Hothouse Peonie

Yet another beloved stripper fragrance has graced my life. It's so sultry and elicits imagery of the beginning of a dark sexy night. Also the resins and the woods make it lean kind of witchy as well? Like I've smelled that smell in a home where they burn resins and stuff. So like, dark sexy stripper witch? I think this is gonna be my signature scent for the later part of spring/beginning of summer. Though it would make a very good everyday scent. I've had to reapply throughout the day though. The aquatic florals, the peony, and the resins and woods blend very well. This is the first time I've encountered a perfume that could be described as balsamic and I love it.

This is my most prized perfume. I first found it in 2015 at Anthropologie and then it was discontinued. I'd checked back every couple of years to see if it miraculously reappeared, and I found it this year! It was relaunched by the same perfumery and it was my dream come true. This is an aquatic floral, beautifully blended. It really smells like you're in a glass greenhouse full of peonies with fountains all around, but there's a nice breeze flowing through. It is, to this day, the most gorgeous scent I've ever come across, and I'm surprised (though maybe glad) it's not more fussed about. I hope it sticks around a long time!

The scent is peony divine, the bottle is TDF. I acquired recently and didnt realise that it was peonies I was missing in my life. I am used to seeing them play second fiddle to the rose but they are a star in their own right as this perfume demonstrates. Although aquatic in transparency and brightness it still has rich floral elements that are realistic but beautifully blended.

Smelled this on a friend in 2015 and instantly fell in love. I'm sad Anthropologie doesn't carry it anymore, but it is available on Royal Apothic's website if you can grab it before it's sold out! It's what I imagine a purely peony-scented shampoo would smell like. Very heady floral, absolutely beautiful, and would make for an ideal scent for a bride.

This fragrance was an absolute dream and I first purchased it at anthropology and I’ve been thinking about it for years. The company had a brief restock but right now you can only get the fragrance oil. I’ve reached out to them to see when they will restock, but they don’t have a date listed.
