Aquawoman

Nothing beats this one for me and on me. Very attractive, exotic and sensual, bright and warm but with a cool salty humid oceanic breeze (not beachy, and not Mediterranean oceanic, more tropical beach on a 50% humidity day) to cool down your hot summer and early autumn nights. This smells best in dry climates - becomes too heavy for humid places as it already smells humid. Also great for day. In fact Aquawoman starts off bright and fresh and slightly feminine in a ‘I’m not looking for love, I’m just feel sexy’ way, and warms throughout the day into a still very fresh but yummy sensual marine base towards the end of the day (the mango musk is key). Perfect for day to night wear. I fell off my chair when they discontinued and have about 5 sprays left kept in the refrigerator lol. Almost spent $400 buying a second hand bottle (don’t). This was my signature scent and my all time favourite next to Polo Sport for women. But WAIT. After years of research and searching, Hermes Eau De Merveilles Bleue is so so close! Just body shop mango moisturise yourself, 3 spritz of HEDMB and you are pretty much Aquawoman again (sans the rose notes :( ....) works for my skin type and I hope it does for yours! Did I already mention that Rochas is my favourite perfume house? Whatever they create it is a sheer masterpiece. I rely on their fragrances unseeingly or should I say unsniffedly? Aquawoman was no exception. I loved it from the very first time I tried and thought I needed to own it. And then I came to the question: why on earth they have to discontinue the production of their best fragrances? But to make a long story short the point is I am a proud owner of a bottle of Aquawoman by now. The fragrance itself begins with a burst of aquatic accords (and it doesn't smell synthetic like in the most aquatic fragrances), followed by bergamot and leading to the listed note, faint rose. Although the notes listed in the heart are lily and rose, I detect only some indefinable flowery sweetness with some very light wood. There is something extremely sexy about the drydown. I have to agree with those who mentioned the cologne resemblance. There is nothing particularly feminine about it to my nose and it certainly doesn't smell at all too masculine for a woman to wear either. It feels as sexy as wearing your beloved's shirt.

I was lucky to get my hands on its original version. It leans a bit masculine for my taste, but I can still see myself reaching for it often on hot summer days. This is a truly intriguing fragrance. The marine notes are spot-on—I sprayed it on my arm to test, and as I lay down, it occasionally radiated a salty, fun marine scent. It smelled so good that I kept trying to catch that salty marine effect again and again. Thanks to the bergamot, it has a pleasant, acidic citrusy touch, though it’s so light that you can barely detect it. Meanwhile, the mango and hibiscus add a subtle sweetness to the salty marine notes, creating a truly unique combination. One moment, it’s the scent of the salty sea; the next, it’s like you’re sipping a cocktail on the beach. I don’t understand why this isn’t being sold anymore because, in my opinion, it’s an amazing perfume. It’s perfect for those who are tired of mainstream fragrances. Also, a word of advice—it’s best when applied in moderation. If you overspray, it starts smelling like you’ve fallen into a barrel of aftershave lotion.

To all of you who are wondering about Aquawomen, I recommend it sincerely. I would consider this to be one of the most remarkable perfumes I have ever had - a real stunner. It is a true marine scent, but much much sharper then Cool Water and other ocean-themed fragrances, a little bit masculine (being very sharp and long lasting, like most of the male perfumes), but still a scent strictly for women. I would never describe this as a subtle - It has all the qualities to get you in the center of the attention: overpowering but not offensive, sexy, sparkling and fresh. I don't see romantic and quiet woman wearing this; it's for powerful and energetic ones only.Aquawomen has attitude and style. A real ego-boost :) It's not only a great, refreshing summer scent; it can also be worn in cold days and the bottle is so gorgeous and classy. All of this makes it a five star perfume in my book. ;)

...Continued from my Post last week. So, I've been liberally spritzing this on for over a week, and yes I've spent waaaay too much for this. Unless I've been sorely duped by the seller and I've bought a dud, this Aquawoman is completely a joke. The only thing I can smell is faint salt water, and even that fades within the hour. For almost $200.00 I am sick, knowing what a great fragrance I could have had for that. Very disappointed. This is the last of my Blind Buys, at least as recommended on this website. :( Update: March 2019. Spring is here in south Florida, and I've just been going through my perfume/fragrance collection, needing something for this bright, fresh day. Today, I took this beauty from its box and applied liberally after my morning shower. OMG. How did I ever question this amazing aroma??? And now I see it's around $350 on Amazon and Ebay!!!

I can't get over that Rochas discontinued two of their fabulous fragrances, namely, Alchimie and Aquawoman. Aquawoman is perhaps the best aquatic creation I have ever came across. The watery and floral notes entwine in a way to give you a taste of a real ocean water... When I wear Aquawoman, I see myself sat down on the sea shore... shells and pebbles get washed on and on by the ocean weaves... the ocean foam is so cool and refreshing... I hear seagulls and albatrosses dancing above the ocean surface... I feel hot sand melting under my feet and the sun kissing my skin... suddenly, I smell flowers... I turn and open my eyes... it is my beloved husband walking with a bunch of roses and lilies... This is Aquawoman for me...

I recently helped my friend (who is much older than me) clean up his house. The house had nearly not been touched at all for two years. My friend's wife left a few years ago and left some of her things. I found a lot of cool old stuff including this perfume. I love the scent and have been wearing it every day since I found it. It is a lighter brighter scent that is acceptable for everyday use. It is airy and floral, sweet but not too sweet. I am disappointed to find out they discontinued this franfrance, especially since there wasn't a whole lot left when I found the bottle :(

All the recent posts complaining about this scent and its longevity - please bare in mind that this perfume is discontinued since arround 2008. So the bottles you buy online are very old and the scent has changed it's notes. I know because I own a bottle of this perfume that changed overtime. I remember the scent when it was on the market and freshly made - everyone on the street kept asking me about it....It was amazing, such a shame for Rochas do discontinue a perfume like this :(

for me this is a unique scent. the only fresh scent that my mother liked. She likes heavy, viscous, floral and floral chypre scents. sometimes sweet sometimes not. musk. amber. oud. jasmine in a concentration that causes an atomic explosion and global extinction of species. She hates the light scent of a flower meadow, hates the scent of sea freshness.. but this scent is an exception. recognition from someone who basically hates such scents is the best possible praise.

I am carried away by the beauty and aquatic freshness by Aqua Woman. I can feel the warm rays of the sun warming my skin gently as the transparent blue beach water rushes and recedes. A cool breeze carries tropical flowers and sweet salty spray in my hair. Little colorful fish are swimming around my feet as I walk through the shallow beach. The notes of ocean, tender flowers, mild fruit and amber notes are so warm and cooling, like the sweet sea breeze Ah....

...so, I put this away for two years...now, it's June 2016, and suddenly I am compelled to write another review (I wasn't too taken with this perfume in 2014, I see...) Don't know what's changed about my chemistry, but now I am enchanted with Aquawoman! I am surrounded by a cloud of summertime oceanic breeze - ! Longlasting, sparkling and fresh! And I have 3/4 bottle left to enjoy this long, hot summer!

I reluctantly bought this last week, untested, and I am glad that I did. I absolutely adore this scent! When I spray this, it evokes images of an ocean breeze,wafting through windows on a hot summer day. The moment you smell this fragrance, you are left feeling instantly refreshed. I don't understand why this scent was discontinued when there are so many other (vile) perfumes in the Rochas range.

Finally I found another fragrance I could fall in love with! At first it reminded me of a romantic cologne my father used to wear but in a female version but then it has this fresh and aquatic (but not soapy!) note to it. Unlike any other "blue"/aquatic perfumes this one really fits the underwater scenery. I have to admit it reminds me of the movie Into The Blue.

I was lucky to get several decants of this perfume. It smells divine! The most feminine aquatic perfume which doesn't smell like bathroom freshener. I've tried many aquatic fragrances, but nothing smells even close to Aquawoman. 300 EUR for the bottle is not worth it, but if you see someone selling decants, it's worth trying!

Ordered this on Amazon and it arrived today. So far, what I'm getting is fresh, watery, oceanic...projection around a 6. Time will tell regarding Aquawoman's longevity. Something is telling me I paid waaaaay too much for this blind buy (I'll blame it all the rave reviews on Fragrantica!!)...to be continued...

This is one of the best ozonic/marine scent, a romantic sexy sophisticated freshness that takes you to those fruity hills over the sea. This is niche! A very hard-to-find fragrance...but a must have!! Love it. 10/10

I used to love this fragrance and searched for something similar for years. Aqva Divina by Bvlgari is pretty close, imo. It has the same aquatic and sharp, a bit masculine and strong character.

Skin scent cool dry, unisex salty bergamot rose excellent for a 30+ degrees humid day. Try before you buy! The vegetable like mango imitation is goregeous. No regrets...

Dear Rochas, please bring it back! After all these years, I am still thinking of it. It is, by far, the best fragrance, ever, for me. Please reconsider!
