Hyperion

Not a classic crowdpleaser, but a decidedly complex fruity, spicy and smoky fragrance with enormous depth. Ambergris plays a central, somewhat ambivalent role here, and you have to like its salty, animalic aspects. Fragrance art for lovers of perfumery! Thumbs up, as with all Rubini creations.

It's okay, I was expecting more. This smells like a more spicy (timur and pepper here) version of senyoko kujira densetsu, definietly redundant if you have either. Edit: Okay It’s pretty good, spicy sweet and salty, with a citrusy olibanum in the background. The timur gives it almost like a ground spicy pepper feel. Considering a full bottle

To my nose this is the ocean, not space. Or perhaps space pirates! Reminds me of The Grudge by Beaufort. Has a few green notes that start to assert themselves as the slimy low tide smell backs off. It's a daring attempt for sure. Could be the smell of heavily used, sparingly washed EVA suits. Or the smell of a ship full of refugees from an aquatic planet. Obviously and as already mentioned, this is the very definition of an unsafe blind buy.

Lovely and interesting scent. Yuzu with peppers are very pretty together.

I'll preface this by saying I'm primarily a fan of niche, strange, 'fragrance as art' perfumes. They represent the majority of my collection. Many of my all time favorites are strange, 'out there' fragrances with odd and intentionally polarizing notes, so I'm not only just familiar with this approach to perfumery, I actively seek it out. This is the most repulsive fragrance I've ever tried. But Not Today smells like a more approachable version of this, which should be horrifying to anyone who's familiar with that other fragrance. Not one tiny fraction of this fragrance smells of space (that honor easily goes to Sruli Recht and Mark Buxton's "MASS"). I know the inspiration for this was more of a "new world", but it legitimately just smells of rotting, musty flowers, and manure. And more rot. Like if you mixed cow dung and an old compost bucket together. Which I guess in a sense does resemble what one might consider a new world to smell like, that's brimming with decaying corpses and animal dung...? But it's a stretch for me, on the best of days. Nuvolari is an absolute masterpiece, so I was absolutely shocked when I smelled this, in the worst way possible. I wouldn't keep a bottle of this if it was offered for free.
