Palindrome III

Boozy rose and apricot, gorgeous blend, suited for the colder months. It's sweet but not overly so. It reminds me of Tuscany landscape somehow, very sfumato fragrance 🙂

Starts bad, but after several minutes I start imagining candelabras and night gowns. Lush, mature fruity-leathery scent, a hint of herbal bitterness and sweet liquor, a fine suede, bright and dark in equal measures, to be worn throughout every season. An amazing contrast. The brand's page states that "two radically different osmanthus absolutes" were used for this interplay as both directions of the palindrome. As with Mark Buxton's Spritual Healing, I find the opposition of juicy fruitiness and animatic notes extremely cathartic, as if a long suppressed fragility was finally revealed from a heart of darkness. There's also a familiar combo of rose, artemisia and patchouli, giving that floral-green-herbal-earthy circle a spin, but the main player is of course this strange and transgressive flower - non flower - osmanthus, crossing the border between flora and fauna, mixing memories from different parts of our brain library, linking feelings we thought unlinkable, hence letting go of a certain cognitive dissonance that burdened us: the peach I ate as a child one summer, and the dark ballad I listened to as a teenager.

Sweet juicy-liscious osmanthus roses.. Very juicy osmanthus X roses that almost gone fruitti. I can detect plums in here and i believe it's the flavor of the rum maybe! with an extra rose sweetness. Also, i can detect a touch of mandarin. The roses used are Bulgarian cause the Bulgarian roses has that light sweet note within unlike the Turkish that is lusciously sweet, & thank GOD they didn't use the Turkish in this blend cause it would've turned super cloying unlike now being quite balanced. I can also detect artimisia but def no patchouli at least till 20 minutes in. This blend is for those who enjoys sweet luscious blends. Nice.
