In all honesty, I doubt that this perfume is targeted at women but still thought to try it on myself because why not? Despite it not suiting my tastes, i bet my father would love this! Its VERY strong!!! When first applied i felt my sinuses clear and it felt as though it went straight to my brain. Smells like a classic smoky cologne with more depth - but at a lesser cost than you’d expect

I think Rook needs to rethink how they advertise their smells. This isn’t a matcha scent, it smells like the fake smoke they use in cooking. Little bit of mint in there as well. Had to scrub this off shortly after applying, so not sure if the dry-down changes it, but it’s not worth the initial smell for me.

I have had Rook Fragrances on my radar for a number of years but for some reason I have resisted from sampling them and I do not know why, possibly due to mixed reviews on here? Finally last week I purchased the full sample set. Origami was the most interesting of the lot. I think Nadeem is a talented perfumer and he has a lot of interesting concepts to his fragrance art pieces, but I just found the majority too jarring for me to use on a regular basis. None of them grabbed my attention like I was hoping they would. Some of them were just bizarre. I do like niche fragrances but I do not think this house is for me, I wish I had the love for it like some of the other reviewers do as I am all for independent brands.
