Honeysuckle Middle Note

It's the time of year that honeysuckle blooms and the air smells like heaven's perfume! I have tried countless fragrances, but finding a good honeysuckle scent is extremely difficult. Thanks to TaleOfTheRose, I've experienced the holy grail. Natural honeysuckle absolute is rarer than rare. The yield is so low that the prohibitive expense of growing, harvesting, and extraction makes it almost impossible. A tiny few have made their own enfleurage, but the yield is too small except for the most limited use. What is used in commercial perfumes is usually part natural essences of other flowers, and part synthetic creations. Or all chemical. Unfortunately, even with the best perfumes, the pseudo-honeysuckle aroma usually degrades. Or didn't quite smell like honeysuckle to begin with. Sarah Horowitz has created a flawless honeysuckle in her Perfumer's Pallete soliflore. HMN has no chemical taste, no deterioration into a different flower, no flaws to hide under superfluous notes. It's natural, fresh, and realistic. The smell of real honeysuckle blossom! Doesn't get better than this except on the vine!

One of a very small number of full bottles I own. Smells real, fresh, and refreshing. There is a similarity to Jasmin 17 but lasts longer, has a more projection, and is absent any unpleasant grape juice opening. Easy to wear alone or layered and is sophisticated in its lack of perfumey-ness. I don't gravitate toward florals but this is such a nice alternative to all the usual suspects of citrus or apple for summertime. Perfect for a warm or hot day.

The BEST soliflore honeysuckle out there imho.. I have tried so many... This is the closest without being synthetic like Demeter and Dame's honeysuckle or smelling like white flowers (Annick Goutal Le Chevrefeuille). It is supposed to be layered with other perfumes so don't expect a drydown.
