Eau de Rochas Neroli Azur

This is absolutely beautiful! Maybe the best neroli scent I've ever worn and I've tried dozens. Soft and bright, also longevity is incredible for a citrus frag (they usually evaporate quickly). I own the two previous summer frags Citron Soleil and Orange Horizon as well and they are long lasting too. These summer editions have been nice surprises 'cause the original Eau de Rochas (I have a giant bottle) doesn't last long, only 15 minutes. Neroli Azur is already my new summer favourite and I ordered two spare bottles to make sure I can spray away.

I received a sample of it with a purchase. OMG, what a beautiful summer scent! Very creamy, well made neroli perfume. It can be a little sharp and leaning unisex if oversprayed but it doesn't need to be as it performs excellent for an EDT. I ordered a full bottle and I am now very curious to try Orange Horizon from them too as I love a good orange perfume.

A sibling of Escale à Portofino. Clean citrus, but nothing groundbreaking. It is perfect for summertime, if you are into this kind of scent, go for it!

I have no experience with the original Eau de Rochas, but I would love to. I have no idea how much of its original character resides in this Neroli Azur flanker, but it’s alright; nothing special, nothing bad, just meh. In a way that’s worse, perfume should evoke emotion but instead I just can’t bring myself to care about it either way. The neroli is the part that’s nice, I think that’s been done quite well, it’s bright and soapy with subtle touches of greenness to save it from becoming too ‘perfumey’. The fleeting citrus is unfortunately smothered by a thick cloud of scratchy musks and ambers, as is customary in the 2020s as everyone demands longevity over anything else sadly. As I said it’s simply a boring perfume, you can’t really dislike it but I have a hard time imagining this would excite anyone. Anyway, I look forward to introducing myself to the original.

Tested it in a store and couldn't wait to scrub it off. The opening neroli note is nice. After that, imagine the harshest dish soap you can find, mixed with sweat. I don't want to insult any old ladies, but it smells very dated. Maybe it also doesn't agree with my skin chemistry, but I definitely won't touch this perfume again... Please test before buying.
