Vanille Soleil

What a great cold, floral vanilla. It's icy and unapproachable like rich women stepping out to luncheon after a heavy snowfall. It ellicits layers of meticulously tailored garments in monochrome palettes, draped and creased just-so, transforming money-slim frames into ambulatory brutalist sculptures. Hair carefully coifed and frozen in place with pins and product. Faces made-up sheer but sharp, lips lined the barest shade darker for dusty lavenders and matte, cool taupes. It's like exaggerated feminine form — too stark, too architectural, just too unnaturally orderly and perfect. The florals are SO strong, sweet, balsamic. Repulsive yet intriguing. This smells like a glacial stare, a polite smile that doesn't reach the eyes. Moderate sillage and decent performer (~6hrs). I've smelled so many hyperrealistic gourmand vanillas, the piercingly synthetic and alien quality of Vanille Soleil is honestly a breath of fresh air. And it just works somehow, anytime, anywhere. You can dress it up or dress it down. It layers well with berries, herbal/green and resinous woody scents. It's my favorite "please do not approach me and maintain a WIDE berth" perfume. Crazy affordable. Such an easy winter reach. Love it.

Oh I just love this. It's a light, airy, soft, aquatic vanilla. It's powdery not in a baby powder way but rather like that powdery dusting some candy has, like the way caramel fragrances are often powdery. It's interesting to have a salted vanilla rather than a salted caramel. I think I would like to explore this scent profile more as I'm finding it so pleasantly unexpected. It's not a strong or particularly long-lasting fragrance. I get about 5 hours from it and it sits pretty close to the skin. To me that is just what I want on a warm summer day at the beach or park, nothing that is going to overwhelm. If you want a heavy, sticky-sweet, gourmand beast this is not going to be your thing. Then again it does lean gourmand and is sweet, so if you're looking for a straight out of the shower summer freshie this may not be your thing either.

I’m a huge fan of the natural scent of vanilla. A moist, high-quality vanilla pod with a nuanced balance of sweet and slightly bitter notes... unbelievable! But I haven’t been able to find that in perfumes. All these beast-mode gourmands smell, to me, like sticky, sugary vanilla syrups that people use to ruin their coffee. This, on the other hand, is a wonderfully balanced, natural-smelling vanilla. It smells like summer, like delicious vanilla treats you have on vacation, like jasmine on a warm summer evening... A very, very simple and beautiful scent! No longevity whatsoever, but that adds to its beauty, in my opinion.

This scent is so soft and light. A nice vanilla that is not sickly sweet. A beautiful salty floral opening that dries down to a ambery sweet vanilla. Very comforting smell. I was a little scared that the ylang ylang would be strong but no it's just there to guide your nose to the amber. This is very nice for summer and all year round I find. I'll probably use it as well to do a little layering with other perfumes. It's a nice light airy creamy vanilla. It's an EDT... so might be different on everyone for longevity...

Finally, a graceful vanilla, with the right transparency and a watercolor elegance. Finally, something you can wear with class and nonchalance, without looking like a sticky slice of cake. It's lively, fresh, salty and fruity, like carried by a floral breeze. Yes, finally, vanilla like sunshine. Of course, this beautiful airiness won’t correspond to the heavy scented ciment that some people want, you won't need a trowel to spread it around the public square, but I suggest you enjoy this fact.

it does smell very similar to Chloe Vanilla Planifolia. Sweet, green, a little funky, just like Vanilla Planifolia. I try to convince myself that I like these two, but man... it's difficult. I am used to a sweet vanilla, no green no funk. I also don't love extremely gourmand vanillas. I feel like this is the next level for vanilla lovers - Vanilla Powder by Matiere Premiere (or Immortal Vanilla by Zara which is easier on the nose than Vanilla Powder) or Vanilla Planifolia by Chloe, maybe even Infusion de Vanille by Prada (which is FUN-KY). All of this just to say that this vanilla direction is not bad at all, but challenging and for some reason very addicting. I wanna go back smell it again, be repulsed then smell it again and like it. I think I might buy this and Immortal Vanilla to acquaint myself with green vanilla, without breaking the bank.

Mm.. I love this. It’s so vanilla creamy sunscreen lotion without any heaviness or stuffiness. It’s perfect for summer, sort of like a near ideal pool side summer scent. It goes so well with sun screen and all the other lotions you need to tan well and protect your skin. Sexy, kind of slutty, and a little domestic-party girl. I will very likely be wearing this all summer 🌺🌞💧🌺🌺

It's nice, non edible vanilla. Bright and fluffy. Longevity is not the greatest, even for R&G, and I didn't find a grain of salt. But then, salty vanilla was a bad idea anyway. There is nothing really wrong with it, it's just a bit boring.

Very interresting perfume ! As the same vibe that Aqua Allegoria Vanilla Forte. I adore the gel shower ! The Edt is beautiful but a Little too light, need to overspray !

This also reminds me Aqua Allegoria Bosca Vanilla Forte. It's vanilla with a little saltiness but unfortunately I get zero longevity from it.

The initial spray reminded me of Valentino Donna Born in Roma, however it dries down to a more bitter/mature scent, perhaps more unissex leaning. It also reminds me of an old school scent from Avon, I cannot remember the name but it immediately takes me back to the 90's. Can definitely pick up the salt notes, it makes me think of the ocean. I like it a lot actually, and I think it is quite versatile, you could wear it either if it's winter or summer. The projection seems ok for the price, not sure yet about longevity but will update. Good blind purchase so far.

This does not smell like natural vanilla. Any traces of vanilla are overshadowed by piercing aroma chemicals mimicking salt and amber. Given how artificial it smells, the longevity on my clothes is easily 12 hours and more. The comparison to Olympéa by Rabanne is spot-on.

I'm not not sure that I'm picking up on the salty top note, but nevertheless, this is a pleasant summer fragrance that is office/workday appropriate. In other works, its suitable for warm weather without screaming "beach vibes" like something you would wear in a string bikini while on a sun lounger. Its warm, slightly powdery, and fresh. Not especially long-lasting but a great scent for the price point. Roger & Gallet recently made their bottles a little more uniform/boring, but the scents are great value.

To me this smells just like Chloe’s Vanilla Planifolia...but for a fraction of the price!!! I was at the store today and tested R&G Vanille Soleil and i was almost kicking myself for having paid so much for Chloe’s! To my nose they are pretty much identical, same moderated sweet/fresh vanilla, just beautiful and classy!

It’s a nice and clear vanilla fragrance. It’s a bit sweet but also fresh enough to wear on warm days. It’s pretty safe. I think it is a good option if you want a simple vanilla for layering.
