Salvador by Salvador Dali (2010)

Batch code 17011CM. I just realized that this might be the gem in my collection. It certainly can't compete in quality with GIT or Dior Homme Intense or the drydown of Prada Luna Rossa Black. And sure, it is no doubt syntetic. But really, it smells really nice and at the same time unoffensive. Very maskuline, fresh and still not in your face. Hotel room with very clean white sheets. And then a big bowl of grey pears. Sillage is decent and longevity could certainly be better although quite alright on my skin. But for the price you will not mind the hassle of reapplying once or twice during the day. (Paid about 11 euros for 50 ml) And in terms of versatility this stuff is yet to be beaten in my opinion. Applying for a new job or won the nobel price? Yet another work day or the date night of your life? Summer or winter? CEO, sales or mind killing office job. It will do the job if unsure what to wear. I tend to get rather bored wearing it after a day or two as it is quite linear but has come to realize that the people around me don't percieve it in that way. If there is something as a safe blind buy this sure is it. But don't take my word for it as your milage might vary.

''Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.'' Salvador by Salvador Dali is a warm, fresh spicy, powdery and vanilla base fragrance. It stays very close to the skin, but possesses a very unique and distinct aroma where sophistication is not to be questioned. This fragrance slightly reminds me of Plus Plus Masculine by Diesel, Desire for men by Alfred Dunhill and 1 Million by Paco Rabanne. But that's just a slight similarity in comparison for all 3 fragrances have their own unique character. The silage on Salvador is moderate where as longevity can be a little bit tricky. I found that 2 sprays on each pulse point does the trick and allows the fragrance to last a little longer. For me I get 4-6 hours but I'm definitely lucky to see 7-8 This works well during the Spring, Fall and Winter time and can be use for casual wear.

The pear is leading note in this perfume. I feel it from the beginning to the end with nuances. The other ingredients just support the pear. In general the scent slightly reminds me of bubble gum. 'Salvador' is not very strong in projection so I can say it is office-safe, but depends. IMHO it is good for those whose work is related to children (teachers, nurses, etc).

10 minutes after aplying on skin its smells like a lumbejack's socks after a day of work in a rubber boots, but after 10 minutes along it settles down, and somehow it becomes very pleasant, masculine, sofisticated, semisweet, calm, mature and dark. not for youngsters or metropolitan metrosexuals.

I love it, but nothing special. It reminds me of Black by Cavalli; Code by Armani and some others from this group. The scent is very oriental to me, a little bit sweet and spicy. Everybody who adores "black scents" as me will fall in love with this one.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased this Salvador Dali perfume for a unbelievable price of 28 Euros. Autumn was falling in and this could be the perfect fall frag with pear, cinnamon, incense and sandalwood. Notes that I really like. I collect Dali fragrances and they are getting harder to find these days. I think the brand is getting discontinued because the website is offline and the prices are going up. I received the package and I was surprised by the quality of the packaging and especially the beautiful bottle. The Dali mouthes on the side that give a perfect grip and the heavy metal cap that fits perfectly. So what about the perfume? Its gorgeous and wonderful. Far above my expectations. Perfumer Michel Almairac did a wonderful job on this intriguing frag. It opens with a fruity pear, out of the shower, freshness. Than it becomes spicy with a perfect balance between the cinnamon and pepper. There is a very nice ceder woodiness with a touch of incense that's really inviting and rather masculine. The dry down is a very realistic sandalwood with a lasting vanilla and musk base. This is not a beast performer but for me the performance is very acceptable because more thickness and strength would have ruined this perfume. It's just perfect for me and makes it a very satisfying blind buy.

Upon appliance I get a great scent that smells like I want people to think I smell like. I walk around and check their reactions. I go to the mall and pass everyone on the escalator. giving them a whiff of pear. Or I'll go to the gym track. I'll pass everyone who will smell my musk, and then stop to catch my breath. As they pass me gasping for air they can smell my body mixed with this ceylon cinnamon, pear juice. I pass them again giving them a whiff of vanilla. They pass me and get the incense this time. It is a great way to exercise. Use sillage as your motivation to run faster and to spread the sillage throughout the entire gym facility. Now note the reactions, priceless. Everyone wants to leave with you, come this way, here we go, right out the door here sir.

Because perfumes are fairly new and still here are not good description, I've tried to introduce it a little more comprehensive. Top notes and heart notes seem to be very similar to Replay for Men - citrus + aromatic. After some time they begin to smell different, but Salvador is getting more subtle and sophisticated, but less intense. The base of Salvador appears to be a new note - perhaps incense, but the smell is getting weaker. Notes / scent: 3.5 Longevity / sillage: 3.5 Overall / subjective feelings: 4.0 Description: similar to Replay for him and even more subtle. I bought both of them fairly cheap and for its price, I think, it would be interesting wear.

This smells like a lumber aisle at the hardware store...in particular, white woods like birch and amber. Aroma of a lumber aisle but not sweet/spicy coniferous...more on the sweet side. 6-8 hour longevity. I have worse in my collection but still, considering i hardly ever reach for this it still has it's uses. Nice to freshen a coat that you want to throw on but didn't have time to wash. Light passing wafts are gentle, mature, masculine, inviting..not repulsive. 7/10

As a fan of the cheap but yet pleasant Salvador Dali's fragrances, I'm a little disappointed with this one. It seems to faint merely seconds after the application. A fresh woody fragrance with a fruity heart and a hint of dark/spicy notes, and that's all. For who are interested to know Salvador Dali's fragrances for men, try Black Sun or Laguna as the first choice.

Interesting scent here, ends up as a smooth vanilla and incense blend, but feels soft and dark. I wish you could smell the Nashi Pear from the notes, but unfortunately there is a generic fruity note and nothing particularly specific. Nice on occasion, light and smooth with decent longevity, but avoid on hot days, it develops a smell like overripe fruit

The scent of Is Copying one to one Guess by Marciano that was created one year before this one. The good thing about this is that it has a longer life! So whoever chooses they are absolutely the same!

No more than ok. In fact the feeling here remember me a little the perfume Puma Man. Nothing to disturb the senses, doesn't scream anything, it could, perhaps, be better classified as a casual one.
