Amorosa

What an interesting fragrance as it changes so dramatically on my skin. Very feminine and alluring in a low key and womanly way. The opening is natural fruity sweet with the tiare and watermelon. This sweetness eases off a bit and then it is a touch more fresh with the galbanum, violet leaf and vetiver becoming more evident. You can sense the amber, patch and ylang somewhere in the background but this is a very well blended scent. I guess at this point the aquatic and ozone decription comes into play and I would agree. It is like a cool breeze after the warmth of the day. I don't know why people seem to have a problem with aquatic. It works so well here to assist in keeping this scent fresh and easy to wear. I think this would be perfect on a summers night. There is something casual about it. Relaxed and on your hols. Good longevity and moderate sillage.

Nothing aquatic about Amorosa, in my opinion. I would classify it as a floral oriental. It is warm and sweet but there is also a freshness about it, the melon in the opening: a beautiful, allround, complex, intriguing scent. I only have a sample now, and I have to find out where to buy it in the Netherlands, but I certainly will! Longlasting and heavy indeed, but that is a compliment (so many eau de perfumes nowadays have such poor lasting power, this is good value for money). Update: I finally have a bottle of Amorosa and I absolutely LOVE it, I understand the classification floral aquatic based on the notes, but the concentration of the perfume is so high (great sillage and very very long lasting) that is seems more like an oriental scent. I love it from the first spray to the dry down base notes. Value for money as well. My favorite right now!!!

This is the Blanche DuBois of perfumery. The first thirty minutes of Amorosa are really impressive. Normally I can't stand melon in scents, but combined with the violet it's refreshing, sweet, and yes, definitely aquatic. The top notes represent Blanche in her youth, when life was good, love was easy to come by and it was appropriate to come on to young men! However, once the middle notes appear, we get more of the older Blanche: loud, expensive smelling but somewhat vulgar, a bit out of control and therefore inappropriate in most public settings. It's not a bad scent, but by the time I got to the base notes, I felt the need to escape the fumes that were emanating from my skin, a bit like you would probably avoid Blanche once she's had a few drinks at a party.

Sweet childhood memories! I don't know what it is, I don't want to know what it is, but this fragrance feels like a soft maternal caress. To me, this is a powdery floral. At a certain point, it becomes quite sharp (some flowers have this tendency on my skin) but still, oh so lovely. It's not as strong and long-lasting as the other two fragrances from this house that I tried, but it's still pretty decent. On a totally different note, this is the way a funeral home should smell like in my opinion. Yes, that's probably the scent of comfort.

Oh why am I always doing such purchases! So I went tot his amazing perfume shop, not some Perfume chain place but decent shop ran by a french lady in south London. I was so thrilled to discover it. I spent ages in there sporting my senses. I first smelled a couple of fragrances and liked one a lot (Autoportrait) but then started to talk to the owner and discuss various fragrances. She matched me according to my favourites perfumes. We went through probably 10 of them. And I loved 3 of them. Apparently what I sprayed on my wrist was Amarose and couldn't stop sniffing it. It developed into watermelon light beautiful intriguing smell, really love at first sight. I bought big bottle 100ml there is no small option. After an hour after leaving the shop, I sprayed sit again on my other wrist and ... I could not recognise the smell! I was shocked that I picked this one, it was so strong and immediately gave me a headache. I almost felt I must run back there because she clearly made mistake of giving me the wrong box! I still hope it was a wrong box. Maybe I smelled another perfume in there and she actually thought it was this one. But anyway I ended up with Amorosa. And I am trying to sell it. It is so overpowering. I am a huge fan of Tam Dao by Diptyque, it is very gentle, woody, sunflower-y, discreet smell. But I also like Tom Ford Black Orchid on special occasions but somehow this smell just doesn't hit the spot, even I gave it many tries (she ave me many small samples with the bottle) nope, just headache.
