Eau Eternelle

This is my first review, please go easy on me. I have a bottle of S Poncet's Pleasant Promenade, and that is such a brilliant and quietly lovely scent that I finally resolved to confront the white flower demon and order a sample (2.5 mL spray) of their other fragrance, Eau Eternelle. I couldn't be more pleased. This is so pretty! I will echo the impression of many reviews below that this is the olfactory equivalent of walking through a garden of flowers in the rain, but not just any garden, we're talking Winnie-the-Pooh, idealized British countryside flower garden. Oh my god!! I see Eeyore! I typically have a spotty relationship with floral fragrances (especially the white ones), but this is uplifting and refreshing. Even though I am a bit of a tomboy, I don't feel uncomfortable wearing it. I agree that the scent is old-fashioned, but so is Winnie-the-Pooh, any my love for that series transcends time so it seems this perfume was aptly named. Old-fashioned but not dated if that makes sense. As for the more practical aspects; longevity is about 6 hours on me (+ 2-3 hrs if I spray it in my hair) which is excellent on my perfume-eating skin. Hmmm, sillage is approximately an arm's length (I'm guessing, I've not worn this around others yet), I get regular whiffs without having to bury my nose in my arm. The packaging is beautiful and the bottle is simple but elegant (based on Pleasant Promenade bottle) These details are important as this is not the cheapest juice to spring for but for me an easy FBW.

I received this sample at an Elements Showcase back in 2011. How have I not reviewed this beautiful scent yet? Our astrology forecast for this week prompted me to seek this one out, due to its lotus, and I am reminded again of how lovely Eau Eternelle really is. Eau Eternelle is a soft green floral with a classic vibe—the gorgeous flowers of Joy and the juicy fruits and mossy aura of Mitsouko come to mind. But don't let the classic notes frighten you. Young women could definitely wear this with ease. Popular and youthful notes like mandarin and lotus give it a freshness that will surely appeal to the modern fragrance lover. The company's suggestion of Monet's Water Lillies is a good one and captures this perfume's timeless and sophisticated appeal. It's a perfect scent with gentle sillage for daytime and office wear, in any season, and it lasts and lasts.

I really love the sample of this that I got in a pack. I'm on the fence about buying a full bottle, but I'm not sure I'll even be able to since I can't find it anywhere online. The opening is very citrusy but it isn't abrasive. It's refreshing and cool throughout but becomes more floral and woody as it dries down. I've been wearing it in the summer, and it's impressive in how long it lasts. I went to bed with it on and could still smell it on my arms in the morning. Projection is short. Early on, it goes to arms length and then after a couple of hours becomes a skin scent that lasts and lasts. It reminds me of Kismet's Waterlilies:: Nympheas, though this one has more citrus while Waterlilies::Nympheas is greener and herbaceous.

I have no clue about notes in this one. It smells like clean rain falling at the beginning of spring in a cool climate, on a big garden of many flowers.

This scent is just....beautiful. I agree with the "modern classic" description, and would even add that it's not only classic, but classy. I tried my sample once at night and once during the day when I was working hard and sweating! :-) It stayed lovely and refreshing no matter what. Any time I needed a break, I could sniff my wrist and be transported to a beautiful garden. This is what I picture when I sniff it, even though it's not an overwhelmingly floral scent. I can't even pick out any of the individual notes (except maybe the jasmine a little), because it is blended so exquisitely that it is its own unique scent! The sillage is moderate; I caught occasional whiffs of it throughout the day. It lasted about 6-8 hours on me each time I tried it. Full-bottle worthy!

This is a step back in time in a beautiful way. It's a delicous bouquet made of all the flowers and fruit notes found in my darling Granny's garden and it is touchingly beautiful for that reason. Anyone could wear this and smell instantly kissable, in my humble opinion! Unapologetically, tenderly and refreshingly simple and romantic. Just a modern beauty in an old fashioned romantic sense. Grandma would be proud and I mean that in the most complimentary way - this smells of home grown love. The carnation is simply divine.

This is really nice. Fruit and soft florals blended beautifully. I can see what the other reviewers mean by being both modern and classic. I can see women in their 20's or 50's wearing this. On me the mandarin orange and lotus are the most noticeable, but I can make out the woody notes and lemon/grapefruit in the background. I probably wouldn't buy this just because of the price. It doesn't wow me enough to spend over $100 on a bottle, but it is lovely.

High-pitched, sharp chemical floral. Like an industrial air-freshener-style rendition of lotus or other screechy flower.

Received this as a sample and really love its crisp, citrusy and fresh top notes, especially as a daytime fragrance. This is one I could wear almost every day, especially for work or a casual date. The scent is both classic and modern, and very clean. Gives a “right out of the bath or shower” vibe that is great for days when you actually just rolled out of bed. The hint of jasmine in the top note makes it subtly feminine, but it doesn’t scream PERFUME. Strongly reminds me of an old fave, Clarins Eau Dynamisante. I agree wholeheartedly with those describing this as sophisticated and ageless. A welcome discovery.
