Vanilla Musk

I initially tested Nest Madagascar Vanilla Body Mist then the Nest Perfume Oil I had to get the Nest Body Mist it is beautiful but at $105 for the oil that was a NO. I do not own any perfume oils but the scent is gorgeous and certainly it is refreshing to have a vanilla that is more powdery than gourmand. So I checked out the reviews and decided to look into this to see the similarities and let me tell you this is THE SAME. I can no tell no difference. So I could've paid $105 for Nest or paid $15 for this. It is a gorgeous almost effervescent powdery, dry, vanilla, the coconut I guess on my skin doesn't come across very strong which I am grateful for because there are few fragrances I like that have coconut notes that don't smell artificial and cloying. Super glad I read the reviews and did not do an impulse purchase there. I can also see this as being safe to layer with other fragrances with similar notes. Really pretty and great value.

I have NEVER liked vanilla fragrances, until NOW! This is absolutely oh so beautiful! I found it for $16.99 at Marshall’s for the 1.7oz EDP rollerball. This makes me think of comfy sweaters and being cozy. This is so much different than anything I have ever owned or worn, I just don’t like vanilla or gourmand perfumes but this has really got me thinking that I either 1) had my preferences change with no warning or 2) maybe I am starting to grow up and fall in love with deeper more intriguing fragrances. The name for this is spot on but it’s got something extra about it that makes it more than just a vanilla musk. Now I have to reevaluate all the perfumes I’ve overlooked because I just didn’t like that type of perfume! Who knows maybe I’ll found a new top five!!!

Just got this. funny enough I spotted this oil weeks ago and smelled it and liked it but I have so many different variations of vanilla I felt like maybe I should let others enjoy it besides myself. Went back in and it was still there, I smelled it again, this time a little oil got on my fingers, i walked away and this waft of vanilla beautifullness (not a word, I know) hit me and I had to walk back and finally get this. It's such a rich, intense concentration of vanilla, its sweet however is not gourmand, its more of a balance between sweet and floral and its so velvety. Wearing this as a base for everything now.

Lovely gorgeous scent and lasts forever. I often prefer oils to perfumes for the longevity factor but this one just smells so beautiful to me that even without that bias I’d adore it LOL love a good Marshall’s beauty buy. I have it in a cute little roll on filled with little amethyst pieces. Update: put on yesterday morning, and yesterday night (12 hrs later) I was in the basement sewing. I go back down there this morning (7 hrs later) and all I smell is this. How??!!! Witchcraft!!!! Oh Vanilla Musk I will go to war for you...

I wear this as a base layer almost every single day in the winter. I like my vanilla musky; I find it holds my interest and keeps me from smelling like a cupcake. Since I live in Michigan, many of my beloved citrus florals don’t work in the winter, but if I apply this first, it warms them up. I’ve found it pairs easier with citrus rather than floral forward scents. The other day I put it under Tocca Stella (orange bomb) and I was reminded of oranges at Christmas. It’s lovely and a work horse. I will always have a bottle.

When I first saw this in tj max I was a bit skeptical since when you smell fragrances straight from the bottle they sometimes smell of metal or alcohol but this is purely oil but when I opened the bottle the most delicious vanilla wind came from the bottle I'm a gourmand enthusiast but I was on a lookout for a vanilla that was just Vanilla. No frosting no cupcakes just vanilla with anise like beauty it's gorgeous and only 14.99 what a steal get this as either layering base or just to wear alone it's lovely 100/10 😆

I have the Vanilla Musk Oil and I ADORE her!! If I put this on after a shower and lotion, this is staying on me for a WHILE. In my personal opinion it's not a gourmand vanilla that's specifically really sweet and laconic but a fresh, and CLEAN vanilla. I love this oil for layering as it adds a unique vanilla scent on me for hourssss. I love it and highly recommend it for all vanilla lovers but just understand it's not a sugar filled vanilla. I bought mine at TJ Maxx for like $12 so definitely recommend!

I got this at TJ Maxx for $14.99 and that was a steal because this is a wonderful scent that really works well on my skin. It's not the sugary sweet kind of vanilla that smells like buttercream frosting like their White Vanilla. This is more elegant and sensual. It lasted all night on my skin. Starts off a bit powdery but then it develops into a sexy, musky, and warm vanilla that would layer well with just about anything. I think I will have to stock up on this one!

The fragrance that made me realize I actually like vanilla! Normally, vanilla is too cloying and heavy for me. But this — The perfect soft layering scent for any season. I don’t super love the coconut and orchid note at the beginning, but it fades pretty quickly, and you’re left with a beautiful musky vanilla skin scent that lasts a few hours on me and blends nicely with other sweet scents. Smells pretty identical to Nest’s Madagascar Vanilla! Also so affordable :)

I’ve had the Nest Madagascar perfume oil for years and I’ve been saving my little mini perfume oil, but thank god someone from Reddit suggested this. I found the perfume version of this at Winners for 100ml and it’s exactly the same! I love layering this with all my sweet perfumes. This scent is perfect for any season. Not too cloying or intensely sweet. Strong vanilla and coconut. Longevity is not there, but better than paying $150 for 30ml of perfume oil.

Smells amazinggg. Vanilla, Coconut, Woody, Musky goodness ! I love layering this with YSL Libre Le Parfum when I’m going out for the night, and it pairs SO WELL. It lasts even longer than most perfumes I have and it just smells great. Only downside is that the opening smells a bit off to me and the coconut note is a bit too overpowering for my liking (I have a love hate relationship with coconut in fragrances), but that’s about it. 8.5/10 rating for me !!

Another one in my top 5 in this line. I think it’s a perfect vanilla. This makes me want to try Nest’s Madagascar Vanilla! Love it! Knocks white vanilla out of the park! A much more natural vanilla. Edit: My first sample bottle of this was fire. I lost that one and got a different sampler pack, the other one has a pickley sandalwood or coconut unfortunately so there clearly are batch discrepancies. I smelled the wash and lotion and got pickle too. Sad.

I grabbed a backup bottle of this because I don’t see myself ever getting tired of it, and I am going through it very quickly. It is so pleasant at night right before bed time. I like to massage it into my hair because it plays well with most other scents I have chosen for my skin. Cozy, rich, warm, and unoffensive. Great staying power. I love to combine it with another oil that is an amber-and-lemongrass blend.

This reminds me of Vanilla Fields Winter. That isn't to say it's a smellalike -- it's been an awfully long time since I had that perfume, so my memory of it may be flawed -- but that it has the same sort of spicy, cozy vibe. I think I tend to go for cool vanillas more often than not. This is a warm vanilla, definitely gourmand, and definitely worth grabbing if you see it. I love it so much that I stocked up.

I prefer the perfume oil to the eau de toilette for better performance. This scent is a 10/10 for me. I never get tired of wearing it, and I particularly love it before bed. I also like to layer it with an indie amber + lemongrass rollerball I have. A couple of years after owning this I got my nose on Nest Madagascar Vanilla. They are virtually identical, but Vanilla Musk has my heart. More affordable too.

This is what Vanilla Vibes wishes it could be. A light and airy vanilla that is sweet enough to be likable but not too sweet to where it's headache inducing. It's not gourmand or heavy so it is very suitable for warm weather but it's also suitable for cold weather because of the comforting vibe I get from this. I absolutely love this and the price point makes adding it to my collection a no-brainer.

Comforting and versatile layered or as a standalone. I just put it on after my shower before bed and I swear all the tension just left my body, it's such a comforting scent. It's not too strong or overly sweet and cloying, and the musk and vanilla are well-balanced. I got this cheap at TJmaxx and was not expecting much, but this is now one of my favorite scents on my shelf.

This is a spot on dupe for Nest Madagascar vanilla. I LOOOOOVE this. The price and quality is unbeatable. 100% Repurchase I layer it with everything it's so beautiful. Honestly, I hate the fact that it was added on here because I wanted to gatekeep for as long as possible. Then again you all deserve to smell delicious <3

This is so good! I love wearing this with Fursan White( I usually reserve the actual Madagascar Vanilla for layering with the actual Vanilla Powder) because they both have creamy coconut and vanilla notes! Honestly this is wonderful on its own but layers well with so many vanilla, creamy, coconut, and lactonic scents.

I found the perfume spray at TJ Maxx, and didn’t think much of it at first. After I got home I realized how long it lasted, and I like it. You get a big bottle for under $20. It’s warm, comforting vanilla musk with some coconut. Not too sweet.

This perfume oil is so lovely! Found it at TJ Maxx for $16.99. I don’t usually wear perfume oils but this is really nice for work if you want low projection and want the scent to stick to skin. This is a true musky vanilla, not overly sweet.

This is almost exactly Nest Madagascar Vanilla. Got the perfume oil with the dropper at Marshall's. A male friend noticed it and immediately said: Ok, I'm turned on. That's all I have to report on Vanilla Musk.

Amazing vanilla!! I use it to layer and it’s good to wear on its own as well. I actually prefer this one over white vanilla, I picked up a backup after I realized how much I liked the first bottle!!

I've never smelled Outremer Vanille so I cannot compare these fragrances. I can honestly say it's not an exact dupe or over 80% like any other affordable vanilla I've tried or own, but it's a cousin. I think this has enough happening to smell of *perfume* and not simple vanilla, you know? But it's not a busy fragrance whatsoever, and there is a coconutty fluff alongside the vanilla. It reminds me somewhat of Vanilla Musk from Nemat, or Zoha Vanilla Bloom (which is really similar), but I don't believe this is exactly the same and it wouldn't be redundant to own both. I see why people draw similarities though. It also doesn't smell exactly like Vanilla Coconut from B&BW, which smells more like a candle (in a good way, but still). But again, I understand the comparison and agree that they're similar. When describing cheap vanillas, it's almost impossible not to pit them against one another, but often I just think that if you like vanilla in general you'll probably enjoy most of them with some exceptions. This is nice. Simple vanilla, with a bit of white musk to provide lift.

Grabbed this at TJ Maxx after being definitely influenced on TikTok (not to this particular scent, just watched about a million perfume videos😵💫). I smelled the oil first but I prefer regular sprayable perfume so I grabbed it. I think that the oil actually smelled a lot more true to the notes of vanilla and musk. In the store, it reminded me a lot of my fave and only vanilla which is Vanilla Skin body spray by Phlur and I thought it would be a good scent for layering. I got in my car and sprayed my shirt and arm and it does smell really good but I find the coconut note a little overpowering. It’s not very musky, despite the name. I think it would be nice layered with a more spicy musky scent. I’m not sure if I’m in love with it just yet, but I’m going to try a few combinations. It does project quite well and I’ve had it on my shirt for about 3 hours and it’s still quite strong.

Hm. This one is okay. I have never considered myself a vanilla lady anyways, but this is such a deep and rich vanilla it is almost nauseating. If you love vanilla, this is your scent. I have the oil dropper so just a little goes a long way, I have had the bottle for almost a year and still no dent in it, BUT, since this is almost just a straight up vanilla scent, it really is a good base for layering. It lasts forever as well so be very careful with how much you put on. Perfect for sweater weather and around the holidays. Imagine this; You are in a Hallmark movie, wearing a fluffy sweater grandma knitted, you walk into the local boutique and lock eyes with the love of your life. In that moment, nothing exists except you and them, oh, and the intoxicating scent of rich vanilla. You will forever associate this scent with the day your life changed. Overall rating, 7.5/10.

i got this in a roll-on discovery set and i was pleasantly surprised when i first tried it out. i normally don't like very vanilla-forward fragrances but this one feels much gentler than all the vanillas i dislike. the sugar and coconut mix with it so beautifully and i feel that the musk subdues the gourmand factor a bit. it truly just smells so warm and cozy and enwraps you in a sweet embrace. i also find that it pairs well with most of my floral perfumes ૮ ྀིᴗ͈ . ᴗ͈ ྀིა

A cozy, warm vanilla with a touch of coconut, amber, and musk. I feel that this is really well blended and incredibly smooth and relaxing. In too large of quantities it can induce a mild headache or nausea but that’s only if you overdo it. I like this one best for sleeping especially when paired with an aquatic fragrance to help me get relaxed and well rested. Very nice. For full transparency I have the perfume oil and not the alcohol spray.

I have a lot of perfume oils from this brand, and while I like Vanilla Musk, it is probably my least favorite out of the bunch. It's more coconut than anything else, so just know what to expect. It's more of a fresh scent vs. a gourmand. With that being said, I have the dropper version, and if I add a few drops to unscented lotion and apply, the scent does last for a loooong time! I like to layer it with La Vie Est Belle Vanille Nude.

found this at winners like a month ago, smelled it and was shocked how nearly identical it is to madagascar vanilla! finally went back for it yesterday bc I'm getting low on the real thing and it's a really really good dupe. i do lowkey understand what people mean by the slight pickley-ness, but it's not something I think I would have noticed if I hadn't read about it beforehand. for 15 bucks it's an incredible replacement

I like this fragrance quite a lot but I don't reach for it too often because the musk is STRONG. Headache inducingly strong. If you're sensitive to that type of smell you might consider layering it with something mellower (Vanilla Potion is the perfect counter!). It's a very mature, seductive vanilla. A sweet siren call. If you want to feel like the treats from Alice in Wonderland - "EAT ME" - look no further.

It’s not bad at all. As I’m starting to get more into fragrances I’m realizing when a fragrance says vanilla it doesn’t automatically mean traditional sweet candy vanilla there are many different types lol this one is more soft & powdery with nice hints of coconut. A more mature vanilla musky fragrance

It mostly smells of coconut, vanilla, and sugar. The coconut is soft, not overpowering. It has a powdery, velvety feel that makes it more comforting than gourmand, as it lacks that juicy, edible quality. Simple, warm, and easy to wear, and great for layering with other fragrances.

One for one dupe of Nest’s Madagascar Vanilla, only dare I say better, as I find it to last even longer. This is a beautiful salty, musky non-gourmand vanilla. Cozy on its own, but also very nice for layering.

I don’t usually love coconut but this isn’t too much for me. I like this a lot. And it does smell like nest. I love to pair this with the santal and cardamom oil from this company.

*Tries a perfume named Vanilla Musk* *Dislikes the musk* *Shocked Pikachu face* This seems to be the most popular of all the Sand + Fog perfumes, so I went to three different Marshalls looking for it. Everyone raves about it, but I'm so glad I didn't blind buy it from SAND + Fog's website, because I ended up not liking it at all. It's very light and almost floral, and as I joked above, it turns out that I really dislike the musk in it. The vanilla runs cooler and not sweet at all. It's also very weak. I ran the rollerball all over my wrist (probably a 2"x2" square) and still could only smell it with my wrist held right up to my nose. Unfortunately it's a pass for me, but more for the rest of you who love it! All of Sand + Fog's perfumes seem pretty weak to me, I haven't found a single one that projects at all. I keep trying new scents as I find them in though, hoping I'll eventually find one I like.

I have no idea what's wrong with my nose for picking up what I'm picking up but i genuinely mostly just get musk, anis and amber with a faint background of vanilla. It somehow smells very "perfumey" to me like something my 55 y/o mother would wear or her friends. It's not bad I just wouldn't qualify it as a vanilla perfume but more like a skin scent but still perfumey perfume. It's most probably just my nose but I think something like innocence, even if more faint smells way better to me.

I love Sand + Fog, this one is exactly like the name says 50% vanilla + 50% musk and that’s it. Now I’m a musk hater so this isn’t for me but the lasting power and projection is def there. I wish I wasn’t so sensitive to musk bc I think this is a really good one specially if you’re a vanilla lover.

Excellent dupe for Nest Madagascar Vanilla. It’s great, however it only lasts 1-2 hours on my skin. Otherwise very reasonable scent!
