Cocoyster Moorea Guava

Cocoyster Moorea Guava is a salty, fruity, tropical floral, warm, slightly sweet, complex and super interesting perfume for sure! A sweet/salty, tropical fruity floral with an edge. I have bought at the end of last year two discovery sets from Salum Parfums and I liked or loved everything I have tried from them. They have very unique, different and underrated scents they offer, nothing like mainstream brands do. My favourite new brand that I have discovered in 2025 to put it simply! This particular perfume is a bit on the unusual side than other Salum offerings, a bit more of an acquired taste because it blends notes from the opposite sides of the spectrum together. Containing more popular notes like guava, coconut, ginger, jasmine, ylang ylang but then adding notes like oysters and ambergris, which tend to be more problematic for some people. I like it because it’s beautifully contrasting between sweet and salty, warm and cool, tropical and marine. It’s a well balanced mix of such different accents and accords, but manages to smell pleasant and unique. I would say that it’s the type of scent that most people should try before buying, because it’s far from being a crowd pleasing scent! It’s complex and unique, but I think some people might find it smells fishy because the ambergris and that oyster note gets more pronounced as the perfume evolves from a typical exotic, tropical fruity/floral to a more marine/salty one. The scent seems strong from what I can assess from my small sample and very diffusive in the air. While it is not a cheap perfume, it’s fairly concentrated, so it is relatively good value for money considering all the facts!

Guava is undoubtedly the star of this composition. It’s been interpreted beautifully here! Vibrant, rich and absolutely naturalistic, it brings a juicy character with a subtle tartness and sweetness that sets the overall tone of the fragrance and gives it an exotic freshness. The opening felt a bit sharp, likely due to the combination of ginger and mandarin, but shortly after settling on the skin the composition softens and takes on a lovely, rounded shape. The heart with coconut, ylang-ylang and jasmine adds a creamy, sun-kissed flirtation to the scent, yet it doesn’t overshadow the guava, it remains in the spotlight. A very interesting and well-crafted summer fragrance 🤩
