Taif Aoud

Unisex Characteristic for Taif Rose are intense but soft, powdery and even honeyed notes yet honey is not noticeable in this perfume. Taif Aoud opens up with sparkling Aldehydes together with that captivating, sensual and mesmerizing Rose and that makes it feel like the fresh mountain air, the fresh wind from the mountains which fills your senses. That fresh and earthy vibe is toned up with Patchouli and Frankincense which is really intoxicating here together with non animalic pleasant, round and elegant oud. Taif Aoud is very versatile since it’s not offending people. The blend is not so strong, it’s not the Oud which screams and shout it’s existence but in the same time it’s noticeable. The longevity and projection is not like a typical oud perfume which makes this great for the spring and a summertime like as well for the people who are not so big fan of the bold and brash oud scents. This parfume is all about roses and oud so on the other hand it’s leaning on feminine side but on the other hand there is certain masculine vibe. Even if Labdanum doesn’t come out in leathery way it certainly brings depth to this. For those who are not familiar with Roja Parfums’ compositions I want to mention the following of the notes here: -Bergamot in the opening is barely noticeable. -From the middle notes the main note is Rose and it is what you get. Even another main note in the middle, Cassis, is really tame. -You don’t find here strong Patchouli neither Labdanum as a clear leather note. Vanilla and Musk as well are well blended and not noticeable in a traditional way. Taif Aoud is magnificent and addictive scent. 🌹💎 I love it! Taif Aoud is one of the best interpretations of Taif Rose I’ve come across so far. It opens with a surprisingly refreshing and vibrant duo of airy aldehydes and tangy bergamot, alongside gents whispers of clean jasmine and soft ylang. From here the stars of the show, that incredible Taif Rose backed up by geranium, begin to take over and draw you in deeper. After a couple of minutes, a green spiciness begins to awaken in the background. The warming spicy aroma of clove alongside a bitter, earthy touch of cassis and patchouli is delightfully enveloping and pairs beautifully with the airy rose. There is a touch of woody incense in the dry down but I don’t actually detect any hint of the original Aoud scent profile. This is actually one of my favourite rose fragrances, it’s not so oud heavy as the name might suggest and it doesn’t seem to tie in to the rest of the Aoud line in uniform but nevertheless it smells fantastic. It’s like standing in a hot, dry desert with the sun beaming down on you, whilst gentle wafts of majestic Taif Rose bellow through the dusty desert air. Magnificent.

As a lover of rose in general. I am particularly fascinated with the Taif flower from the harvesting to the methodology of its extraction process to perfumery. This fragrance exudes a regal aura. Its sparkling, effervescent with that mountain air like breeze accord coming from the aldehydes. Wafting aromas of the fragrant yet photorealistic Taif and "Gilded Oud" (as Roja calls it) blended together has a certain mysticism and intrigue about it. I get little hints of something candied little. Also as mentioned below a more fresher, brighter construction of rose/oud definitely not like the typical rose ouds out there. Although smelling it up close fainty reminds me of Oud Ispahan in the opening those sentiments start to fade after a short while. In the air its, its own thing. Outside of it being rose dominant I don't find it to be all that feminine. This kind of fragrance I find enjoyable year round especially in regions with four seasons like I'm accustomed to.

First impression. Roses boosted by aldehydes, geranium and clove which will immediately grab your attention. The rose is pretty natural and here it encompasses the stems and leaves. Cassis adds to the experience. The rose is flanked by ylang and jasmine that is slightly indolic, but it somehow makes it smell even more lux and serious. No oud to my nose, but there is incense, patchouli and cistus that stands in. I don't really like this house but I appreciate quality perfume, and this one is opulent. And for those that value performance, it's mother effin strong on my skin. I little goes a long way. The price is heart attack inducing, but I love the luxurious formal headspace here. Would be great at a business meeting or black tie event. It not sure it's super sensual but to me, it smells like you're successful and responsible, as strange as that sounds.

This is a lovely scent that I do believe as the commenter below has said, that this is Fortnum and Mason without their name attached. For those who do not like aldehydes steer clear of this one. But this has a very long list of notes, most of which are discernable to me. It is a rose oud for certain, but it is by far one of the best of this genre. I enjoy the way cloves is an important part of the fragrance and so too the geranium and jasmine.Many have compared this one to Roja's UAE, but I have not tried it, so I can't comment on whether this is accurate or not. In any case, this is sophisticated, unisex, long lasting with good silage. I see it as an evening scent and not something that would fit well in the office. It is overpriced, but that is what Roja can ask for and get.

Best life. 100ml of this! update: sooo great, now have 2x 100ml. This is one of the most fantasically seamless Taif perfumes that I have had not to mention tried. Sweet, succulent rose dry-down that is fresh not stale. Soap chips. Cool, breezy musk bristled by some champagne - like fruity zest. Nudged by a chill, not metallic and cold. Comforting warmth of a little incense and woods, not a smoldering forest afterburn.

My favourite of the Aoud line from this house; rose is prominent, but not overwhelming, and is balanced and blended beautifully with other supporting notes in the fragrance. The best analogy for my nose is a rosy, beery mix that leans to the masculine and is rich and alluring. Very nice indeed.

Taif rose in perfection, so if you’re looking for a beautiful taif rose scent you don’t have to look further.

I sprayed 2 sprays in my elbow to test it out. It’s pretty nice. In the opening, I get a burst of candied rose and aldehydes which sparkle together with a touch of incense and oud. It’s definitely not a rough rose and it just smells very pink. After the 1 to 2 hour mark, the rose becomes balanced with the incense, oud and vanilla. Didn’t get much citruses. Projection was pretty good. Only started dying down after 7-8 hours and it’s still lightly projecting then. It’s definitely remaining a rose, oud, incense and vanilla scent on my skin. Smells like anyone can wear it as it’s pretty light even with the heavy notes. edit: it’s been 12 hours and it’s lighter but it’s still slightly noticeable without bringing my arm up to my nose. So it’s a solid performing, pink candied rose, incense, oud and aldehydes scent. Pretty good stuff.

Overpriced and a bit overstuffed (as usual) Roja chypre with an infusion of Taif rose. The scent opens with aldehydes and bergamot leading to the Taif rose heart. The rose heart is surrounded by other florals and slight spice. The drydown is the typical ‘Aoud’ formula comprised of amber and oud like accords accentuated with vanilla and incense. The perfume is not particularly novel (fairly similar to his UAE and Ormonde Jayne Rose Gold), leans slight feminine and has moderate to strong sillage and very good longevity. Rose lovers may want to give this a try for the rich jammy Taif note. Enjoy!

Sampled Taif Aoud from the Roja Aoud Discovery set. This is one of those intoxicating fragrances that make me all giddy when I smell it, it's a fragrance of a refined person who likes his or her luxuries and isn't afraid to show it. TA is exquisitely balanced but I love the frankincense here, it's in the background elevating the whole composition instead of being in the front. The rose here is beautiful. I can def see Taif Aoud as unisex but this leans femme way too much for my liking. The fragrance itself is spectacular, though.

I'm wearing this as I type. It's a beautiful fragrance and the closest thing I think I've ever put my nose on that smells like real roses in a summer garden, every waft of it I get is so natural and it's not like I'm wearing the scent, it's as if it's been caught by the breeze. That being said, this is very much 90% feminine. I don't think I'd ever wear this while out and about as it's just too effeminate for my liking.

Got a sample of this at the store. A more fresh take on rose-oud. well-balanced and inoffensive: neither the rose nor the oud are too overwhelming. the florals give it an airiness or breeziness. i find it feminine bordering on unisex. It's pretty nice -- i just don't find anything unique enough to justify the price.

Musky, very powdery, ghostly florals - the star being a vainglorious Taif Rose - amidst translucent patchouli & woods...a delectable blend of unlisted cedar & sandalwood. A truly Eastern yet lighter aoud, soft & airy. Leans a twinge masculine yet still paradoxically feminine. An elegant, luxurious blend.

A very bright opening, quickly transitioning to a bitter fresh Taif rose, with a woody (not oudy) background. The oud used here is very sharp and clean, with some spicy nuances. Nice, pleasant, with an elegant sillage, very unisex.

The rose is there, really beautiful. Smells bright and citrusy. Leaning very feminine.

This is just fortnum and masons rebranded, right?

I can't believe people think this is a female leaning fragrance....the final dry down smells like burned wood. There is nothing feminine about it to me. I also would not want to smell it on a man either. The opening is bright, and for a few minutes I can see the unisex, but it quickly becomes more masculine to me. And then as mentioned that final dry down is not it. They could have done without that incense note. If you love Oud you might dig this, but def do not blind buy it because it is not a linear smell. It will go through a few phases, and that final phase is a no bueno for me. The bottle on the other hand is beautiful! That glassy/rhinestone cap makes me want it just to look at it. I will not be buying it though. The bottle makes me think of something spring and happy and the smell just does not match up. Disappointed indeed.

The opening is nice. Fresh rose with some oud, very bright. But soon I start smelling a note that reminds me of a sole of a shoe, or a rubber, or a cleaner used to clean household items (it is really hard to describe). That I neither like nor want to smell like.

It wasn’t what I expected to be honest. I was curious about this one, specifically the taif rose note in it. But when I smelled it for the first time I was a little.. taken aback almost. There’s a certain ‘skankiness’ to it, which I suspect may be from the aldehydes or maybe an animalic note. It’s definitely an elegant scent but for me, it does give me this vintage, mature, classic, ‘grandma’ vibe. I HATE when people say stuff like ‘grandma scent’, but I’m really sorry to admit that this was one of my first thoughts. And I do love ‘powdery’ scents et cetera that I see people also call ‘grandma’ sometimes, so I really think it’s that skankiness that keeps me from enjoying the scent? Then it clicked: this smells just like Chanel Nr. 5 to me. I compared them because I couldn’t believe myself. And did it with both the EDP and parfum version of Chanel nr. 5, and they do share a lot of the same notes. I think I didn’t really see anyone with the same experience, so now I’m wondering if it’s just me, that I maybe got a wrong sample or they maybe made a mistake and put another scent. But I shouldn’t assume that and I can only give my review based on the experience that I had. Admittedly, I’ve only sprayed it a couple of times, so maybe I should give it a few more chances and properly test/review it. And I do have to say with one spray, the scent did last well. I could smell it still later at least where I sprayed it. However, it’s also heavily priced, so I at least would certainly expect that the longevity is going to be very good. But yeah, I think this is not really it for me. And I do like/love a lot of different perfumes and styles! But from all the samples that I ordered, this is one that stood out as in kind of a letdown. Maybe also because it’s one of the most expensive ones and I was immediately like “this is Chanel nr 5”. It’s not a bad scent at all, but with the aforementioned points and just... this scent profile I wouldn’t wear, I think. And If I would ever want to go for this scent profile, I’d go w/ Chanel nr. 5, since it’s basically that to me but insanely priced

That rare Taif Rose, it's pretty much perfect. Change the Oud Rose game with this. Overall Up class humble scent, aldehydic in the opening, if you can imagine a fresh Oud Rose parfum? To the point that it's definitely wearable on summer nights as well. An instant crush upon sampling, went to the top of the wishlist quick. This will have Oud Rose lovers adore it, and will make ones that don't like Oud Rose scents start to like'em. Was expecting it to lean more feminine, but to me it doesn't, the powdery and sweets in this are unostentatious. Of course Roja notes will be an amazing roller coaster, the strong base notes and slight smokey feel are again extremely well blent. Discovering the Taif Rose note is a treat, it partly brings home? But I never smelled it before.

Im surprised that this is not talked about more One of the more fantastic modern releases by Roja In the same vein as UAE, but maybe I like this one better. I also like this more than the F&M TA version which focuses a lot more on the aldehydes This one comes in a 100ml format and can be found for quite cheap at the moment, the value proposition against UAE to buy this one instead is extremely high Buy your bottles before reformulation as Roja London is currently being poorly led astray by the new team the performance and scent profile is very good on my 23/24 batch

Very much a "desert rose" kind of vibe, it's oud supporting a rose note rather than rose supporting an oud note. Smells extremely elegant and is perfectly unisex. I'm basing this off of the "supreme hair mist" which projects like a nuclear weapon and lasts as long or longer than some of my favorite EDP/Parfum concentration frags. Crazy that they market it as a hair mist - it's much cheaper than the fragrance proper so if you don't care about the fancy bottle it's definitely worth grabbing.

Nah it’s really not the one, I’ve tried all the Aoud collections and they all have these really nasty skank to them, musk aoud is the only one that kind of gets away with it due to its similarity to vintage Kouros but this one... shelf filler and created for hoarders and collectors. Couldn’t possibly be a signature scent for any man, although saying that I’m sure there is one man or woman out in this world who would like this, subjective at the end of the day.

Oud Fleur by Tom ford mixed with petroleum note. It is nice. But I bought me a falcon of 250ml of Oud Fleur and saved me couple of 100 dollars. And bought a 7.5 ml of this. These are quintessential middle eastern perfumes so you might find something similar some place else too. And to be honest I like cleaner smelling oud fleur over this just a tad bit more! Edit: Found a bottle of it for less than half the price to purchased one for collection.

That is a very nice oud/rose/aldehyde/clove combination. I am surprised the oud is not voted higher . Very smooth , very unisex. I don’t find it necessarily feminine as stated earlier . Highly recommended if you love oud that is not offensive and the rose is amazing. Pricey, but available at discounters . Moderate projection and good longevity.

Very similar to UAE by Roja. A bit soft, weak, I'd say. It's a bright jammy rose oud blend high quality stuff with some prominent airy aldehydic clove spice added in. The rose is rich and the oud is of the bakhoor type sticks to skin quite well, balancing out the entire fragrance. Wonderful scent, wish it was a tad bit louder.

Few years in, matured more airy almost aquatic on and off rifts around the specific rose. Masculine, it's a humble, understand it's one of the soft Aouds, very pairable, specially with other heavy roses. For sure synergizes with the Clive Magnolia or La Closerie des Parfums roses type.

Funny how we all perceive things differently, below saying leaving very feminine. I really think this is quite masculine, a bit classic dad-ish even. Beautiful rose oud fragrance, it’s just enough of everything, beautifully blended. Wears a bit suede like.

It’s beautiful and leaning feminine to my nose, despite a very pronounced smoky note which adds the edge and whiskey-cask-like bitterness to the sweet rose and oud. It’s a very, very sexy fragrance. A dressy date night kinda story.
