Pierre de Velay No. 25

This is an iconic masterpiece summer fragrance for those who appreciate complex green citrus scents like Xerjoff Nio with a classic twist. They say this is similar to Midsummer Dream or Fortnum and Mason, although amped up in quality, but I cannot comment as I have not tried these. It is less bitter than Nio and opens with a citrus melange lifted by aldehydes before the florals kick in and then the green notes, which are more forest floor than bitter. The base is complex with sweetness spice and warmth to buffer the green notes. All in all it is a summer masterpiece that shines on the hottest days, oozing with class, detail, silage and longevity. It is more soapy and powdery and less better than Nio, with a warmer and more complex dry down, but still from the same wheelhouse. Classic green citrus reeking of luxury and money, while also being easy to wear. I think I like this more than Isola Blu, which I also have.

This is so good.. very smooth, rich and clean.. you get a zesty lemon in the top and then it settles into spicy soapy clean dominated by ginger on my skin.. my wive love it!

This is an amazing and outstanding fragrance! So original, gorgeous and long lasting. It is a blasting powerfougere and one of my wife's favorites too.

Pierre de Velay No. 25 is an aromatic woody citrus made for the modern man who wants to make a statement whilst still smelling classic. It opens with a gorgeous cocktail of grapefruit, clementine, lemon and lime alongside airy, soapy aldehydes before the green aromatics set in. Davana, fir, cypriol and patchouli emerge creating an intensely green, earthy, forest-esque aura. The citrus, most prominently the clementine, powers through alongside the green notes as a soft touch of bitter coffee joins a woody and masculine cedar accord. With some florals, resins and balsams in the background you’re left with something very classically masculine and mature, with a contemporary and wearable twist. Personally I feel this scent is too green for me, this is not the style of perfumery I enjoy wearing for myself - however I cannot deny the quality and mastery of this scent. If you love classical smelling men’s fragrances then this is definitely one to try.

This is literally just a more expensive version of a midsummer dream...they’re 90% the same

This is more of an aromatic fougere that starts with a blast of citrus that’s more tart than sweet. It then settles with geranium, ginger, and cedar/sandalwood but it starts to fall flat the further it dries as the cardamom, tonka/vanilla is all you’re really left with after 2 hours. It does become rather powdery but eventually the cardamom reigns king. It’s definitely a nice, fresh scent but it’s latter stages are disappointing. Shares similarities to Madison. 7/10 with average performance, versatile, masculine.

PDV 25 is extremely similar to Midsummer Dream. Unfortunately, its not a step up in quality to my nose, its only step up in price. MSD has a more well-rounded scent profile and can be described as fluffy. I would consider PDV 25 to be sharper and spicier/ more balsamic. Both are fantastic but in all honesty, I actually prefer MSD. Especially when you factor in the price.

Immediately reminds me of a Midsummer Dream! They are very similar in the initial opening and then in 5 minutes PDV 25 starts getting really creamy sandalwood and Ginger. It's actually really nice! Might be my next bottle

Beautiful fresh opening Then immediately the coffee and chocolate notes start to appear Very pleasant and smooth <3 I have to say that this is almost a twin to Roja's Oligarch
