F by Ferragamo Free Time

what a beauty, under rated, aromatic fresh spicy fragrance, very close to the latest formulation of dior homme sport 2017 version, but of course not the same, coz it doesnt have sandalwood or iris, also costs less than half the price of dior homme sport, love the bottle, love the smell, its not niche but good for everyday man, day version of very popular F black, reviewers need to talk about these kind of fragrances more, those who have cravings for very up class complex niche fragrances wont like it, but it will appeal to masses, nice lemon, pepper, ginger, cardamom and vetiver woody combo.very decent performance too, good for summer and spring 8.5/10

SF for me is one of the better designers. I have all the F’s and Free Time opens with beautiful blast of citrus, I get a hint of ginger, but the opening reminds me of the Italian drink Lemoncella. As it dries down pink pepper shows up but on me only last a short while while the bottom end shows up. A nice touch of the three (vetiver, cedar and white musk) and they all compliment each other. On me this is a little above average in performance. The 3 of the F’s give you year round performance. F homme cooler spring and fall, F Black, colder Winter and Free Time warmer, summer. Blind buy, Yes! On all three!

I know F Black from this flanker line tends to get the most love on YouTube and fragrance forums but this may very well be my favorite from the F series. This is an extremely versatile warm weather fragrance and it definitely still has that F series DNA in there. I've worn this in the office, casually running errands, outside dinner dates, at the beach, etc. I would say the only occasion this wouldn't work would be something formal. Longevity isn't the greatest and the silliage is moderate at best but for the budget price point you still get your money's worth and more. 8.5/10

Like sitting on the Amalfi cost sipping lemoncello ! Well, not exactly. But it's lemon, lemon, lemon. Similar to the way the grapefruit jumps out of Bvlgari Aqva Marine minus the florals. Personally I really like it. Longevity is not stellar, but I did see a trick on a youtube review. I spray, let it dry, then spray again and that really does help. Great casual and/or work summer scent. I know the F series takes its licks but you can pick up all 3 50 ml bottles at TJ Maxx/Marshalls for under $20 each and have a nice little versatile starter wardrobe.

I just bought this earlier and it was amazing! A very citrusy, youthful and fresh scent. I love the whole package of this scent from the first spray of the day until everything dries up. It leaves a very pleasant scent for me. Definitely a must have for younger teens as it's not over powering and will give you a very pleasant smell. like a fresh lemon. I will recommend it to friends and people I know! :)

Better than I thought it would be. It’s actually very well balanced. Sweet lemon cream with oceanic and ozonic vibes, these notes are not listed but there is definitely sea salt and aldehydes. I feel like I am at a Mediterranean beach when I put this on. Bright and uplifting ready for spring and summer vibes! 4.5/5

Why do people complain things aren't original on this site so often? This smells amazing and is a perfect summer scent, no one will really have it, and I'm not a big fan of the whole citrus scents which this does have but after about 15min of wearing it you cant smell it anymore and it just smells good! Very FRESH

Don't know why it reminds me of my childhood Reminds me of a luxury bathroom in a 5 star hotel room or a luxury soap. Very soapy, clean, fresh scent. I've tried 5 perfumes from this house and I'm blown away with all of these. Very underrated Its performance is also very moderate Great cheapie for the summers 8/10

A very classy, high quality scent.. citrus with that F backbone. Very nice. I wish it lasted longer, but.. it's a citrus-based fragrance and one can just re-apply as needed. Very nice scent!

Fresh smell that is good and worth the buy I got it for around $35 and it's great for everyday use for men or at work maybe good for summer and spring.

I love this stuff. I really have become smitten for the whole Ferragamo line of F's and Acqua Essenziale's. These are fragrances that should be way, way more talked about and appreciated. Made by the Master's of perfumery (read the nose behind the brand) and you can see what I mean. This is Summer Heaven. In East Texas around June is the time I'm smelling this. I recently picked up some Virgin Island Water, Versace Pour Homme, and Artisan by John Varvatos. I already had Acqua Di Gio, Versace Eau Fraiche and myriad others. Now those of you who say, "this gets lost in the crowd", maybe don't have the same crowd I do. In my crowd of fresh and aquatics, this and the Acqua Essenziale colonia stand out with immense satisfaction. Both are easily worn in great heat. The heat we get here tests the limit on what is comfortable over periods of time at high temperatures. I will admit Eau Fraiche by Versace and Acqua Di Parma have been fragrances that excel. I'm fond of Virgin Island water and CKone summer 2014 for my summer vacation type scents. But, if you are like me, you can get bored of these same old, same old's. Now, enter Ferragamo Free time. This is like Eau Fraiche, every bit as good and appropriate for the same instances. Think about the last time you had to grab Eau Fraiche for that regular summery go to and maybe, just maybe you too realize how alone it sits. There's just a lot of situations that Eau Fraiche is best suited for, and its a summer regular. It's easy to wear. This is the same, except better. Just is. If you are tired of wearing Versace Eau Fraiche for everything that it is appropriate for and want something else for those common summer occasions, pick this up.

Synthetic citrus in the open of loud grapefruit, bergamot that quickly recedes to a sharp, enduring, more natural lemon. The citrus in this has great staying power, you can easily encounter an hour of fresh lemon. As the lemon blast softens, the vetiver, ginger, and cedar emerges. Sillage is moderate but will likely be louder in summer temperatures. The scent cloud withers away within two hours to skin scent but at close sniff, it remained on a test card and clothing for over 24 hours, beat only by Versace Blue Jeans, which I tested for longevity at the same time (also with Chrome Legend and Halston Man, both much shorter lived). The bottle shape is pleasing and hefty, as is the gradient blue coloring of the glass, but the spray mechanism and top trim is a cheap plastic, the "Pour Homme" font is similarly cheap-looking so I ripped the plastic part off and the bottle looks much better without it. This is a viable alternative to or layering partner with Versace Eau Fraiche or a woods heavy scent. Yes, it's not a signature scent, but a neutral sport or hot weather friend, and at a bargain on ebay or in stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

F by Ferragamo Free Time is a citrus, aromatic, and musky fragrance. Its opening is fresh and citrusy, with a penetrating note that seems to contain aldehydes. Minutes later, aromatic elements such as spices are perceived, giving it greater body and an almost aquatic sensation, which lasts until its final phase with a musky and woody aroma. Its longevity on me was 7 hours, with a regular sillage for the first 2 hours, which then diminishes until it remains close to the skin. Free Time is basically a daytime fragrance for spring and summer days, trips to the beach, casual outings, etc. Its aroma is very pleasant, and it's also affordable. I would put it on my list of fragrances to blind buy because there's little risk of not liking it, but if you do, you can definitely give it to someone and they'll thank you for it.

Ferragamo has done it yet again for me! They're some of the best designer scents you can get with a very reasonable price tag. Free Time is a very pleasing, easy-to-like scent. I will say that it's a little generic, but it's also done so well that it don't see that it matters all that much. It surprised me how much this was still somewhat reminiscent of the other scents in the F line. The notes are fairly different, but the spiciness is still there in this one. I wouldn't say it's at all a clone of this, but it definitely reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. That said, it's still also doing its own thing. The ginger goes very nicely with the lemon. Performance is lacking a little bit. It projects for about 3 hours.

This is a citrus/ginger/woody fragrance that manages to be light and well-balanced. It's very contemporary and gets close to the character of an aquatic and sport style fragrance. Like most SF scents for men, projection is not huge (a positive for me) and the longevity is adequate rather than outstanding. I will be wearing this in rotation for work/business and I will delight in wearing a fragrance that's pleasant but most people I meet won't recognise! I have to say I'm impressed with the SF approach to composing men's fragrances. Judged on their merits, and not the advertising budget, they rate highly.

Ferragamo Free Time is like a breeze of early spring. Invigorating and clear. Lemon and ginger are straight forward, the vetiver joins a few minutes later. If you are one of those "lemon smells like furniture cleaning", then stay away from this fragrance. But if you love lemon and citrus scents (like I do) then you'll enjoy F free time. It's a simple scent, nothing unique nor revolutionary. But the lemon and ginger last longer than on any fragrance that I can think. It's not a fragrance to turn heads, but just to enjoy.

Minus the aquatic notes, it has a similar freshness and citrus of the original 90's ADG with musk and pepper added. Lots of Cardamom and Pepper in the drydown after the Lemon and ozonic notes are gone...dries down to be similar to Pasha Declaration. Top notes of Lemon and Ginger fade after about 20-30 minutes. Longevity is 5-6 hours tops on my skin...most of it being spice and green notes. Still one of the best summer cheapies that is not overly sweet and youthful. A universally good and safe office smell.

This reminds me a lot of Big Pony 1 by Ralph Lauren. Instead of the Amalfi lemon, I’m picking up a strong lime scent. It’s not an exact match to F Free Time, but they’re very similar. Maybe it’ll change with some maceration, but for now, I’d say they’re about 60% alike. At the end of the day, it’s a solid choice for a hot summer day. There’s nothing particularly special about it, but it’s safe and inoffensive. If you’re into clean, citrusy scents, this is the one to go for. 6/10

Great cheap and weirdly nostalgic fragrance. Clean lemon scent with some pepper, ginger and cardamom after it settles down. Very slightly musky and woody at the very end (3-4 hours). Would love to give it a higher rating but it doesn't last very long. The use cases for this would probably be a casual outing or beach trip and any longer you'd really need to overspray.

This one has been a hit for me all summer long, at first it's nicely blended lemon who turn out to be ping pong match between ginger and pink pepper. like stated before great for hot sweaty day (like right now). The atomiser is great and gives you a generous spray and therefore enough juice on your skin for amore than decent longevity.

Really just another "blue" fragrance for me. Its fresh, nice and wont offend anyone. Really just a "out of the shower" smell to be, but somehow I really like it. It doesnt preforme that good, but then just reaply. My bottle is just 30ml and I dont think I well run out of juice anytime soon, but it was fun as long as it lasted.

Good cheap freshie. Opening is VERY heavy lemon. 4-5 sprays and lasts most of the day, turning into a skin scent after 4 hours. Does not project like F Black does. Good everyday spring/summer casual scent. Clean. Definitely worth a blind buy for $15 or less for 50ml. I have 100ml and it will last me a lifetime.

Indeed, a very nice one. Simple and utterly pleasant. Citruses, pink pepper, vetiver. Sparkling and spicy. Not innovative, but a great choice for summer days. I enjoy it on my own skin even. They really could launch it as a separate fragrance, not a flanker. I hope it's not a limited edition.

I just got this today at Marshall's for $12, and I must say that I am loving this bright citrus, ginger thing. I have a lot of other summer citrus frags but this is something different. I am testing it on skin now and even if it does not project this is one I love for myself.

Soprry folks but does not smell like Acqua Di Gio. If Acqua Di Gio smelled like this, I would have been a fan of the overly hyped Acqua Di Gio. If there is any similarity, its the Lemon notes since day wear/Sport fragrances usually contain citrus notes.

For me, this is a great fragrance to take to the gym with you. After a hard workout and a shower, the lemon and ginger invigorate the mind and body. After a few hours, it dries down to a nice musky/woody smell, which is pleasing in a different way.

Nothing to dislike here really! Straight up citrus and a clean slightly green vetiver in there with average staying power and pleasant drydown. Not bad...but lost in the crowd.

Its a light summer freshy, its good enough and will get compliments. Moderate sillage and longevity but I wouldn't say its one of my favorites for summer.

The citrus fragrance is dominant on the 1st few minutes then it changes to a more vivid tire fragrance as it softens found it very nice and refreshing

Agree with several reviews said it's some of nostalgic scent, however i get a soft drink vipe. Performance is moderate - how i like my fragrances 👍-

This one smells like sprite, which I enjoy. But it lasts like 2 hours! And the bottle makes it hard to travel with. I'd skip this one

This reminds me of Franck Olivier Blue Touch and it's a clone of acqua di gio, not exact clone but similar

Except for the first minute, it's very similar to elder brother "Ferragamo F Pour Homme". Good quality.

I've yet to find a frag by this company that I did not like. For $30/100ml, it's a great buy.

Disclaimer: I don't like vetiver so this was not for me. I gave it to my father in law (artistic man in his 50s) and it works very good on him, I actually like how it smells on others. It's the summer version of the original F: The opening is lemon+ginger instead of "apple" + lavender (sour citrusy green apple, almost grapefruity to me). The black pepper is replaced by the cardamom and pink pepper combo which gives it an interesting and alluring twist and the drydown is also here a bit more mature, with vetiver filling the role of the leather note in the original while musk substitutes amber. The price is amazing as with the whole line, the performance is good for a summer scent, I think it projects pretty well for the first hour and lasts around 6h. Strictly summer and hotter spring days scent. Nice but not for me.

This is a nice bright and uplifting summer citrus freshie. The ginger really boosts the opening here and you get a nice creamy drydown with that hint of spice from the cardamom and pepper lingering. Very well blended - nothing here is too dominant or in your face. I would class this as an ideal casual fragrance for hotter weather - you won't stand out from the crowd but you will still smell nice for a good few hours and sometimes that is all you require. 6/10

Beware of a blind buy. I got a small decant, and was lucky that I did not blind buy a bottle. This seems to be headache inducing. On clothing and in the air it is a strong and cloying generic fruity scent. On skin it turned a bit soapy/fruity, and was much less strong. The only way I would want to test this again is to spray it on skin outside of my house, and then run back inside. Ultimately, there is much better out there.

To my nose this is mandarin, ginger, pink pepper, and vetiver mostly. I hardly get any cedar or much of a body to the dry down. This is super crisp and vanishes pretty fast. This is not worth the money. I highly recommend you get Insurrection Pure II SPORT instead if you have been wanting something similar with slightly better lasting power, and overall a slightly better scent just in general.

Undistinguished. It opens with gingery citrus notes, and smells clean/fresh/sporty for a few hours. Then it's gone. There are any number of scents on the market that have this exact same olfactory signature. Free Time smells like what jaded reviewers call a "Calone Clone." Oceanic/marine/fresh... to my nose boring. If you are a small insect walking across the body part you have sprayed this upon, then it has sillage. Otherwise not. "Safe for the office" - a place where tedium reigns. Fits right in. Nice bottle. Looks kind of like a Star Trek prop, or what a house stager would put atop a beach house bedroom dresser.

Mmm. Only if I'm running low on a gym fragrance, and I can purchase this from a deep discount retail chain. Otherwise, there is no burning motivation to purchase it.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. Bright lemon at the opening and after a bit you get the pepper. Like I've said before I'm not a big fan of pepper, but this is more mild and adds a kick rather than a body slam. At the dry down it's nice and fresh with a hint of lemon, but semi warm from the cardamom. Very, very nice. The only down side is on me the performance isn't the best. I remember the review from the man below me (my favorite YouTube reviewer) and I always trust his nose. I have found we like many of the same scents and he gave this a big thumbs up. Once again he is on point, so thank you for helping out myself and the community. Your in depth reviews are greatly appreciated. Keep up your hard work, all of your success is well deserved. Overall this is a great scent that shines in the spring and summer. It's not quite like any others in my collection, so it does get playing time. Age I'd say early 20's and up, but has some class to it for a "casual" scent. Day to night leaning day, and might do well as a work scent.. but I'd say it'd be great when you have some "free time". Can't wait for summer to rock this one. Bottom line.. great juice.
