Jaipur Chant

Testing Jaipur Chant from a 2 ml Sana Jardin official sample. Stunning, bubblegumy, sweet, airy tuberose perfume! It’s fairly potent and projects well for the first hour of application on skin. From my collection, it’s reminding me of Giorgio Armani My Way Intense and L’Interdit range without calling Jaipur Chant a dupe for any designer perfume mentioned above. It’s a touch fresher than the two perfumes mentioned earlier, because Jaipur Chant has the top notes heavily revolving around lemon, both as a fruit and as blossom. But once it gets to a deep dry down, it’s certainly a sweet, bubblegum tuberose/jasmine bomb. It’s a sensual, delicious, and inviting fragrance! If you feel like splurging, because it’s a bit pricer than the Armani or the Givenchy, you will get a wonderful perfume for your spring and summer collection. I don’t feel the urge to purchase a bottle for full price (because I have already so many tuberose/jasmine perfumes), but I can’t lie and say I don’t adore the way this scent smells. It’s beautifully done and for white florals fans, it’s 100% a safe blind buy. It’s really good and radiant in the air and makes me smile! Highly recommend Jaipur Chant. For comparison purposes, I am testing Jaipur Chant side by side with another niche perfume, more expensive, also heavy on jasmine and tuberose, Madurai from Memo Paris. All I can smell in the air is Jaipur Chant! Madurai smells more unique but it’s almost instantly a skin scent.. So depending on what you’re comparing to figure if a perfume it’s good value for money, you’ll get different results. Jaipur Chant is the first perfume I’ve tried from the Discovery set and I am absolutely pleased with my experience!

This is very similar to Tuberosa by Miller Harris and Laboratorio Olfattivo's Tuberosis. Both are white floral, buttery tuberose fragrances, but they use soft spices to lighten up the fragrance whereas this uses citrus, which I prefer. The use of citrus not only lightens up the tuberose keeping it fresh, more versatile, and easier to wear but it also adds a sparkling element. While it is definitely in the same light airy white floral vein, I happen to think this is prettier and like it more than either. However, it is not a very powerful fragrance, at least after the initial spray. It softens up quite a lot. After about two hours it becomes close to a skin scent, though it does last for several hours. Fortunately, I can still smell it on myself as it encapsulates me in a little scent bubble of fragrance that is not playing peekaboo but is always there. One thing I am sad about is that this brand went out of business as I really like the concept behind it of empowering women to help them escape poverty. It's too bad it wasn't a successful endeavor for such a noble project, though clearly not for want of trying as the quality of the ingredients used were top notch. Hopefully, they'll be able to start something new to achieve their objective.

This takes me away to India all over again. I never heard of Sana Jardin until recently and I was immediately intrigued because it does not only support and empower women but the essential oils used by the brand are sustainably source. So when Liberty's London reopened I decided to drop by and test the line. I love my white floral and oriental fragrances and so I tried Savage Jasmine which is indolic, Tiger by her Side is a lovely orange blossom and vanilla. I love these two but I already have fragrances that share the same cord so it was not for me until I tested Jaipur Chant. The tuberose in Jaipur Chant is green and uplifting which is something that I prefer in comparison to the dense 'bubblegum' scent. This would have to to be one of those fragrances which is close to a real tuberose. It is heady but not loud. Lastly, I have been to Jaipur myself and I could understand the inspiration behind this fragrance which are white floral garlands found everywhere in India especially in temples. I did get a full bottle of Jaipur Chant, the magnetic cap and exceptional packaging is well thought, attention to detail even the logo is exquisite. Simply divine!

Cream & zest, sparkly and vibrant but quite sweet at the same time. Very well-balanced smell, airy but noticeable and concentrated. Tuberose is a leading note here, beautifully tamed with citrus and some green undertones at the background. Feels a bit like a vintage fragrance but with modern twist. Fragrance has it’s own character, it’s not screaming in your face but more like a person with good maners that catches your attention. For those kind of creations great talent is needed. Performance is great - about 6-7 hours (4 sprays), projection - for 3 hours (after application), than it sits closer to the skin.

You definitely need to like white florals to enjoy this because oof, this is a punch in the face with tuberose and jasmine. Fortunately for me, I love white florals, but this is definitely pretty strong. The lemon lends a sweetness that I enjoy, and the clove gives this a bit of greenness that helps set Jaipur Chant apart from other white floral fragrances. The more I smell this, the more I love it, but I feel like this is something I’d enjoy smelling in an expensive spa or posh hotel lobby, rather than on myself. I like my fragrances to project to about arm’s length, and this one is simply too potent for me.

For me, it's hard to make a balanced tuberose scent - but Sana Jardin have made it. Jaipur Chant is perfectly balanced, beautiful summer fragrance with tuberose at its heart. All the other notes play secondary roles but help to achieve a harmonious white floral chant. Unlike other tuberose-centred scents, on my skin this one doesn't have the light "rotten flower" vibe. Lovely!

a very lush white floral medley with jasmine and tuberose, the tuberose leaning green and watery. There's a bit of a fresh citrusy backbone to the opening that really lightens things up. The drydown there's some warm and musky woods that binds the scent together. Overall a beautifully heady white floral scent with fresh citrus and a warmly woody dry down. A gorgeous scent.

In general I really don't like tuberose, it gives me horrible headache. Well obviously this is not the case here. It's not too sweet and too creamy , so I guess it really depends how and with what is mixed. In conclusion I could say I love this perfume. It is enchanting!

This is a gorgeous, fragrant but mild tuberose / jasmin fragrance; very well blended. There’s lemon blossom and clove but they are not detectable. If you love tuberose, you’ll love this. Safe blind buy. Moderate projection. Lasts about. 4 hours.

It's a very beautiful oriental fragrance. One of my coworkers is from India, and even he made remarks that this scent is similar to him. It's sweet, fresh, while for simultaneously creamy. A nice blend of rich and light.

To me, this is super reminiscent of the white champaca flower scent that was in so many places in Taipei growing up in the 80s. So, it’s slightly indolent and just touches something deep inside. So, I love it.

Gorgeous seductive floral scent, reminds me slightly of Frederick malle Carnal Flower. Love this fragrance house, perfect for leaving a mysterious and alluring trail.

Who is saying this is a soft gentle scent? Are we smelling the same thing? The is like getting a nose full of lemon juice and getting smacked with a bouquet immediately after. The spray point is well rounded from the musk, but the way it radiates is too citrusy and green for me, I’m getting a bit of earl gray tea. More like the leaves and stems than the actual tuberose flower, and there’s something lightly soapy. I’m really having to focus to find the jasmine. One thing I will say, the drydown on the spray point is an incredible warm white floral after about 3 hours. Unfortunately once we get to the softer heart and base the sillage is too weak, which is why I still wouldn’t get this even if I liked it. I’ve tried this 4 times months apart, and there are much just other nicer scents in this genre of green/citrusy white floral, that are a bit less sneeze inducing.

It's a clean, fresh yet creamy scent. I can almost hear the little prayer bells ringing. There is though a strong animalic element which I am not so keen on. I guess thats the tuberose doing its indolic thing. I do like the fact that it's been accompanied by citrus notes. The narcissus provides the tinkle of the bells. The musk smoothes and softens the whole. The narcissus note can be quite sharp. It does evolve a bit with the tuberose sharing the stage with the lemon blossom. The animalic element thankfully wains a bit after a short while. The overall impression is of a calm, cleanish musk scent with a generous dollop of tuberose and some citrus to provide a freshness. Very unisex and I imagine lovely for wearing in hot weather. I get average sillage and longevity in this cold environment.

This fragrance is a pleasant white floral. It’s a really beautiful white floral that’s smoothly blended, but is let down by its longevity (perhaps because it’s mainly heart notes with not a lot of strength in the base.) I don’t smell lemon, which I’m quite glad about because lemon tends to remind me of cleaning products, but there is a brightness in the top notes that might be coming from the citrus. I don’t really smell musk either, although it’s very possible it’s just blended in elegantly. I wouldn’t buy a FB due to the longevity, but it’s a nice fragrance and might work well layered over something thats more base note heavy.

As I always say it’s hard to mess up tuberoses It’s wonderful Sparkling Radiant enough to be appreciated Lasts for a good while Although it doesn’t seem very special or unique but there is a nice twists and turns with the lemon and musk but the boss is undisputed I have better tuberoses centred scents that way better than this so it’s just a good thing to try but not enough uniqueness to own

A creamy, potent, naturalistic and bright tuberose and jasmine fragrance. It is lovely but the near lack of base notes puzzles me; the musk softens the edges of the florals but doesn’t feel like it provides an adequate foundation. (Maybe that was intentional, though - the scent hangs in the air much like the notes of a chant.)

the first spray of this was super strong for me initially, however it eases down nicely and smells like you're resting in a bath full of bubbles and white flower petals. i feel really elegant when wearing this and its perfect spring vibes, great for floral lovers. 9/10

Creamy, seductive white floral bouquet, quite carnal and sexy if you like florals. Quite heavy, so probably best in the winter. Like most of Sana Jardin fragrances, seem to rely heavily on white flowers. Nice blend, and long lasting unlike most modern fragrances.

This is a nice surprise. It’s a very pleasant tuberose with good sillage and longevity. I’ve tried many tuberose perfumes and I’ve become very fussy about them and this is much better than I thought it would be. I’m tempted to buy a bigger bottle.

This is light as air... Bubblegum tuberose and jasmine. Slightly indolic, creamy and bright.

Potent, heavy tuberose and jasmine scent. I don't know who this registers as soft on, maybe it's a body chemistry thing. But this one packs a punch. I had to actually scrub it off.

This perfume lasts foreverrrr on my skin but it smells like hair gel from my childhood- maybe Blue Magic? Lol it’s not for me

Lemon and tuberose. I have no idea whether I like or not. It’s interesting for sure.

I wanted to love this one so bad since it has narcissus, one of my favorite scent. Unfortunately, it smells exactly like Crayola on my skin, which reminds me of Lust by Lush, but the crayon smell in Jaipur Chant is much stronger. It does dry down to something citrusy and powdery but the crayon smell just never goes away. Long story short, it smells nothing like the scent description, at least on my skin.

This is largely a buttery tuberose with a prominent jasmine. Sadly, the jasmine that is in a lot of the Sana Jardin fragrances has a chemical smell to my nose. This opens up with a buttery tuberose, and then a chemical jasmine which turns slightly animalic/stinky. The dry down is a tuberose-dominant white floral. Unfortunately the chemical nature of the jasmine in this ruins it for me.

I really, really want to love this, both for its notes and the Jaipur imagery, but on me it's oppressive and nauseating. I love sleepy, hazy scents, but with my skin chemistry, every single one smells heartbreakingly like decomposing funeral flowers. Unfortunately this one is no exception, but it's a beautiful scent in the bottle, and if you get along with tuberose you'll love this.

This sample leaked in a discovery set I received and my first thought is that it smelled like a floral candle. I agree with below reviews that there is something “chemical” like that my nose is picking up. On skin this isn’t as distinct, it has warmed up a touch but it is still a sharp white floral as compared to my preferences. I’m more excited to try the others from the line.

I love the idea, but like the Savage Jasmine in Sana Jardin range, I can't get the chemical taste out of my mouth several hours later.

why does this smell like bleu cheese on me????

So, I'm enamored with this creamy, seductive tuberose scent, which bears a close resemblance to the buttery tuberose found in Carnal Flower; however, I also find it frustrating. As with Savage Jasmine (which seems to have disappeared from the S.J. website) -- it's beautiful but wears so close to the skin as to be barely perceptible and has very low longevity on me personally. My skin has always 'eaten' tuberose scents so this - hopefully - won't hold true for everyone, but in my case it's unfortunately so quiet and short lived but soooo beautiful, leaving me incredibly disappointed every time I wear it, so - unsurprisingly - I reach for this beauty rarely. If you have the same issue I have with tuberose -- I've finally found a couple that last on me - hooray!! After years of searching: BDK's Tuberose Imperial, and Matiere Premiere's French Flower linger beautifully for hours and hours.

Jaipur Chant by Sana Jardin & perfumer, Carlos Benaïm opens with the brightness of lemon and sweet mandarin gently spiced with cloves, with the Indian tuberose standing proud and voluptuous in all her morning glory aided and elevated by Moroccan jasmine and French narcisse. The first impression is rather innocent but the indoles do reveal their warmth and animalic nature to heighten the sensuality. The freshness of the citrus top notes against the richness of the carnal floral heart gives off this beautiful creaminess which I like about this fragrance. Later, musk rises up softening the intense florals. It is a unisex fragrance and great for the warmer weather. Longevity and projection is moderate for the first few hours then scent sits closer to the skin.

I'm really enjoying this. It's initially reminiscent (no really, bear with me!) of a *very* old favourite - Leap, the vastly underrated 90s perfume from the Body Shop. Where Leap balanced its citrus and green with mimosa, Jaipur Chant centres tuberose - but the zest of the opening here (lemon blossom, sharp clove leaf and green narcissus) is just as striking. The overall impression is both fresh and sumptuous, drying down to a creamy musk softened further by jasmine - a day-to-night of white flowers.

Honeyed white florals, a good dose of tuberose, then citrussy notes that make this slightly unusual and lemony. Jasmine is also strongly noticeable, and there's something green in the background. It's a lush, realistic, exotic floral scent. This is just my kind of thing - and though it's not especially groundbreaking, it's a very beautiful and summery interpretation of this genre. I only got about 4 hours wear before this became a skin scent though.

Of the Sana Jardin set, Jaipur chant hurts my feelings the most. I really really like it, but it performs so poorly I could never buy a full bottle. I think it's such a nice use of tuberose, nesting it among greener, brighter elements, but still anchoring it with a soft musk, so you get that beautiful, milky, comforting tuberose. The lemon is so pretty, and the clove is an amazing support. For me, this is the standout of the set.

To me, this seems very close to Frédéric Malle’s Carnal Flower. A consultant on the Frédéric Malle stand in Selfridges told me that Carnal Flower has the highest proportion of tuberose of any perfume on the market. This must run it a close second.

This is the lightest, most delicate floral perfume I have ever tried. It's like a lighter than air floral. Just think of the original Michael Kors perfume but then make it 1,000x more pure and natural smelling.

Unfortunately too dirty-indolic for me but still nicer than Savage Jasmine. Has an ethereal quality due to its lack of strong base notes.
