What the h#@* has happened?? Why do all NEW Dalis smell like watered drinks?? They used to smell Divine and now they smell like vague memories.... This one is no exception. Oh well, i'll leave it in the primary school bathroom, little girls will love the bottle, they all like to spray on perfume and it will be gone in no time! Notes?? What notes??!?

The perfume starts sweet and settles into a rose and sandalwood scent on the skin. It's very feminine and gorgeous. Great date night scent.

My bottle finally arrived today! This review is based on my very first try of this scent. For your information, my bottle is estimated to be a 2005 batch based on its batchcode. The scent opens up with a sharp, tangy red currant and yuzu. The sour opening doesn't last that long though, a good news for someone who doesn't enjoy too much sour citruses like me. A rather clean patchouli shows up along with sandalwood till the end of its lifespan. I didn't get rose, unfortunately. Its main profile is clean, sharp, and a bit powdery. Being an edt, this scent is definitely not a performance monster. But it does have a decent staying power (6 hours plus) and a gentle, alluring presence. It never speaks too loud; it's soft-spoken but always there when you try to find it. This one is pretty different compared to something I'd wear on daily basis (I'm a sucker for sweet florals and currently in my early 20s) and it does smell old for young adults. Despite its oldish and dusty vibe, this one's still interesting for those times when I crave sophisticated mature scent. It's a like and I'm surely keeping it in my collection.

I have to admit to being surprised by Rubylips. I was anticipating loud/sharp citrus, but this is woody, creamy and soft. The red currant is very prominent in the opening, but it's tempered by sandalwood. It's juicy and fruity but not obnoxious. I smell rose, but I wouldn't call this a rose dominant perfume. On my skin, it's mostly sandalwood, honey and bright (but not sharp or acidic) fruits. I usually don't like fruits or citrus, so definitely a surprise. The patchouli is there, but definitely is on the fresher/cleaner side. I think the slightly musky floral scent I'm getting is the waterlily. I think this will make a good "everyday" fragrance for spring/summer. I tend to err toward heavier woody fragrances like Must, Dune, Belle d'Opium etc. Although it's not an occasion fragrance, to me it's special. It's a unique fragrance, well executed and definitely has a place in my wardrobe. It's one where I'm glad I got the 100 ml.
