Rodin

Imagine a vase full of jasmine and lilies, only the water is a bit cloudy and the edges of the flowers are starting to turn brown. This what Rodin smells like to me. Its a heady mix of indolic over ripe wilting white flowers with a slightly doughy and thick feel. A heavy as it is, Rodin is not overly strong or pungent, as this is a perfume formula, so it stays close to the skin and it does not over power. This is a beautiful and well made fragrance with just enough pungency to make a statement. If find this unisex (yet sexy) in that as a guy I can pull off. Think Tom Ford Jamin Rouge but toned way down and more rounded, muted and soft. I can apply 4-5 sprays of this and not annoy anyone around me, in fact I do wish the volume was turned up a notch. Still it's a great fragrance. If anyone enjoys the scent of Rodin's signature oils, then you will like this, its the same basic scent. Too bad the whole line has been discontinued, it was top notch quality stuff.

This is my "go to" jasmine perfume. It's Jasmine in the height of it's bloom, heady and intoxicating and so authentic in it's expression. After a while, it's jasmine with a crisp, bright and grassy quality. This perfume makes me think of France. The arrangement is simple and sophisticated. Like wearing a basic white button up shirt, ankle skimming jeans, ballet flats and red lipstick. A fragrance "essential" GenevaX's review echo's closely to my experience of this scent too. The only thing different for me, is that this lasts, and lasts on my skin. I get good projection too. I need to buy back-up's...

This is heavy jasmine with some supporting florals, but it's extremely luxurious and pretty. The jasmine isn't particularly indolic after the dry down. Instead, there's an unusual hay-like note that adds a grassy aspect to an otherwise straightforward floral bomb. I really like the combination of sophistication and earthy rawness. As others have noted, it doesn't have monstrous projection, but that's never a negative for me. It's long-lasting, intimate, and sexy. For fans of Rodin's face oil, it's a perfect, slightly amped-up translation of that scent into perfume.

I love this but the dry down gives me a migraine. It’s a fresh jasmine bomb. I usually mix with an iris fragrance to dilute the headache dry down. It lasts forever. One of the few I bought a backup bottle, even though I can only wear this once in a while. I like Teint de Neige Eau de Parfum by Lorenzo Villoresi for a mix. I turn into a powder bomb! I usually smell it the next day if I don’t shower. I think it’s jasmine with a little neroli or bergamot, but I’m no expert.

Like Chanel no 5 with only the sexy bits intact. Lusty and big boned for the first hour of wear and then it leaves suddenly. Lack of development and longevity keep me from buying this very expensive bottle yet it's seriously one of the best perfumes I've smelled. Grrr...
