Rosendo Mateu No 8 Fruity, Amber, Exotic Musk

Personal: 9/10 - I love the fruity sweetness of this one. Good complexity on the base too. Mass appeal: 8.5/10 - Most will really enjoy it. Not everyone will enjoy the intense fruits, though. Performance: 7/10 - Lasts and projects pretty well, though it's not amazing. Value: 6/10 - Niche prices, but this one is actually kind of worth it (it's beautiful, so). Uniqueness: 8/10 - The blend of fruits with gentle woods and vanilla is not unheard of, but this one does it SO well. SCORE: 77/100 Full bottle buy? YES, I love the fruity ambers with the gentle base. Blind buy? YES, if you like (not synthetic) sweet fruits, this one is quite safe. Recommend? YES, one of the better sweet, fruity niche fragrances on the market. Date night? YES, absolutely, for fun dates. Not steakhouse approved. Office safe? YES, it's perfectly professional but don't overspray it. Pros: Natural fruits, sweetness, and summery-fall vibes in a bottle. Cons: Expensive. Performance is okay. Some may call it boring, even. It smells like the most luxurious air freshener I've ever smelled. I love how it opens with bright, realistic fruits that get rounded out by a slightly warm spicy, woody, vanilla filled base. It doesn't smell like a niche fragrance, or designer, it just smells beautiful. It's definitely in masterpiece territory, and even as a guy, I would totally rock it. It's not particularly masculine, but that's okay. Though the frutiness can get cloying if it sticks around for too long. This one lends itself best to 2 or 3 sprays. This is a gem, yet, one of the reviewers below characterizes Nr. 8 as 'one of the most synthetic fruity-ambery vanilla I have ever smelled; and cheap'. This is not the case for me; I even consider those adjectives unfairly given. I have not experienced this beauty as synthetic at all. It rather starts with a beautiful blast of fruity citruses that lingers for a while. Then, it calms down to a beautiful, calming, fruity, silky, creamy aroma. I think this is mainly due to the balance between pineapple, cinnamon, and Iris. Don't get me wrong. This is not the only thing you detect at the dry down, but this combo plays a big part in this beauty's life. I have a thing with synthetics, which my nose often is able to detect, specially at the drydown. Here, my nose could't stop sniffing, and all the time it went, Ahhhh, mmmmm. I am so satisfied that I add this beauty to my collection.

Rosendo Mateu No. 8 es una fragancia luminosa, jugosa y muy envolvente. I bought a bottle from the first test. I applied it to a blotter and, in a few minutes, asked for a spray on my skin. It starts with exotic fruits, pineapple, and green apples on a musky background. Then, it seems that the sweetest syrup is added. It develops into a powdery cloud due to the iris in its composition. My nose catches a slight accent of rose in its heart. Then, the fragrance becomes very vanilla, dry, and even a bit bitter. I love it! from the first inhale! The more you spray, the muskier it becomes. The days i do not wear it, I miss it very much!

Beautiful unisex fruity fragrance. It has a unique fruitiness that I don't think I've smelt before. Its very apple heavy. The pineapple isn't remotely as strong as the apple note in this one to my nose, as the votes suggest. This smells like walking through a garden full of apple trees in the summer in the best way possible. The perfumer really nailed the realistic and natural fruity scent here. Perfect for the summer and spring but works well all year round. 10/10

I'm a man. I dig this scent. Perfectly unisex. Has a similar effervescence (fizzy/sparkle) that Kajal Homme and Homme II has. Those Kajals are masterpieces to me.

Very juicy sweet pineapple, slightly spicy from the cinnamon, and a hint of powder. I can't smell the apple on my skin. This lasts an eternity on skin. love it!

I am in the world of niche perfumery since 2009. This one is on my top 5 best smells of all time.

Wearing a sample of this today and I think I like it! Definitely fruity but not in a cheap or synthetic way. It does have the nice warm-amber base that feels like it could work well in fall, too. (currently hot hot summer day and also is nice) The reviews for this were all over the place and I was thinking I wouldn’t like it at all but I definitely do! Was lovely on a test paper and on skin, warms up nicely w the amber base. Not my typical scent but would consider a full bottle because of its b fruity- but not cheap smelling- category it falls in for me. I do also appreciate that it’s not hyper-feminine or overly sweet. it is unisex and has a sweetness but not sickly or even close to it.

I was sent this on accident, but it’s really fun! It starts off smelling just like Pop Rocks, then develops into a sort of 90s Barbie doll scent. It’s sweet, fruity, a little bit of plastic but in a pleasant way? It’s kind of nostalgic if you’re a millennial, something about it just reminds me of being a kid in the 90s.

This opens with an explosive juicy pineapple - so delicious. A superior example within the fruity scent category. Smells like sunshine in a bottle. I love this for a warm weather staple.

Its a nice complex scent which somewhat reminds me of Haribo Starmix, also my girlfriend LOOVES this scent so mabye look into getting it as a gift for your significant.

The tip notes of this is something I haven't smelt in a while! When I was very, very poor, we couldn't afford to buy any perfume, but I found a bottle of dirt-cheap body spray called "Apple Pie Orchard" or something for $7 that was tolerable enough. Unfortunately, that's what this reminds me of: an apple-and-cinnamon tea. It's not necessarily bad, but it isn't sophisticated and fits into the same category as Khamrah from Lattafa. Howeeeeever, at some point, this becomes really weird on me: it starts smelling vegetable seasoning. The kind with dried carrot, paisley root, maybe even a little bit of garlic. I really don't know what notes may create this smell. I... don't hate it, but it smells like I've been making cinnamon-apple tea and cooking soup at the same time - a familiar smell that I can't manage to hate on because it smells so natural. It gets me into a funny mood :P

It’s a Nice scent but It smelled too much like spiced apple/sauce home scent or candle . I didn’t find myself wearing it or reaching for it . I let it sit for months and still it was just a warm spice home scent lol. I ended up getting rid of it.

I don't really like pineapple in fragrance but I can admit that this is a well blended fragrance. Layering it with a musk dominant or fresh fragrance makes the experience way much better.

Hmm is this similar to Lamar - the notes seem very close, with the exception of cinnamon in Lamar.

Pineapple and apple together ruin this fragrance and take it into a toilet freshener territory. They should have sticked to the pineapple only. Apple is a surprisingly challenging note in perfumery and I cannot recall anything that would be even slightly elegant with apple in it. I don't know why good perfume houses fall into this trap - the same effect has, for example, Shamal by Nobile 1942.

This one was actually unexpectedly offensive to me. The notes clash like a layering combo gone wrong, and this came off very harsh and screechy to my nose. There is something kind of medicinal about this too. I have yet to find another Rosendo that I like enough to join their sister no. 5.

This fragrance starts with a very juicy and sugary pinneapple for about a minute. After that, this turns into one of the most synthetic fruity-ambery vanilla I have ever smelled. Since that first minute, it keeps linear and creamy ressembling of a cheap sunscreen. You can also perceive a hint of cinnamon and powdery iris and rose.

Smells good. Unisex scent but leans very masculine to my nose which is why I’m not buying a bottle but it’s still a nice release for the upcoming warmer weather especially. I get the green apple quite a bit in the opening and as it dries down the fruits fade and the cinnamon is very present on my skin. That part I didn’t like as much (not a big fan of cinnamon in fragrances) and then I get a good amount of vetiver as well which to me always reads more masculine. The dry drown is woody vetiver with hints of the fruits and florals (rose) peaking through. I don’t perceive any vanilla but I’m sure it’s there to add to the sweetness of the fragrance but it’s not a sweet fragrance, it’s very woody to me. Overall it’s a nice fragrance with good performance that I think would smell better on a man.

If you’re looking for a creamy, sweet, fruity Fragrance, this is not it. That does not mean that this is not a beautiful Fragrance. This is a tart fruity Fragrance with musky undertones that only Rosendo can do. Think of this, as number five but fruity. I got a sample of this and played with it for about 2 to 3 weeks and decided to not get a full bottle until I thought of layering. It would number five and the concoction it made was simply too beautiful to not on a full bottle. I ended up getting it for a discounted price on Venba so for that price I believe it was worth it.

The scent is pleasant, but it does smell like a home scent. Apple dominant. I do get some of the pineapple too, but when there is apple in a fragrance, it’s the most prominent thing I can smell. Not for me, but pleasant. Edit: Ok, wore this a second time and the pineapple is more present in the opening, like sweet pineapple juice. Dries down more candied, gummy bear like, and it still smells like a home scent.

The opening is quite unique. It is very sharp, bright, and sweet and unlike anything else in the market. The dry down is warm, spicy, fruity and sweet. The cinnamon is in the background through the entire scent journey. The projection and longevity are average. I wish the opening burst of tartness would last longer, but I enjoy wearing this nonetheless.

Beautiful and I mean absolutely beautiful smell but leans very feminine. I can definitely see a guy wearing this but it just feels like it would suit a woman more? Just my opinion though. The dry down is a beautiful sweet but fresh fruit feeling to it. A great gift for your mother or any women in your family.

The fruit is for the briefest moment then this scent on me, becomes a cinnamon bomb. Smells like the home fragrance you plug into the wall from BBW . Makes me think of Christmas time, it's currently July. It's not a good scent for me.

Kinda smells like it wants to be Lamar/Kajal for 2.5 seconds then switches to a blend of a fruity spicy candle and that green apple air freshener for some bathrooms. I ALMOST liked it and then downhill it went 🤷🏾♀️

Fruity, syrupy yet powdery opening that quickly turns to a harsh chemical scent with a candy drop background. Some grape winegum as well as woodier facets are present as it calms down a bit. Not a hit on my skin.

Very cute, light, and fruity. The Pineapple and Green Apple standout on this one. Kinda reminds me of Mon Paris from YSL but not sour. This would be nice when the weather warms up even more!
