Tocade 2018

First I have to give a warning about the company Carethy. I was ordering what they showed and told was the 2013 version of Tocade, very happily, since this was the only company I could see having that version. It was seemingly cheap, but then they added a huge shipping fee... ok, I accepted that, since I was glad I had maybe a last chance to get the 2013 version, which I had heard is a little bit different - with good reviews. But then - it took forever for my parcel to arrive, and it was strangely difficult to track it. I just found some weird messages that it had arrived to the ”parcel shop” but it did not say where, and it even looked like it had ended up in Norway. I live in Sweden. Ok, finally I recieved a message of where to go get it, today. But it was poorly emballaged, the beautiful box was bruised. Thankfully the bottle was not broken. BUT - it was NOT the 2013 version at all!! I get somewhat angry about such misleading advertisement!! NOW - we are getting to the point! Which is to the actual review of Tocade, 2018 version. And it is nice! Mind that this is my very first impression. Putting the first little spray on: shared between my two wrists.(Not rubbed, properly just touched... 😌) This is much spicier than I thought it would be! I was a bit surprised; I have heard so much about it being so sweet, like the”first gourmand” and all that. I really was expecting a lot more vanilla from the very beginning. I did not feel very much rose in the beginning, either. After half an hour: still not very sweet. But more of both the vanilla and the rose now. But to me, it is actually a bit soapy!! Not what I had expected. A very nice soap, though!! Fresh, clean, somehow a warm soap, like some lovely soap that my mother loved in my early childhood in the 60:s. With some, a little sweeter, talcum powder on top of it. However; these kind of fragrances are the ones I often tend to love the most: creamy or soapy or powdery. This is what I have felt with fx Chanel no 5 edt, and even Chanel Coco - and who would have expected that??! Not I !!! So, I am very pleased and happy with Tocade!! 🧡 It will surely develop more on me in the hours to come, and I will get to know it more when I have worn it a few times. So far - lovely!! A couple of hours later: yes, the Turkish Delight is spot on! Bathing in the powdered sugar and all.

Bergamot, makeup powder and rose at the open. The lemony note fades somewhat but stays around faintly for a few hours. Mostly it's a beautiful super feminine dusty pink rose iris & powdered dry vanilla. More powdery than I expected with something like violet to my untrained nose. Vintage lipstick and powder too. Tocade seems to me to be both a deeper vintage than its original 1994 release date and a completely modern rose vanilla. I could see Vivian Leigh or Merle Oberon using something like this on the set of some 1930's film sitting at a dressing table with a satin gown on. It's also so modern that if Tocade had a name & bottle change and sat on a counter at Nordstrom for over a hundred dollars people wouldn't blink an eye or consider it dated. Tocade is not of the 90's really she is both ahead of her time and a charming throw back to, I don't know, the 1930's or 1950's. The bottle makes me think of carnivals and trapeze artists. I wouldn't be surprised if this sat on the trapeze artist's vanity in Wings of Desire even though Wings of Desire is an 80's movie and this is a 90's release. The circus bottle would fit perfectly with the romantic beauty and magical realism of that movie. Time travel make it so. Although I never tried the original 90's version it's probably better, not because I don't love this, I do, but because most of the familiar to me older perfumes I've tried recently have lost some depth and longevity. I remember seeing the Tocade bottle on display at department stores in the 90's and unfortunately ignored her because she sat next to the Poisons, the Joops, the Chanels and other more familiar perfumes. Somehow Tocade, to me, is like a trapeze artist. Not really out of place in current time but a welcome divergence that brings a smile to your face and maybe a little worry about the stunts she's performing and if she can survive. I hope she outlasts them all.

Second day wearing this. It is very lovely, and I will wear this when I don’t want to offend anyone. But still - I think it is a little bit weak... I thought it was going to be a lot more pungent. Thinking of maybe trying Mancera Roses Vanille for that?? But I have already discovered, that this one is very lovely to layer with other fragrances. One combination - forgive me here, I know that for some people Samsara is the untouchable holy grail - but, however wonderful, I think Samsara edt (the new one) also is a little too weak on me. But these two together - wow! They both enhance eachother’s most beautiful notes, and suddenly the whole concoction gets stronger. But not too strong, and I will still be able to feel both Samsaras and Tocades individual beauties, shining through! And I can imagine putting Tocade on top of Habanita, to give it extra rose... And yesterday evening, I was mixing Ombre Rose (Brosseau) and Tocade, before bed. A wonderful way to fall asleep. A little grandma-ish, in a good way. This morning I’m wearing it alone. Home-y, cosy. And my cat loves it - she licks my arm lovingly!! She loves everything vanilla... 😻

This is either very odd in itself... or I just totally misinterpreted what to expected. The texture I get is very watery. It's rosy, sweet and green. It is not unpleasant but I expected something thicker, nuttier, a little smoky. This, on me, acts like a cologne with a surprising 8h (plus?) longevity. I wish I had something to compare it to because it took me by such a surprise I feel like I have a different product entirely. I'll say the bottle is lovely to hold, above all. The look is interesting, reminds me of fireworks, but it doesn't compare to how fantastic it is to use. I'll keep working with it, give the bottle some time to breathe, wait for warmer weather. / Edit / Just noticed this makes me think of lipstick, maybe other lip products too, in 00s or so. I definitely get a powdered sugar vibe which I can see giving people the Turkish delight impression with the ultra-watery rose. I also noted that the hint of green makes me think of green tea... not bitter but kind of like that sweetened Arizona drink?

Turkish Delight. And nothing but Turkish Delight. 🙄🥱 Still like it, but I would never care enough about it to buy it again. It is really a pity, that you cannot try every fragrance before you buy. Edit; just half a year later! (July 30, -24) Suddenly, this has become one of my favourites!! How? It just shows, I think, that you should give a fragrance another chance. Maybe this, for me, has something to do with the fact that my husband loves this on me. But also that I am now myself in need of a soft and reassuring fragrance, as I am struggling with a period of much, much too much to do. And now I can feel a lot more than the ”Turkish Delight factor”. I can feel the depth of the fragrance, and the other noter - not just rose and powdered sugar, as I did before. Maybe I am beginning to get the hype. So I have now changed this from a like to a love.

I like this. This teeters gourmand but is not over the top or too sweet. I can really smell the vanilla and almonds and with the rose the sweetness morphs between lokum and sugar-coated almonds served at Italian weddings. Silage and longevity seem pretty good too. Cute, but strange bottle, reminiscent of something you would see at a carnival. Update - I'm wearing this fragrance again today and I am so enjoying it. Maybe it has something to do with the weather (rainy and damp out) but I am getting a lot of other notes out of this in addition to the notes I originally smelled. In particular, jasmine, a powdery iris, and a resinous, leathery labdanum in the base. I wish it smelled like this all the time as I really love how it smells right now.

Apparently I'm drawn to Tocade every January. I'll never use up this bottle. When I first bought it I thought it was plasticy or petrol smelling. "Oh lord another disastrous reformulated classic." But I used to have the same reaction to many amber vanilla fragrances, even "quality" ones such as my Shalimars. My bottle is now coming on 4 years in age and every year the juice has improved. It still has a petroleum vibe, but in the deliberate style, like Fahrenheit, not because it's built on cheapo molecules. Perhaps my uneducated nose. Perhaps I've become used to a bizarre smell. It is not an easy foodie gourmand vanilla in any case. Tocade is definitely grown up "perfume" style with some edge. And it's not a powder bomb on my skin.

Tocade is a dreamy, fluffy, powdery, almondy fragrance. I didn’t know what to expect, and I’m happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. I would never classify it as a gourmand fragrance: rather, it belongs in the powdery-lipsticky category. The scent pyramid is mostly correct: Tocade opens with geranium, then turns powdery with the arrival of iris and rose, while the base consists of almond, vanilla, tonka and amber. I love the fact that it’s not overly sweet, because the almond note adds slight bitterness to it, while amber provides the camphorous-resinous element. Everything is well blended and nothing stands out too much. Tocade is a soft fragrance; it’s classy, pretty and totally office friendly.

Holy moly! On my skin there’s way more labdanum than the votes suggest. It’s super bracing and interesting. The labdanum and vanilla/tonka together reminds me of Lush’s Rentless, which is one of my faves and discontinued. It’s not a one-for-one match, but both have a similar balance of sweet warm tonka/vanilla and chilly, powdery labdanum. Tocade adds a powdered rose that sits in between both ends, leaning towards warmth. I adore it and agree with all the calls to go ahead and pick up a bottle if you’re interested. Also, the bottle feels so nice in my hand! The glass is just the perfect weight, and I love the height of the bottle in in my collection.

My Tocade was made in March 2020 by Interparfum in France, so it is coming up on 3 years old. It macerates in the dark chez moi. I paid about 20 Euros online and it seems like fair value but not great value and I mostly smell the base notes from 20 minutes into the wear. But it lasts a long time and is a comfy vanilla amber scent. On ME. Would I recommend it? No, because this fragrance is divisive. I wore it last evening and the base developed stronger and stronger as the hours passed. I was lounging in bed, working a bit, not moving, and the fragrance worked on my imagination. It became rich. This evening, yesterday's spray lingers on my pillow.

I bought my 1st Tocade back in 1995, and l loved it so very much! And so on with this new baby; it has been raining her all of july and until now, today the sky is blue and the sun is shining, and my new Tocade came to me in my mailbox this morning, and, it smells fabulously in my nose, the warm amber and vanilla, and sweet tonka, the powdery Iris and other flowers, and (1995), my beautiful eldest son, and our wondeful golden retriever Nala, and lasagne and Skuteviken, my self-painted pink walls and deep red curtains, and my best friends and our long skirts, long drinks and my tight red dress.... - this is Tocade for me!!

Beautiful amber vanilla! I believe I have the 2018 version and I can't speak to the reformulation, but I love this. In the top notes, I get a strong blast of geranium and a subtle bergamot note that dissipates fairly quickly. After it starts to dry down, I notice the rose, vanilla and amber most of all. I also get a powdery note, which must be the iris. It is cozy, warm, comforting, and I reach for it in the evenings when I'm relaxing after a bubble bath. I get what people are saying about the plastic/doll head note, but I am completely here for it. This is not a safe blind buy, but absolutely full bottle worthy 8/10 😍❤.

Babyniks - is your bottle Made in France by Interparfums? My Tocade smells good. It's a "dimestore" smelling perfume now, of course. But really good and simple but complete. I can imagine how this could come off as a plastic smell. I say that because my recent bottle of Madame Rochas smells as you describe - plasticy. Still after over a year. I think it has to do with benzoin or benzoin equivalents. . Maybe you should pump out quite a bit of sprays, to see if that works. And wait a few months. Its not like you can return it, can you? And nobody wants an off bottle of perfume. Good luck.

I adore this ❤️ The bottle is do pretty and really stands out in my collection. The juice opens with a big dose of bergamot and geranium, that has an almost fizzy quality, like sorbet. The Jasmin and rose overtake the geranium, as the bergamot softens, the iris adds a sweet, powdery note. Then the base notes begin to come through. Mmmm! It settles as a beautiful, authentic Turkish delight. I applied 3 sprays around 5pm last night and could still smell it 7am, so it has excellent staying power. Projection is pretty good too. I shall be buying a back up bottle as soon as possible.

One last wearing before Spring! Iris is prominent on me. Iris, labdanum, and vanilla. Bergamot is light, just enough to balance the sweetness from getting heavy. A very unique blend of its own. Gestures at someone who is fun and nimble. Reminds me of a party in winter. Something lively contained within a warm protective shield. Editing this to add: this would make a nice companion to YSL M7. Editing again to add: I've actually been wearing this a LOT this Spring. We are having a cold spring where I am, but maybe this works better in warmer weather than I thought?

Iris, vanilla, rose, labdanum. No aldehydes. Very powdery. Slightly spicy, very dry. It's great! There are days when it comes across too lemony for a while, but there are days like today when it's all spicy-dry-ambery-powdery iris rose. Rose geranium is not a universally popular note, but I appreciate the slight herbal earthiness it brings here. I like Tocade on a cold and bright winter day. Also a great bedtime scent during the winter. Bottle is playful with a decent sprayer. I love the pretty red box. (new-ish bottle I bought off fragrancenet in 2021 or so)

Sherbet, like the stuff you dip a lollipop in to and lick it off. It reminds me of that, fizzy almost, delicious. But it has more depth, vanilla, a little powdery iris, rose, powdered sugar. The initial lemony sherbet fizz eases after several minutes but it doesn’t change that much at all on the dry down. On my skin it lasts 5/6 hours, longer on my clothes. It’s pretty powerful stuff! I love it, it’s one of my favourites, I do love sweet scents though and this one ticks the box in terms of staying power and sweetness.

Wow Tocade is deeply comforting with no off notes at all. Moreover, it sure is calling up a memory which I can't place - for food, a location, perfume? I don't know. It's uncanny. Now, go ahead, tell me this curio is a reformulated, watered down, bastardization of a once great perfume. I never knew it then, so I don't care! Tocade isn't complex but lasts a long time, should be low priced, and will be enjoyed. Very long dry down of soft slightly sweet, powdery, and floral vanilla.

I thought this was going to be roses and vanilla. But I think it is just very faint roses and plain boring sugar... and some hairspray, even if only in the beginning. And then just too weak. Sorry for just being so negative, but I was just expecting more - and since it was so praised by Luca Turin and all. Meeeh! Maybe if I put it in my coffee?? 🤔😬

When I opened the bottle, it immediately reminded me of Tresor. The same powdery sweetness which I love, probably from the vanilla, almond, tonka, labdanum and geranium so well blended together. These are the notes my nose can pick up. It lasts for about 4 hours on skin. It was a blind buy, but I already think I should get a second bottle.

Now that it's getting cold here, I get more of that rose-y sweetness here. There's a sharpness as well. One of my more intense but still quite wearable fragrances. I can definitely smell it through the mask. Edit: Wearing it today, I get a very spa or sauna-like fresh green tingle. What an exciting fragrance!

smells absolutely crazy. like windex in a camp way. i like it. its just really sharp geranium floral green smell with a deep sweet vanilla which i go blind to. its objectively cheap but i love it anyway and gladly piss everyone off when i wear it.

Vanilla + rosewater + amber. Made me crave rosewater Turkish delight. I'm nibbling my way through a box as we speak.

I compared the description of the OG formulation to that of the 2018 reformulation, and the earlier one seems more complete (for the 2018 formulation, that is) than the description that is currently on Fragrantica. For instance, I'm sure I have the 2018 version of Tocade because I bought it within the last few years (new in bottle). But I definitely smell notes that are not listed in this description, most prominently cedar. Anyone reading this would assume there was no woody note in the base of this formulation, and it simply isn't true. In fact, the cedar is probably the note that sings loudest on my skin. I also don't get any almond, as listed on this page (but not the page for the OG). Here are the notes from the original '90s formulation of Tocade; I can't say for certain that they're *all* in this bottle, but there are certainly many that aren't listed on this page. I don't pick up a ton of rose either. For me this is mostly a cedar-vanilla-amber fragrance with a touch of floral: "Tocade by Rochas is a Oriental Floral fragrance for women. Tocade was launched in 1994. The nose behind this fragrance is Maurice Roucel. Top notes are Geranium, Freesia, Bergamot and Green Notes; middle notes are Rose, Iris, Orchid, Magnolia, Jasmine and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Vanilla, Amber, Patchouli, Musk and Cedar."

This is a very comfortable scent to wear. I may be lucky in that I didn’t experience the original 1994 version or the previous reformulation (mainly because I have always found the aesthetic of the bottle so off putting!) so can look at this one for what it is. And it is lovely. There is something really playful about it, the vanilla tonka almond sweetness coming through but not in a sickly cloying way, the red amber and the aromatics present (not entirely sure what it is, the sharper side of geranium or something else not listed?) mitigate it and create an interesting contrast in the scent. There is enough going on in this one and it is one of these fragrances that the likes of old Guerlains do so well aka one with just enough ‘disharmonious’ or contrasting notes to keep your nose interested. Its also one that smells different for you to be in than to people around you. I like it so far. Need to keep testing in different weather to see how it develops. Currently available at great prices, worth checking out.

Substantially similar to ET Black Pearls, which is a bit similar to Tresor. I don't really enjoy this plastic-y rose note, which may actually be geranium. Both BP and Tresor have a more pronounced vetiver note that I think this sort of composition desperately needs. I'm not sure if this newer version has been dramatically changed, but this is very much not a masterpiece to my nose. I am trying this when it's 107 degrees out, so maybe I should pull it out again in the winter. It's odd that the plastic note is trying to morph into a boozy vanilla. I wish it would lean more toward that for me. Edit: the plastic notes mellow out after about 45 mins-an hour. Now it is very wearable and the sweet amber, powdery rose I expected. I just wish it wasn't so harsh in the beginning.

Bought a bottle of this recently for less than 25 euros! Not my usual type of scent but the addition of almond and labdanum attracted me - and I was feeling nostalgic as I used to sometimes wear this (original version) as a teenager in the 90s! To be honest, it is a fairly good facsimile of the original, which is a pleasant surprise, given the quality of some 'reformulations' that are being churned out. I would have thought the addition of some the new base notes would have increased the longevity but it hasn't - although it's still OK for an eau de toilette Inoffensive, safe blind buy and good value for money

I as fearing the beautiful 2013 version was killed, but not really! Surprisingly, this is not super different from the 2013 version. It's just a tad sweeter and smoother, and less woody, but definitely not different enough to justify having both in my eyes. I don't really understand how it's possible considering the pyramid is very different, probably there's more notes than listed I guess. I think this version is a little more mainstream nowadays and therefore wearable, not necessarily better, but if I didn't already have a huge bottle of 2013 version I'd gladly have gotten this one :)

A perfume that smells of powdery vanilla, flowers and amber. Simple and effective, joyful and sensual at the same time, almost mischievous. Timeless too. And for a low price online please! What more could you ask for? However, I have a small reservation; sometimes a slight smell of "plastic vanilla" appears before disappearing. When that unpleasant note is there, you have to endure it until it fades away again. Tocade nevertheless remains excellent value for money and I can only recommend it to those who like vanilla.

I spent quite some time searching for a perfume that has a Rose Turkish Delight scent and it seems like this is the one! There’s no screechy notes, no sharp citruses or smoky wood. The amber gives it a depth but isn’t overbearing. it’s very much rose and geranium, vanilla and tonka with a slight powdery Iris and almond that gives the feel of powdered sugar. This could absolutely become sickly but I’m very happy to have it!

the beginning is mostly vanilla and geranium with rose. awhile later i get some amber, labdanum and iris. thankfully the geranium calms down, as it is a note i personally dislike in large amounts, though i still detect it. a gourmand, powdery rose with hints of herbals, that eventually fade. you're left with an amber/vanilla rose which will be nice for fall and winter.

It’s well blended and the florals transition to the vanilla well. A powdery lipstick vanilla. This is a classic. I think of suits with blazers and heels, red lipstick.

I am not 100% certain that my bottle is the 2018 version, but given the color of the juice, I believe it is. The thing that makes me question if it's an early version is the metallic quality of the rose, which seems to be associated with the 2013 version. I am not a fan of metallic notes, but in Tocade, it seems that quality is only evident when I sniff my wrist shortly after application. When I wave my hand,it is softer and I can really appreciate the combo of rose, vanilla, and amber. Iris is not detectable to me, but I think that given time to settle down, the supporting notes will be more pronounced, adding some depth to composition. Truly a very pretty composition, there isn't really any other perfume I can compare it to. Longevity is problematic, so I will try to mix some into an unscented lotion to see if that will help. Luca Turin calls it a masterpiece, and maybe it was in it's original form. As it is now, I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it is very beautiful. I seem to be a fan of Rochas fragrances save Madame Rochas - vintage Byzance EDP is definitely a contender for my favorite fragrance - and will have to explore it further. I find the bottle to be a bit ugly, and think it contrasts with what is within, but who cares? I may hunt down a 2013 and original sample just to compare, but overall I am pleased EDIT - Now that it has had time to settle down, I am appreciating Tocade much more. It could be the cold and damp weather, but I sprayed some on before bed last night and still got whiffs this morning, perhaps from my clothes. I sprayed some more on this morning and it seems much fuller, with a jammy rose and sweet vanilla wafting around me, minus the metallic edge I first commented on. This iris lends powderiness, though I still can't detect it as an individual note. I like it very much, but it just misses being a love for me only by comparison to others I truly love. I recommend it though - bottles are easy to come by at very affordable prices!

I have to agree with @rene.saller ... I don't smell any almond and I could swear there is patchouli in the drydown. She smells cedar, which also could be..there is something woody in the drydown, which is the best part. A sweet vanilla in the opening, but on me, it's more rose, jasmine, amber, patchouli and cedarwood..the longer it's on the more I find myself really liking this. Smells much more in line with an older version of this perfume description. The Van lla doesn't hang around on me very long. They don't make perfumes that smell like this, when you think of all the Donna Born in Roma, Paradoxe, Libre, types and all the fluffy gourmands. This does have a vintage appeal. I also love the price and the sillage is pretty good too. Hard to find anything to complain about with this perfume. EDIT- after about an hour, the vanilla came back..vanilla, amber, cedarwood..just like @rene.saller said.. It really does have levels, where the scent changes. Vanilla, Amber & Cedarwood..nice!

The notes made it seem like it would be right up my alley, but this just smells really really vintage-y to me, and not in a nice way. The geranium is just a topnote, so I thought it would make way for the heart of rose and iris. It does not. That geranium is here to stay and totally outweighs the rose. The drydown is nice enough, inoffensive vanilla and labdanum, but overall this fragrance is very weak. I never sniffed the original, and I have no doubt it was stronger than this reformulation.

The key to modern perfumery is: reformulate or die. Tocade is an example of this. The 2018 version must be the reformulated version of what must have been a true masterpiece. The result is a whiff of floral, powdery, almond greatness so faint, it's like a faded photograph of a beautiful woman. When the last trace of it fades, you're left wanting more, but never quite get it. This blind buy will be returned.

I thought I was getting the 1994 version, but I think I have the 2018 version, although it is difficult to tell, because apart from the colour of the liquid they look the same to me. The bottle caught my eye on another fragrance website and it said that it appears to be still in production. The 1994 version has rave reviews here and it has many of my favourite notes in it, the perfumer behind also did L'Instant de Guerlain, which I really like, so I thought this was a safe blind buy when it appeared in my local TK Maxx. Now, none of the notes smells remotely like those listed in the 1994 listing, so I got suspicious. I am still dubious about what I got, because I cannot smell any bergamot or rose or any of the other flower scents listed here either. The only natural scent I get from this is that sometimes I think it smells of blackcurrant in the opening. My husband said it smelled "vintage" like the scent from the 20s, and I agree, it has some of that sparkling quality that Shalimar has, which is a bit difficult to pinpoint, but in this fragrance, the notes are similar to the fizz of Sherbet. It also has a powdery sweetness on dry down. However, this is where the good parts end. It has some extremely dry, artificial tones, that make it hard for me to love. The opening has a really harsh note, that reminds me of vinyl and I even get a whiff of acetone there. When it dries down, the powdery and vanilla notes have the quality of sweet fragrance but left on a plastic bath sponge after a foam bath. The foamy bath sponge scent comes through quite strongly throughout the whole wear -I can still smell it on fabric for a day, and on my skin it goes away only after a few hours, and only when I apply the scent in a miniscule amount. The harsh dry note also sometimes has the quality of the smell you get when a printer just printed a lot of paper, and the paper you get is still warm. The smell is sweet, but it also tends to tickle you in the throat. I got it to smell somewhat nice and "perfumy" only when I applied it to my skin in a tiny amount and after it had time to evaporate for a couple of hours, but it is close to the skin by then, and it still retains some of that extreme tickle in the throat bath sponge/printed paper dryness. I don't get at all that it is a classic or wearable scent. It fits more in the experimental/artificial corner of scents. It is a dystopian scent, something that a vinyl android dressed in 1940s clothes would smell of, after putting a laser beam through a pile of papers, in an apartment decked in orange plastic furniture with polyester fittings. The initial scent worn by the android would be blackcurrant, sherbet, vanilla, and powder, but it would be overpowered by the vinyl of its skin and the destruction it did. I don't hate it, because I find all fragrances interesting, but what I get from it does not align at all with what it is supposed to do.

Help! I cannot understand this fragrance at all. All I get is a plasticky slightly powdery slightly floral slightly ambery scent. But mainly it’s plastic plastic plastic from initial spray alllll the way to the dry down. Like the Barbie head smell. I’m so so disappointed. I don’t get any vanilla or caramel and the rose is too faint to even really notice. I ordered it from overseas and it’s been a week since I got it. It smelled awful when I first tried it so I kept it in my closet hoping that it would develop after calming down a bit. But after a week it’s still the same :( does it smell like this to anyone else ??? Should I let it sit for longer?

If you’re buying this, in the hopes of scoring a Woman in Gold dupe by Kilian, then don’t do it. The opening has SLIGHT similarities, but it’s nowhere near close. It actually has a note (or several) that I do not like, which WiG doesn’t have (thankfully). It also smells very vintage / old (and not in a good way), which makes sense, as it is an old fragrance, but it simply smells outdated and bad. Unfortunately it was a disappointing blind buy, but only because I was looking for a WiG dupe for a more affordable price. If that’s not your intention, then you might like it, but not comparable to WiG, sadly.

Received a decant of this in a swap, because my friend thought I might like it. Unfortunately, on my skin, it's a truly awful opening--probably the worst of any scent I have ever owned. It gets better as it dries down though, and I totally agree with @pratikshamalayil: "Has a plastic accord...it does smell like a baby doll or Barbie. Also smells vaguely like Froot Loops!" By the end, it's almond-tonka-floral reminiscent of plastic dolls, with an 80s vintage vibe, and still not my jam. I didn't scrub, but I also don't feel I would ever want to wear this again. Decent longevity.

Tocade is a Fruit cocktail! Bursting with deliciousness and fun! Today 25th July 2025 I received a Full bottle 100ml edt Tester in Brown cardboard box from FragranceX from USA £ 18! I live in Dorset, England. Definitely a Rochas very similar to Femme but the Geranium note is very prominent also the vanilla for sweetness. I love the bottle very Art Deco. A very wearable Fragrance for 2025 made with quality ingredients. This is not a watered down girly sweet cheap perfume for the money its fantastic value. I still prefer Femme, My top choice from the house of Rochas. I also own Eau de Rochas and Byzance. Both lovely. The drydown on Tocade is heavenly. Very sensual with the vanilla and amber. Sweet but sexy. I would urge anyone who has considered but overlooked this fragrance to buy it and give it a go. If you are unhappy regift or sell on ebay. I am so glad I purchased this fragrance. It's a love ❤️ for me. But then I am a perfume Addict with a very large collection and a collection of miniatures. There's always room for one more! 🤣 Enjoy! ❤️🙏

I understand that 'Tocade' means something akin to 'whimsical', but any sense of whimsy in this perfume seems to end with the eccentric bottle design. The scent itself is an unsubtle and poorly blended brute, where the main notes all aim to fight each other for which can be crowned as most unamusing and overbearing. The three main phalanxes of attack are: 1. a harshly green rose (+ rose geranium). 2. an indelicate take on orris powder (listed here as 'Iris'). 3. and a too-powerful vanilla & coumarin (tonka) enriched amber In theory, all these notes could play together nicely, but something has gone wrong here. The balance has been lost, along with any sense of grace or delicacy.

I love it! Not sure why I was expecting more of a vintage vibe. Definitely turkish delight, lots of rose, the geranium shines and makes this very aromatic, and plenty of amber and vanilla. I actually got this as part of an iris sample pack, but it's not really powdery unless you get the turkish delight powder association. Nonetheless this is beautiful rose gourmand and the geranium really takes it up a notch. Now it might be my nose today as I've been smelling a million beautiful things, but it doesn't seem to last that well. Drydown is a bit shy. I will try again to confirm. Love the ambe juice colour! Overall it's a win but I do wish it had more staying power.

Delina by Parfums de Marly smells Tocade's rose-flavoured-Turkish-Delight goodness . . . and spends the night sobbing into her pillow. Tocade is everything she wished she could be. Run don't walk to the grey market and get your paws on some. New formulation, old formulation, I like 'em both, and they are both here to show PdeM (and everybody else) how to do a cheerful vanilla rose right, and at a quarter of the price. Rochas was once a perfume house to be reckoned with, and it still has some hidden gems like Femme, Tocadilly, Lumiere (old formula) and Byzance that are well worth spending a few coins on, to try a slice of perfume history. The opening is beautiful rose-iris-vanilla, but sadly it doesn't last more than ten minutes (on me). Then it's a big camphoraceous ambery thing, with just a smidge of vanilla smoothing it out. I can imagine the right person absolutely adoring this. That person isn't me! I wanted the rose-iris-vanilla, but that first ten minutes don't justify keeping this unfortunately.

On my skin it turned into an aldehydic herbal window cleaner scent with vanilla.. Not a safe blindbuy, just saying. Very herbal & sharp vanilla. I really wanted to like this one... maybe it could work as a winter scent, but def not in a hot summer day. P.s. For a beautiful vanilla I would recommend Byzance by Rochas instead.

I’m utterly in love with Tocade! To me, it is absolutely gourmand, but not in a syrupy vanilla cake type of way, but in a hard boiled sweet type of way. It reminds me of a specific type of large hard candies covered in powdered sugar that you would get in a metal tin in the tax free shops on ferries and airports.

The 2018 batch is sweeter and more likeable than the 2013 batch. It's like he's 5 years younger. I feel the pleasure of rose delight more clearly. has been more modernized. Considering its affordable price, constant refreshing does not cause any problems. I'm in love with this. buy a bottle without thinking
