Oud Vibration

This is Diptyque Oud Palao with the rose notes on steroids. Very beautiful, very creamy. The projection is good and the longevity is monster!

Fizzy and piquant raspberry, intensely woody musky oud, and slightly dirty labdanum are contrasted against a heady candied rose-geranium. It could easily become overbearing but everything is configured with such restraint that it feels more like an orchestral piece than a rock concert. Not particularly unique as I feel I have smelled aspects of this scent elsewhere, but not all in one perfume. It borrows some ideas but combines them skillfully. Oud Vibration is very nicely balanced and harmonious. Thick and fuzzy but still elegant. I think it is aptly named.

Smells like Oud Ispahan (Rose, labdanum, oud, spice) with the same raspberry note as Tuscan leather (subtle on the dry down). I found a bottle for 90€ so I bought it, I have never had Oud Ispahan so it was a very good opportunity. I tried Oud Touch Franck Olivier in the past which is also a clone of Oud Ispahan but after a few uses I ended up giving it up, it wasn't so good, I find this one with the additional note of raspberry really better.

When I smelled the card that I had sprayed this on my eyes teared up. This is not a perfume but a chemical hazard. I wouldn't dream of spraying this on my person or anybody else. People dismiss Montales as being loud and synthetic but they are lambs compared to this wolf.
