about projection, but regarding longevity it is very good. I would not mind wearing it again, but I guess it is discontinued. Anyway this is one of the good ones. 7.5-8 out of ten. Safe bet, yet unique in its own way.
