Verveine Utopie

A warm weather option with citrus, herbs and spices. For fans of this genre, Verveinne Utopie is a superb aromatic, fresh scent.... especially at this price point. Don’t expect major performance and you won’t be disappointed. This does exactly what extrait de cologne is suppose to do: slight projection, no sillage with a 2 to 3 hour lifespan. It’s not a complicated scent even though the note list is long. Very natural and easy to wear, I don’t pick up anything remotely synthetic. Would love a bottle of this cologne. It’s torture that this line is hard to get in the U.S. EDIT: 4-18-21 I now own this excellent cologne. My 30ml bottle was purchased new from a vendor in Hong Kong for less than $20, including shipping. We are having unseasonably warm Spring weather and Verveinne Utopie is a perfect companion. Someone voted that this smells like Under The Lemon tree, and I agree.

First blast of spicy cool cardamom, practically one-note, until a sweet grapefruit starts to bloom. Sweet spicy green fresh and aromatic; puts me in mind of the hand soap at my favourite Lebanese restaurant. Wonderfully spicy and interesting but not going overboard.. it's not confusing and it doesn't go all over the place with the spices. At the same time, I'm not sure I want to go around smelling like this and I think it's bc of the rosemary that starts to present after a couple minutes. I'd rather this was a candle or a soap. Unisex and best for cooler weather. 6+ hours later: The scent remained fairly linear on that citrus-y cardamom and ginger but it's very faint now.

Dusty, woody, unisex citrus. Very urban and neutral smelling.

Easily the most wearable verbena scent I've tried. It opens quite tart with a lot of verbena and lemongrass. Quickly evolves into pure verbena, and, after another ten minutes, to a slightly sweeter, aromatic and fresh verbena with hints of flowers and ginger. It never loses the verbena, but is much more interesting than a pure verbena. On a crisp but sunny fall day, Verveine Utopie is quite lovely.

Decent green, citrus smell. Opening is bright, citrusy and green, but I dont like the dry down. Its citrusy but with a lemongrass/bug spray aromatic backbone ( i assume from the mix of gentiana, fennel & rosemary).

Verveine utopie is not as long lasting as other extrait de colognes from the Roger and Gallet line but it's a very good quality smelling perfume and affordable, perfect for the summer heat. Of course for the fans of fruity sweet gourmand perfumes, such a bitter, herbal, dry scent with the occasional lemon natural sweetness is not an option. This will appeal more to those who like perfumey scents. Cooling and very enjoyable, relaxing and soothing. Unisex Well done, well done

Not a favorite of mine. The opening is very grassy and reminiscent of those anti bugs candles. Later it turns into an uninspired citrus. The other fragrances from this line are better.
