Pastel Rumours

I sampled "Peach's Revenge | Sarah Baker Perfumes" a while back and really loved it, but after reading reviews I decided to sample "Pastel Rumours | Sarah Baker Perfumes" and "Rococo Pie | Sarah Baker Perfumes", along with "Peach Macaron | Theodoros Kalotinis". The idea was to only purchase the one I loved the most. "Rococo Pie | Sarah Baker Perfumes" was the only I really disliked "Pastel Rumours | Sarah Baker Perfumes" is a gorgeous, creamy, candy, peach/vanilla yogurt fragrance. Im really glad I can’t smell the cardamom in this. It does smell quite similar to "Peach's Revenge | Sarah Baker Perfumes", although I think this is the more versatile, safe, mass appealing, easier to wear option. I love it! This is the one I’d probably get the most wear out of. "Peach's Revenge | Sarah Baker Perfumes" is memorable and made a lasting impression on me. It’s a gorgeous, more unique and complex candied Peach, Guava, vanilla and cinnamon/amaretto scent. I do sometimes get a bit of a mustiness in the dry down, which I guess is the peach/cinnamon combo, but due to this I do have to be in the mood to wear it. I was really captivated by the Guava note though, which is 10/10 to die for! It gives the scent that little something special and made it a real struggle to decide which one I liked more. I love Peach's Revenge for its uniqueness, and it lasts the longest, but I honestly couldn’t decide. "Peach Macaron | Theodoros Kalotinis" is ok, but my least favourite. It’s similar to "Pastel Rumours | Sarah Baker Perfumes", but I feel Pastel Rumours is higher quality. I didn’t find Peach Macaroon particularly unique and actually thought it was a bit harsh and screechy. The longevity on me is also poor, so this was a definite no. Conclusion - Both "Pastel Rumours | Sarah Baker Perfumes" and "Peach's Revenge | Sarah Baker Perfumes" are stunning scents and absolute loves! They are both high quality, project and are long lasting. If you have one, you really don’t need the other. I just couldn’t choose a favourite between them and had to have them both. I’ve even been layering them. Out of my full collection these are my current favourite scents!

You smell like someone who gives fantastic hugs and wears the softest Comfort Colors shirts. You might play ukulele or lead a small youth group at church and you're the camp counselor everyone hopes they get. You're the new girl next door in a 2000s flick. It's definitely pre-COVID and everyone wants to be your friend. I want Pastel Rumors to get the love it deserves. For the record, I haven't smelled the other Sarah Baker peach fragrances. When it opens, it's super peachy and super custardy. I totally get the cereal vibes, but it's not in a wheaty sort of way. More like just the peach colored fruit loops lol. I could see it being too sweet and lactonic for some folks but for me, the nostalgic, childhood joy it brings is just so addictive. Some reviews say it's more of a synthetic peach--I'd counter that it still has a pretty juicy quality to it, but I can see an almost plasticky undertone. It's subtle and not bad, though. Adds to the nostalgia for me. Also, those who might feel offended by how sweet it is at opening might appreciate it more a the dry-down. All the notes are still there for me, but what some might call a sticky sweetness has calmed down to something cozier and more mellow. The musk, cardamom, and ginger starts to peek out and harmonize with the custard. Now you're having a sneaky sweet treat in bed.

This is exactly the peach perfume I was after. When I was 12/13 years old, Bottega Verde had this cheap peach perfume that was my favourite. I wore it every day, and I have been looking for a replacement ever since. I’ve tried so many, and it’s been really hard to find a peach perfume that cantered the peach note. Many didn’t smell good on me, or they would dry down and the smell of peach would disappear completely. This is a young, fun, smelling peach. Long lasting as well, it stays the whole day and you can smell the peach from the moment you spray it. It reminds me of youth, fun, peach tart summers. Peaches Revenge is very boozy in comparison, while this is all about sweet notes. I thought it was expensive when I first bought it, however a little goes a long way and the price is totally justified. I was wearing it for my birthday and the waitress told me “you smell edible, in the best possible way! So good!” And I got complimented a lot when I wear it. Definitely one of my fav, and finally the peach I was looking for.

Can't explain in words how much I love this stuff! Pastel Rumours is definitely a derivative of Peach's Revenge. If you substract peach from latter and replace it with milky cereal bowl note, add some fuzzy citrusy sunshine (just a dash), toss in the whipped cream and some caramelized sugar, you'll get the Rumours. It's fantastic in its own way. I prefer Rumours opening to the Peach, yet the mid notes of Rococo Pie with the prominent almost yuzu-like citrusy heart catches my attention more. One thing I know for sure is I need bigger sizes of these sold separately as I can't choose which one I love most. I feel like Pie will do better in summer being citrusy and everything, while Revenge is totally a spring fragrance for me. Rumors shines well now in somewhat cold winter we are having now. I'm torn and happy at the same time. Sarah Baker was always a brand to watch out for amongst niche fragrance houses and they didn't disappoint with any scents from the Trilogy.

I'm surprised how many people think the peach trilogy fragrances smell the same. Yes they are all centred around that gorgeous peach note but that's the end of the similarity for me. I struggle to pick a favourite but I think it's this one. It's a fragrance that makes me smile with every spray. Definitely getting peachy fruit loops and sweet milk. It's bright, full of sugar and utterly delicious. My only complaint is that on my skin it really doesn't last past 2-3 hours. And it's quite pricey so I don't want to overspray! That said I will always have a bottle of this in my collection- for times I need a little joy
