Vetifleur

I tried this from a sample pack of Rogue perfumes last summer when I was housesitting for three months. It stood out to me because I had developed a thing for N° 19 around that time, and the comparison to it here is not entirely wrong. While there are similarities, it is ultimately its own beast, and I spent that whole summer going back to the tiny roll-on sample to figure it out. Almost a year later, the full bottle has arrived. From a spray application, the initial burst of aldehydes are just gorgeous. It's clear now that the roll-on sample does not do this fragrance's top notes any justice. Once the bright fizz quickly dries down (and that's very quickly), you're dropped into a very deep green and floral brush, one that's elegantly fresh and gorgeously lush. And then it gets slightly dirtied, and I think that's what sets this apart from its comparisons. The indoles and muskiness help the fragrance stay radiantly green and earthy. The moss and iris over vetiver really complete this for me. It becomes this dusty dream. A true unisex signature.

This is a pretty spring green feminine floral. Very vintage smelling. The vetiver here is so pretty. Very high quality it adds fresh green and spicy nuances instead of overpowering the florals. A beautiful bouquet of roses, iris, jasmine and to my nose wildflowers without a trace of vanilla sweetness and thank God! I agree with the reviewer below. If you like Diptique Olene you will also adore Vetifleur. I can see a bride wearing this on her wedding day. It is extremely classy, refined, elegant, pretty and Uber feminine. There is such life and the exuberance of youth here! Oh how I wish young people would see the beauty in real florals perfumes and wear them while they are young. To me this smells of youth, innocence, beauty and grace. The perfect spring floral. Forever young... Forever beautiful.

Rich and mysterious, this is another beautiful chypre from Manuel Cross. The smoky vetiver and elegant oakmoss meld gorgeously with the indolic jasmine, the strong rose, and the iris. This is very floral (as the name promises), but could be easily worn by a man as well as a woman, especially because of the dark woodsy notes merging with the posy notes. If you like your fragrances powerful in that great 1980s way, this is yet another one to get.

This one opens with another quick trip to the Urgent Care clinic, evoked by the smell of freshly-opened bandaids. After that, it smells very much like it's named.... first a nice but not so impressive vetiver, then a very clear, nice bloom of flowers. If Rogues often open up like Mingus's "Let My Children Hear Music", this one is like one of Satie's Gymnopedies... quiet, simple, unassuming, pretty, and the kind of thing you turn to when you're not in the mood for a surprise. It's a nice enough smell. That's all. It's pretty unisex, even leans feminine. If you walked into a child's nursery and it smelled exactly like this, you wouldn't be surprised. I might even recommend wearing it as a leg up to anyone who is interviewing for a nanny position.

Gee, let's see what I can recall of it now that Fragrantica finally added this... It's been a few months and I'm working with only partial notes. Dry, green, soapy. Akin to a freshly opened package of Irish Spring bar soap with a hint of woody brush lurking beneath. Completely linear. Clean, pleasant, inoffensive, but not a standout. It's just another vetiver fragrance. Performance isn't weak but is fairly subdued, which I suppose is typical of this style of fragrance. It's fine but I wouldn't pay the premium to own this over loading up on 200mL bottles of Guerlain Vetiver.

Jasmine, dirty musk, indole, woody, leathery, hint of smoke from the vetiver I would guess. Iris shines through a little as it dries down. edit: Second wear and the indole is so intense in the opening. At least I think that's what I'm smelling. It's like you took a shit, sprayed jasmine air freshener in your bathroom, and came back in 5 min later.

I have Chanel No 19 EDP and had a bottle of No 19 EDT before. Vetifleur is more floral, especially more rosy, than both versions of No 19. Vetifleur is softer, more powdery, more feminine, while I feel No 19 has a unique transparent, crispy, glass-like characteristic, which I much prefer. A nice scent, will finish the sample but not FB worthy.

Vetifleur smells like a beautiful vintage, delicate and radiant, but also mysterious. An aldehydic floral, with indolic jasmine, darkened by cedar and oakmoss. I could never quite detect the vetiver, but sometimes it seems to have a hint of cigarette smoke. It makes me think of an elegant art nouveau woman.

A beautiful interpretation of Chanel's No 19. It is closer to the extrait on first application, then slowly becomes sweeter and more complex. Maybe slightly woodier than No. 19, too. Enjoying it, but it hasn't blown me away. I'll wear the hell out of it (I got the 30ml bottle), but won't repurchase.

This is a really beautiful soapy green floral. Unfortunately it’s so weak (especially in roller sample form) that I’m having a tough time distinguishing notes. To me this is spring as everything is starting to be awakened by the rain and warmth. If it had more oomph I would consider a fb.

Powdery, soapy, earthy, white floral. Somewhat difficult to distinguish all the notes, and not much that catches my attention one way or the other. Beginning is somewhat antiseptic. 5.5/10

Unfortunately for me, this one is akin to the following...... When I was a young lad visiting my Grandma in Crosby, Liverpool, I used to roam around her stuffy old house of many rooms and would often come across interesting objects that I would then, curiously, investigate. There was always some oddity popping up somewhere and, in her bathroom was old perfume bottles, some of which had that stem and balloon style atomiser and, more often than not, there was either a left over tiny spritz or the bottle contents had completely dried up but there was always a soft, old whiff of whatever was once contained AND they all seemed to smell the same. Just powdery, soft, incense remnant cloud puffed up my nostrils. This smells like a pungent version of that description. I purchased this because Manwell Cross claimed it to be the one he is most proud of during a Youtube interview. Now, i know he has a tendency to be rather nostalgic and he has definitely succeeded in creating a beautiful scent but, this is advertised as unisex. So, my position is, tell me one man that would enjoy going about his business carrying the aroma of his then 68 year old Grandmothers forgotten and abandoned puff ball scent bottles? Not me! And ive just spent the best part iff £100 for a 50ml privilege to do so! (Tutting emoji face)

True to this house, this has a clear vintage-inspiration. It's a classic feminine floral aldehyde, executed with precision and high quality naturals. I normally detest this sort of thing, I smelled Chanel No 5 way too much as a kid and the sharp aldehydes always made me scrunch my nose and recoil. This one is pleasantly effervescent, like a sparkling water with a slight fruit flavor. Still definitely not my thing, but I can respect the quality that puts this above its peers. Edit: I am EXTREMELY allergic to something in here. I haven't had any issues with the other Rogue scents so far so I think it might be the vetiver or the iris.

Rogue Vetifleur seems to be nothing special. Kind of musty and old fashioned. Someone’s attic which is supposedly full of treasures, but mostly an old cedar chest with some pressed flowers in a scrapbook? Not for me.

Such a satisfying perfume--Vetifleur, like everything Rogue perfumery does, has a heavenly vintage vibe. This is a crisp green floral that opens with just a tad of sweet rose before moving on to a bone-dry floral accord that calls forth images of crisp greenery and has the excellent posture of an old-fashioned chypre. Rogue's jasmine always smells just a little saline to me, and the supporting players come together with the elegance and zest of a vodka Martini. I always want more vetiver in the opening, but there is plenty in the heart and lots in the drydown. This layers marvelously well with other green florals and citrus fragrances (I like it with Diptyque's Oyedo, although I usually don't spray both on at once--I wait until Oyedo is in the latter stages of a day's wear, and then I refresh it with Vetifleur, adding a playful and more contemporary quality to this resolutely old-school composition). Cooling, refreshing, and definitely the kind of green floral anyone of any gender could wear--and should, in this reviewer's opinion.

Liked it a lot when I first sampled it; the opening shows a lot of promise with sparkling aldehydes & citruses, followed by florals, but quickly dries down to something that's too indolic & musky with the namesake vetiver still hidden from view. I can only tolerate something like this when it's packaged as a grand leather/Oriental chypre or accompanied by heavy florals—this just doesn't have enough pizzazz to carry that kind of "white" punch (It's no Inverno Russo or Melodie de L'Amore).

Very lovely, classy and elegant. A bouquet of roses, jasmine, and iris arranged with a touch of vetiver and oakmoss. For me a white rose and jasmine vie for first place, followed closely by the iris. The vetiver is understated and blends in with the moss, rather than being openly dark or smoky. I get a soft but definite sillage, and moderate longevity. Perfect for a quiet peaceful day, perhaps curled up with a cup of tea, looking out at the rain.

Smells like jasmine neroli aldehydes with some orange peels. I hate jasmine; this is not for me. Does remind me of the perfume I bought that they threw in this free sample with. It reminds me of Vivienne Westwoods' Boudoir. It's old-fashioned, femme, and filled with the sweetest, most powdery florals, and some bitter dark ambery notes.
