RSX/06: Tea Chest

Darkly aromatic Tea Chest. This one only features tea as a supporting player, but the wood notes are warm and fragrant. The dominant smokey note derives from incense, and gives the impression someone has tried to set fire to aforementioned chest, but it is fortunately only scorched. My obsession with Rook continues apace.

I love this! People trying it have to understand- it is a tea CHEST, not just a "tea" scent. Like opening a leather and wood chest that has or had some tea in it. For me it starts off a very flat tea smell but then the leather POPS. Love it love it.

Testing this today for the first time. My first thought is that this woody, smoky scent would be better suited to fall and winter. I couldn't smell the bergamot note. Will add more thoughts later. Update 08/31/25: Wore this layered with Kuumba Made vanilla perfume oil. The weather was cooler today. I still couldn't smell the bergamot but I liked how the woody smoky smell mixed with my vanilla perfume. I guess it's because I am new to perfume but I'm not sure I can tell the difference between Tea Chest and Misk. I'm going to spray one on each wrist sometime so I can make a more direct comparison.

I don’t get any tea! Bought a sample of this thinking it sounded like an interesting tea scent (I love interesting tea scents which aren’t just citrusy), but it’s purely woody. And extremely earthy wood at that, with a sort of fake smoke (like what they use to make food taste smoky cheaply) scent. Not sure who this is for, but I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re looking for that sort of thing, it isn’t tea-like at all to me.

This actually reminded me of the smell of Saunf, the fennel seeds eaten after an Indian meal, its pleasant but not full bottle worthy imo

It is pleasant. I suppose it does smell like a tea chest. To me, it smells like my grandparents’ old wooden house.
