I got a bottle some days ago directly from Regia in Barcelona: My girlfriend loved it and said that it was very unique, that was the main trigger for me getting a bottle. First of all, this is a complex fragrance with multiple layers. I have worn it in the summer and it changes a lot, from a fruity rubbery oriental, to a warm vanilla leather. Rosendo Mateu is a weird house for me, I can feel the uniqueness and quality, but have not been able to wear fully any of their fragrances. All of them have a weird feeling of being too feminine for a man and too masculine for a woman, like layering a male and a female fragrance. In this case I can say that this is a masculine fragrance, and I’m liking it. I can feel a common DNA, it may be the choice of musks and base notes, but it reminds me of both no5 and no6. Both of them are more flowery. No5 is more ambery and less fruity, and closer in the opening. No6 is a lot more flowery and is closer to the dry down. I have mentioned before about no6, and I’ll do it here too: this reminds me of Armani Code Profumo (I had a bottle some years ago), this one even more, but with more quality, more interesting. Longevity and projection are OK, not too invasive, 8h. Recommended to check when available, a good, interesting oriental with a hinge of that 1million dna that was common some years ago, but with better quality and a twist

Ok so I decided to test this better in cold weather, and also compare it to no5 and no6: No 6 is way too floral and feminine, not sure what happened to my nose back then lol, maybe covid was still hurting my sense of smell. Now, no5 actually feels similar, it has a similar base at least. The biggest difference I perceive is the amber and florals present in no5. Replace that with a leathery accord and you’ll be close to 2010. No5 was kind of an androgenous fragrance as I mentioned. 2010 is masculine. I think it is actually a goal of this fragrance, but is worth mentioning again: this dna may remind you of the sweet orientals that were popular in the late 2000s and early 2010s, sweet notes over a masculine leathery/woody/spicy base. Something like 1million, Armani code Profumo, etc. You can feel the quality and is actually a really nice smell. Longevity is ok (7h), projection too, is not too loud. I feel this may suit great wearing a coat in an Autumn evening. I like it, but don’t love it.

I disagree with the reviewer below who likens this to Godolphin, I detest Godolphin, but this is quite nice. They are both leathery, but just worlds apart. This is firmly unisex to me, and is a great example of saffron done well. I don't find this fragrance metallic, although saffron does sometimes go that way on my skin. I actually find this to be more of a papery powdery scent. And musky. It's honestly even a bit feminine on me. This is great, give it a try.

Luna Rosa Prada. Parfum De Marly Godolphin.

A little leather, spice and wood. Very metallic. Not for me. Think of this as Marc Antione Barrois but wearable. There is some blue cucumber freshie in there as well. I recognize the quality but... at the end of the day I have never understood nor liked metallic fragrances, leather is a take it or leave it proposition leaning towards leave it and the best I can say about blue fragrances, with the exception of Zilli’s, is meh. Now you might be asking yourself why on earth did he sample this considering he doesn’t like the main elements. It is a good question. If you come up with the answer please let me know. I am just as curious. Much, much later in the day soft powdery almond 🤷🏼

Heavy spices (saffron and nutmeg) mixed with amberwood and a touch of vanilla. Musky base with extremely radiant synthetic molecules. It’s within current trend for molecular woody scent with an overdose of saffron (BR540 and others). Nothing bag, nothing good.

Is this very similar to number 5??

2010 is a sweet inky, metallic scent. It leans masculine and feels very elegant. I get some resins, sweet woody notes and a fine leather note. It doesn't mention leather in the notes pyramid but I perceive it clearly. Imagine a rich, attractive man wearing a black leather jacket and driving his obnoxiously small new Porsche. I think he probably will smell like this scent.

Rosendo left all his recipes to his son and daughter-in-law and they used them when creating this collection. There will be more fragrances as his legacy which is actually wonderful because Rosendo was truly a great perfumer.

Candied saffron with significant metallic facets, accented by soft spices and woods. As a saffron lover, I love this. Scent is fairly linear with good projection in the first 2 hours before becoming a skin scent.

Similar to no5 but take off the leather if No.5 leans unisex masculine this leans a lil unisex but a lil creamer powdery and sweeter in the dry down. I love both no5 but this is my pick between the two.

Boozy, phenolic and slightly plasticky. Almond paste, cherry liqueur, sweet floral notes, fruity tea and tonka. A semi-gourmand of sorts but one that can’t decide which direction to dedicate itself to.

Just out of curiosity...how come RM is the nose behind this perfume released in 2023 if he has left us a few years back??

this is Ganymede (fresh akigalawood part) mixed with Rosendo 5 (nuclear vanilla).
