Isola Snow

Time and open mindedness are very important in this fragrance journey. Isola Snow showed me why spending time with a fragrance is critical. Being completely honest, this creation was not for me upon first wearings. After a handful of wears though, my mind has changed... Isola Snow truly creates the feeling of stepping into a bright, frozen landscape where sunlight reflects off untouched snow. It opens with an immediate burst of bergamot and peppermint, creating a crisp, cooling sensation that shimmers in the air. Hedione amplifies that feeling of brightness. This is scent is airy, diffusive, and slightly luminous, like cold winter air filling your lungs. As the scent develops, the heart softens the crisp opening with delicate florals and fruit. Pear adds a subtle, watery sweetness while lily of the valley and rose bring a clean, elegant floral nuance. The presence of Hivernal gives the composition its distinctive “cold air” effect that’s smooth and slightly minty, with a clean white linen character. At this stage, the scent feels serene and atmospheric, almost like standing in a quiet snow-covered garden. The base gradually introduces warmth with cardamom and rhubarb providing a gentle aromatic spice and tart nuance, while orris and rosewood lend a powdery texture, with refined depth. The presence of the chosen synthetics provides a soft, glowing warmth, like the sun beating off your skin. I find the contrast between the cooling nuances and the warmth from the woods to be compelling. Overall, after many wearings from a sample, Isola Snow feels like stillness. The scent captures the beauty of winter with icy freshness and the soft, enveloping warmth from the sun shining down on both the snowy landscape and your skin.

Can't wait to smell this one. Cotton has done well with his roja releases, in my opinion. Good blend of high end naturals with modern synthetics. Update: got it, smelled it, wore it. This will be a pretty big deal for Roja I believe. Modern, fresh, icy, complex, somewhat synthetic in the best way. The name is perfect. Its unisex, leans a hair masculine to me, but I could see others saying the opposite. This stuff is good. Also, it fits in winter and I think it will kill in warm weather as well. Watch out. Good stuff here.

This was a blind buy WIN for me. I didn’t know what to expect but I have to say this is like nothing I have in my huge collection and it’s smells amazing. It’s cold, clean, fresh, green, a little sweet and a bit floral but overall just very different and I am so happy to own it. I got 3 compliments in just one wear so far. It surprisingly lasted a round 8-9 hours on me and the more I kept smelling it the more I loved it.

It’s very fresh a blast of mint and freshness in the beginning, but later it turns mote Woody, flowery and ambery I liked it more than I thought! The opening is fantastic

Understated. But gorgeous. Easy to wear. Clean clean clean.

The initial opening is a minty and aldehydic scent with a light citrus undertone. 15 Min - I am starting to pick up more of the Hedione note which is giving the scent profile a floral twist and I am also getting some fruitiness from the Pear. 30 Min - The aledhydic scent is setting down and I am getting more os a floral scent with undertones of that sweet Pear note. 60 Min - At this point in the wear I am getting a light floral scent profile with some musky and soft wood undertones. I am also picking up a slight sweetness that is more than likely coming from the Rhubarb note. Dry Down - The dry down of this fragrance is a fresh and clean yet slightly musky scent profile with undertones of soft woods and hint of sweetness. Performance: Projection of this fragrance is OK with the frangrance creating a scent bubble of about 2 feet for almost 2 hours. The sillage is also OK with a scent trail of about 2+ feet for about 2 hours as well. Longevity on my skin is OK with the fragrance lasting on my skin about 5 to 6 hours, and becoming a skin scent at about 2+ hours. My rating on this fragrance is a 6.5 out of 10.

Perhaps due to the power of suggestion, the first breath of this fragrance conjures up a brilliantly sunny but crisp, cold day spent walking through a snow-covered pine forest and it is invigorating. As it opens up, though, a bouquet of lily of the valley and pear reveals itself and you sense that the snow is beginning to melt in the late winter sun. Crocuses and daffodils are emerging and fruit trees are budding. The soft white musk base keeps you warm throughout. Despite the snow in the name, I think this scent would work as well in the spring and summer as in the winter. Another beautiful blend from Roja and a tragic discovery for my wallet.

It has a very refreshing, though short, opening of bergamot, mint, and ozonic notes. The heart and drydown is pleasant earthy, musky woods. It wears fairly close - perhaps a small bubble. It’s a good fragrance for those days you want to put something on and never think about again. That hasn’t always been easy for me to find in a cool weather fragrance. If that’s what you’re looking for, this might be the fragrance for you. If you want something that will mentally whisk you away to a ski lodge in a winter forest glen, you might be disappointed.

Imagine leaving freshly washed laundry outside overnight in freezing cold, then bringing it back indoors in the morning. That’s exactly the association this fragrance gave me at first wear. Cold mint, a feeling of cleanliness and crisp air. At the same time, the scent is soft and enveloping, without sharpness I see it more as a summer fragrance than a winter one it is refreshing, but not piercing, not aquatic. I also wouldn’t classify it as a clearly citrusy scent Overall, a pleasant and solid new release

Although I don’t get the sensation of “snow” or “frozen landscape”, Isola Snow is still a nice enough fragrance. I get cleanliness with freshly washed hear pulled back, crisp white shirt or t-shirt, light blue comfy jeans, a glass of cold water, and all of that in a shade of a large tree on a warm sunny day. To me Isola Snow has lots of clean white musk, it feels molecular, but in a refined way, pretty feminine and very expansive for its full asking price, but that is subjective.

I've received a sample from Roja when i ordered another perfume, i smell ginger in the opening rather that peppermint its interesting and not loke other ROJA perfumed but i well give it more time to test it

Very unusual but intriguing. It's got this strange metallic scent mixed with herbaceous mint. It's Dracula's go-to. I might just get a full bottle.

Smells like megamare from orto pairisi after it settles down, in the beginning a big dose of peppermint but once settles very very close to megamare smell. High sillage and long lasting

Interesting concept perfume, it is very cold and fresh and because of that I would gravitate more towards it in spring time and even summer instead of winter.

Genuinely unpleasant, and the price point for this is insane. Opens with a shortlived blast of mint and a wet freshness, likely from hedione and linalool. The effect is brief and almost immediately gives way to a NAUSEATING salty marine calone note (presumably the snow accord), which smells more akin to chlorinated water or bleach than anything bracingly cold. Alongside this is the scratchy presence of woody super ambers and some subtle (but pleasant) muguet/Lily of the Valley materials. I can forgive this not being to my personal taste, but this is unforgivably bad as a composition: harsh, thin, scratchy, obnoxiously dominated by an overdose of a polarising material (the calone), and conceptually weak...where is the coldness? The rest of the Isola collection weren't to my taste, but when I smelled Isola Snow, I did decide I'm done with the house after 15 years of purchases. I have no interest in seeing where this development of the brand will take things: quality certainly isn't at the forefront of thinking anymore.

🏝️ ❄️ & 🐧 ❄️ Interestingly, I've found Isola Snow and Zoologist Perfumes' Penguin to be quite similar. I recently had both on separate blotters, and this morning, I was certain I was smelling Isola Snow, but it turned out to be Penguin. Upon comparison, they share a very comparable base note composition featuring a strong musk, citrus, and metallic scent, and both project strongly. However, Isola Snow has a more delicate opening of bergamot, mint, and ozonic notes compared to Penguin.

On paper this smells like a winter candle but when put on skin, this is very harsh and irritating to the nose and throat. It has a sort of medicinal, icey smell to it when I smell it on my hand, as if it was Rojas version of an icey hot smell. In the air maybe this is nice, but I have no way of gauging that as I am reviewing this on my own. Might be the strangest fragrance I've ever smelled

For whatever reason, the drydown on this reminds me of Orto Parisi's Bergamask. The opening is different but after wearing this for a couple of hours, I was shocked at how close the two smell. Nonetheless, this is a pleasant fragrance and Roja continues to be my favorite House as they rarely disappoint. The performance is quite good which is contrary to the usual knock with Roja releases.

Surprisingly impressive. The fragrance never attempts to simulate après-ski clichés or holiday-brochure imagery. Instead, it captures something more specific: the moment of solitude on a mountain before the crowds arrive, when fresh powder remains unmarked and the air tastes like nothing at all.
