Covet Pure Bloom

Covet Pure Bloom is another bargain gem from SJP's perfume line - perhaps the best celebrity perfume line of all. While I was disappointed by the original Covet - an ambitious, creative idea that fell flat in reality - this flanker does not resemble the original at all. While CPB is a safer, more run-of-the-mill composition, it is beautifully put-together and doesn't run out of steam as it develops, particularly remarkable given its price point. I also love the distinctive, pretty bottle design. I can't speak to the reformulation - my bottle is from 2022 and is really lovely in my opinion. A very chic colleague wears this - the closest thing to an Olsen twin I've come across - and it suits her bohemian style to a tee. CPB is a sweet, slightly tropical floral-fruity - not generally my preferred scent profile, but this is beautiful. It has a fruity opening - sweet orange, followed by juicy plum. Lactonic white florals follow closely. A clean, sweet tuberose note is most evident, and just the right amount of coconut adds its distinctive tropical milkiness, tying it all together nicely. The plum-tuberose accord is reminiscent of Dior Poison, albeit much more muted and tropical. As it develops, the florals become more powdery with clean jasmine emerging. Soft woody notes ground it, and clean musk blurs the edges as it fades. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is an ageless spring/summer feminine scent. One of the nicest tropical scents I've tried, I love CPB and find it addictive at this time of year. It isn't a full-on suntan lotion scent loaded with vanilla, coconut and ylang ylang - instead it is a much more nuanced, elegant floral scent that is more versatile as a result. Beautifully blended throughout, it smells much more expensive than it is. Low-key excellence. 4.5/5.

First of all, this has nothing to do with the original Covet, which i ADORE. But this one has its own beauty. I read around that this one is more focused on the masses, since the first one was not the stereotypical celebrity scent and didn't sell as much as expected. Although i love the first one, i believe that to be true, cause the first one is really different, while this one is rather safe. What i mostly feel is creamy tuberose. A beautiful sweetness coming from the white flowers, with (what i believe to be) the coconut (probably mixed with the sandalwood) giving this creamy feeling. Not a strong vanillic coconut, but a light creamy one, standing in the background. I don't get the plum. Honestly, i don't get the plum in any fragrance that says that has plum, so i probably don't know what plum must smell in a fragrance (cause certainly don't smell like the fruit itself). I don't get any fruitiness, actually, but i think the coconut and the mandarin give a bright feeling to it. Is a round shape. The feeling is round. Not a sharp one. Not a 'blade' fragrance, that stings. Is almost reachable with its creaminess. Like the mix of tuberose tea with coconut milk, till it turns into a nice lotion-texture cream. Bright, but with the potential of turning into a choke monster if applied heavily in hot days. Anyway, i totally recommend this one as a nice, flowery everyday scent. Feminine, simple, bright, delicate, laid back.

This fragrance is like a beautiful summer night. The warm breeze is filled with gorgeous fragrance of flowers. The stars are shinning and reflecting in the calm waters of the tropical bay. There is romance and love in the air. There is something about plum in the fragrances that I absolutely love. The opening of this perfume is so delicious. I love how the plum, coconut and mandarin come together. It is not too fruity, not too fresh – just a perfect blend that I would like to smell over and over again. The tuberose and jasmine slowly make their way through as the heart notes. I love tuberose in the perfume. It is well balanced by jasmine and other notes. This beautiful floral summer night smell lasted about 1.5 hours and then it started disappearing. I thought, oh well I guess this is it. But I was wrong. The fragrance continued evolving into another stage on my skin. It went into very soft and gentle form of floral musk. It was not strong or very pronounced but it was there. I could feel it all day. I have to confess that I was a bit skeptic about trying another celebrity fragrance but I have to give credit to this perfume. I do love it from the beginning till the end. It is lovely, romantic and classy to wear.

I actually can't believe that I've never written a review for this before! It's such a lovely, beautiful scent. It's not overly strong or anything, but it does leave an impression. It's one of those soft, airy fairy fragrances that people notice and say 'oh, gosh, don't you smell lovely?' about, not really rushing to the store to pick up. I would, but that's because I rush to buy most fragrances I like when I have the disposable income to do so. That being said, I'm really glad I have this. It's a clear, refreshing white floral with just enough base notes to keep it afloat. It smells a bit synthetic, but not in an unpleasant way. Feels a bit tropical due to the coconut and plum. Can't quite work out if I prefer this during the day or night. I'm a major night owl, so half of the fragrances I wear are worn after 11pm. It usually lasts 6 hours or more usually. I recieved it from a friend who I talked to a lot just before we went for a little look in the Chanel boutique with a few other lovely gifts. One of which I passed along, regrettably.

Absolutely amazing! Purposely signed up to fragrantica to review this absolute beauty! I've worked in a perfume store for a year now. Most celeb fragrances are a no no for our customers - sometimes poor quality using celeb endorsements for the selling point. But we've just got this in today after never having it in before at £19.99! I've always hated Covet. Too strong with early smells, doesnt scream femininity to me as a fragrance sometimes should, but this creamy liquid does the job. As it opens a beautiful combination of creamy coconut and soft flowers - combining together to make a soft blend of 'lotion-esque' goodness. It stays pretty constant with the scent, just gets creamier as it wears on. And it wears on for hours! Very very surprised for such a high-quality celeb fragrance! Not much else to say i'm afraid - my first review! But I have to recommend this to anyone into nice, warm, yet soft scents. Perfect value, reliable and perfect for spring or summer days or nights!

Pleasant and nice - I like it just as much I like floral green Covet. It is slightly fruitier than predescessor, also more powdery and girly. I find it a safe fragrance, good for a day in the office or a shopping day. I think both Covets are great if you've just started a day with a nice cool shower and hesitate what to wear on the day. Inoffensive, will not make poeple around you open the windows or pretend to be in rush to walk away from you as far as possible. I am convinced, by reading both Covets reviews, that ocassionaly some Fragrantica members criticize these fragrances purely because they are not very fond of Sarah Jessica Parker as a person and they are incapable to raise above likes and dislikes of Sarah who only signs the contracts and has nothing to do with the final perfume formulation. Covets have been created by renowned noses who did, indeed, do a great job and deserve at least a bit of praise if not a great recognition for making our perfume market richer.

Covet Pure Bloom smells almost good enough to eat! Generally I don't like fruity florals but this one is a perfect balance, I love the plum, and the coconut is to die for. Quite delicious! The floral is delightful, big tuberose in the top and lovely delicate jasmine, retaining the coconut to keep it sweet , and the base is perfect. Covet Pure Bloom is one of those rare perfumes that I can actually detect each individual note, all present and very correct. I have been wearing it today (Spring has arrived!! YAY!) and its lasted for 10 hours so far!! That's spectacular considering the price. The sillage is still good too, even after all this time. Covet Pure Bloom is a firm favourite with me. Awesome stuff :-)

Covet Pure Bloom by Sarah Jessica Parker is a creamy green blend of tuberose and jasmine with a sweet dose of plum, all smoothed out by a gentle musk and the slightest hint of coconut and mandarin. This is a really lovely fresh floral fragrance and it does have a bit of that shampoo vibe to is, but it is still really nice. Tuberose is the “life of the party” with the way it dominates this fragrance with its big personality. The jasmine sings backup without being too screechy and just the right amount of fruity plum sneaking in. I think this is an amazing celebrity scent, easily one of my favorites (can’t believe it got discontinued) so I will definitely give SJP a round of applause for this one! Great job!

I've ordered this perfume online, because i couldn't find it anywhere, and was very curious about it.Because i like the style that SJP has and her favourite perfumes are touching my smell tastes as well. I should say that it didn't come out as I expected. It's way too sweet in the first place, but thank god the sweetness goes away quickly. It's more like a grape syrup than plum.But the musk is very long lasting. It can be used as a daily perfume. Because it has nothing special, unfortunately.Actually it reminded me of the old times mommy perfumes.But i believe i will be able to use it daily since i bought it very cheap.

I had a sample of this at the shop yesterday, it's such a lovely soft fragrance that I like!! I really want to get it! It has a distinct floral scent to it. Personally I think that it smells a lot like jasmine, which I'm not usually a fan of, however I really liked it in this perfume. I think its more floral than fruity, and is quite fresh.. The price is great; it's not expensive at all. The bottle is so cute, and I like it much better than the the original fragrance. Overall I think it's great for the price and the quality. Great for young to older women who want something light fresh and fun :) 3.5/5

LOVE! Finally I scored a bottle of this. I have been looking forever but it's outrageously priced online! I wish I had gotten a larger bottle as I can already tell this is going to be a fave scent. The tuberose is wonderful but very clean Laid with the powdery scent. A totally different variation of "Covet" nothing like the original. Pure bloom is a appropriate name. I love this. Makes me feel like it's a classy higher end fragrance. Worth the higher price it demands. I do love that about SJP fragrances they're usually higher quality feeling and lasting.

Oh My Gosh - what a beautiful perfume! I bought it blindly because of your nice comments, and yes, you were right, it is absolutely wonderful! And yes, it smells kinda Poison of Dior, but I think this is even better, it's lighter, and more fruity without any sourness, and it's perfeckt blended with the flowers, if you like Poison, you can afford to buy 2 bottles, because this magic water is so "lovely" and you will need them both ... :D And of cause, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous!!!

I don't know Covet, but Covert pure bloom is divine for me. It's sparkling, violet-pink floral which can attract all insects because you smell like real garden. I could give it 9/10, but lasting power and sillage are not too good. Maybe she could make it more intense, it could be my best summer fragrance. Update : I have Covet, which is sooo different than Pure Bloom. Why is it a flanker then? While I like Pure Bloom, I hate Covet, as it reminds me of some lemon tart. Brrrrrrr

This is a extremely floral scent! I can smell a lot of bamboo, lavender and sandalwood as well as the floral notes mentioned. In my opinion it is better than what it looks like in the pyramid. It is very citrus but with something sweet. This starts off as a floral scent and fades into a citrus sort of sandalwood with a bit of bamboo. Then it goes sour, sweet and strong fruity. The sillage is huge within about 2 metres and I think it would be at the top of my "I want" list:)

Seriously, i love this scent. I receive a lot of compliments when i wear this and man, my guy could not stop sniffing me when i wear this. ;D I agree with some of the comments here saying that it smells like grape juice, but it is not in a bad way. The beautiful floral comes in during the dry down which takes about 15 minutes and the scent last all day on my skin. The sillage is also pretty good as people around me always notice the scent. Beautiful work after Lovely.

Well this one is way better !!!!! than the original covet which I find ghastly. This one is soft but I can really smell the coconut I think this is what puts me off about it. It reminds me of a cupcake in preference to a perfume. Fabulous bottle though Sarah knows how to package her fragrances but the one of hers I love is SJP NYC that is by far her best one. I don't hate this one by any means I just find it a little too sickly sweet for me.

I agree with APassionateJourney. I don't smell plum but I do smell grape. It doesn't have great staying power, but the second application seems to last longer than the first. It has a pleasing floral bouquet without any peppery overtones (like Jessica McClintock) or heavy oily base notes (like Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia). This one's a keeper in my book.

I love this scent, it's sweet, a little powdery yet fresh enough for a summer night - maybe a bit strong for full on humidity and sunshine though. It also lasts really well on me, I can still smell it at the end of the day and it stays on clothing too. I think it's very nice for the price point.

Probably my signature scent, or at least it was. The perfume is amazing the bottle is adorable. The scent can be a little more mature and doesn't feel as sweet as it could be but definitely is amazing. Perfect beginner perfume and very budget friendly like most SJP perfumes.

This does not last 5 minutes and it gives me a thuming headache. It reminds me of Eclat Arpege and the chloe one in the pink and white lid bottle. It is nice but every time I wear it I get a headache and have to respray just to smell it. I did get compliments when I wore it.

Gorgeous fruity floral. I prefer this to the original Covet as it is happier, more wearable and approachable, in my opinion. I wear it year-round but Pure Bloom is a scent that performs exceedingly well on spring & summer days. It smells very "purple" to me - a big plus!

I tried this perfume for the first time yesterday, and as soon as it was on me, people started complimenting the smell! The smell is so soft and flowery that it would be appropriate for everyday-wear. Even in the office full of sensitive noses!!

This perfume belongs to the fragrance family of Sensi - Cacharel Catch me- Covet Pure Bloom and Hugo XX A very warm family it is! Covet puts more emphasis on the tropical aspect compared to the other 3!

I like it a lot on me. It works well in extremely hot and humid 90% weather, it is delicate and not cloying , i don't feel the plum, just get the freshness of the flowers without the sweetness.

@Delila, you should check if your bottle is still good, of if the juicy is authentic, cause even with a light fixation, the projection for the first moments is really big.

I like this scent. It is very light and I feel is better suited for warmer weather. This does not last very long on me, but it makes me feel tropical and girly. Nice!

I absolutely love this perfume. Although the aromas should be fruity & floral I get none of the fruity side of it. It lasts on for a long time.

Classy and sexy. I am so sad this has been discontinued. I just purchased two 100ml bottles I am using one (slowly) and saving the other one.

Simply love it, for me it is better and more unique than the original Covet. It is light but yet warm, gives velvety and luxurious feeling.

Plum, tuberose, coconut and jasmine with the hint of amber! My aunt and my grandmother loves that fragrance!

I saw this discounted, due to damaged gift set packaging, to only £7.99 for 100ml. I'm so glad that I bought it! I love it! It's easily the cheapest fragrance in my collection, indeed, I don't think it smells or looks any more than £40, but I would recommend picking it up at the bargain prices I've seen it at. The bottle is pretty but the top is a bit gaudy with its chunky plastic design. I remember people wearing the top as a necklace when these perfumes were first released. I clearly smell all of the top notes listed, with the mandarin, tuberose and coconut the ones that standout for me. The drydown is a warm, ambery musk. It has decent, but not overpowering projection and lasts all day for me, which is perfect. I remember trying the original Covet and loving that too when it first appeared, but I've never owned a bottle. I think I might check that out too, although I should probably speed up because I think it might be discontinued. Edit July 2023 I bought covet, what a strange fragrance... I have about 5ml left of Covet pure bloom, it is very shampooey and a little laundry musky, having tried hundreds more fragrances, this is now just a mild like. Won't repurchase.

I think this is easily SJP’s most synthetic smelling fragrance. It’s very strong, very sweeeeeet and has an almost disinfectant aftersmell to it. It is nice, it’s certainly no ‘NYC’ or ‘Stash’ but it’s still a nice enough fragrance. I bought it because I wanted to collect all of the SJP frags, and I’m happy I have it in my collection although I don’t know how often I’m going to be wearing it, I feel that it’s not quite my personality. I smell grape grape grape, extremely sugary sweetened grape, however, a colleague of mine was standing next to me and he said that I smelt so strongly of cocoa butter, lol, so I guess it’s a rather diverse scent that people tend to smell differently. Bottle is nice, it felt like I was holding an apple, the soft glass feels satisfying in your hand. The lid was bizarre though, it’s more of a stopper that doesn’t quite work properly, as opposed to a proper lid. I get the concept but if you’re like me and throw your frags in your bag, it wasn’t that user friendly. Nice and affordable, longevity and sillage is excellent for the price. I’d give it a 6/10.

covet bloom summer test two sprays inner elbow i agree with the accords listed for the beginning of this scent, the middle is a bit bland and ordinary, except in its end Bloom goes dry and lavendery to me. which is fine, but i feel like the accords listed are what this scent does up front. the back is different. my test yesterday was: intriging fruit - a floral, sort of sparkly, nice, non sweet, a little green aramoatic sih floral aroma, lavender and dryness towards the end/base notes. i dont recall these exact changes today - but i had tested other scents also. i do recall thinking do i want to smell like this all over?? here we go; if you know love by chloe or prada d'iris - the floral dryness these have; Covet Bloom has to a lesser degree. A nice scent in its won right, which might benefit from layering. I dont think the accords really convey the smell. Listed accords suggest a fruitier juicier scent (which doesnt bother me here nor there). logevity fine - 5 hours id say sillage, not massive, prob less then arms length non offensive

The perfume reminds me of Couture Couture by Juicy Couture. There are similar ingredients to some of Juicy's fragrances: plum, orris root, jasmine, tuberose, musk. Covet Pure Bloom isn't similar to Covet: Covet is sophisticated, wild, niche-like, Pure Bloom is a different type: quieter, but not quiet, less thick. The beginning with plum and iris root reminds me of Couture Couture a lot, but then jasmine and tuberose come into play - they bloom- and then the fragrance reminds me of Alien a bit. There was a moment that I could sniff lily-of-the-valley, it isn't listed among ingredients though. The fragrance is like a small cloud above my skin. And it isn't nice and kind - it's a rebel. Unfortunately I don't get coconut in this. It's a well created smell, but it lacks orginality of green Covet - green one is a fragrance that doesn't bring other fragrances to my mind. Bottle is great, lasting power is very good on me.

Wow! I totally forgot how much I used to LOVE this! My daughter moved home for the summer today & I found this sitting on her dressing table. She had brought a few different scents back with her & Covet Pure Bloom was one of them. The bottle is so pretty & perfect for Spring time, as is the scent itself. It is a lighter white floral, so if you have steared clear of white florals or tuberose before, this would be a perfect place to start. It is warm, inviting & floral with a slightly beachy feel to it, but nothing like all of the beachy Escada flankers. It is more elegant & lady like...just like Sara Jessica herself in my opinion. This would be so pretty to wear to a special event. It is soft, comforting & just a beautiful scent. It reminds me a lot of Prince Matchibelli's (sp? New Musk. If you like that, you will probably enjoy this. Cheers! :)

Again, I'm on the fence with a recent purchase. As others have stated Covet Pure Bloom begins on beautiful fruity floral notes of plum, coconut, tuberose, and jasmine in the heart notes. While I enjoyed the first hour of the fragrance, it did turn a little weird on me. It began to get a bit soapy, sort of like Camay soap, then there's a something ever so slightly animalistic to it--could it be the orris root?? I dunno, because I usually enjoy orris root. It's not completely unpleasant, but takes some getting used to. It is different, so I guess that's why I'm somewhat entranced. There's also this sweet and sour ambiance to the fragrance throughout the day. Kind of reminds me of a Sour Patch Kid gummy candy. I suppose I like it more than I hate it and will likely grow to love it the more I wear it. Overall rating 7 out of 10.

As sister fragrance to first Sarah's Covet, Covet Pure Bloom has a different personality. The original Covet is heavy, ambery, and modern-classic, whereas Pure Bloom is tender, soft, and romantic. I particularly like the coconut combined in this perfume, it’s not that creamy as in some of the oriental-vanilla perfumes, the amount is just well-balanced against the fruits and flowers. The tuberose and jasmine smells sensual. What is lovely is that those little white flowers don’t show themselves in a linear continuous way, instead, there is a cheerful variation (music) of fruits, coconut and flowers, so interesting and romantic. Smelling it, seems that I’m walking bare foot on the white sand Hawaii beach. A cap of flowers on my head, and the torrid colorful sunlight on my face......

This is another delightful fragrance from SJP. It isn’t very original, but I prefer it to other, more high end fruity floral fragrances I have such as Armani Si Passioni. The initial scent is too fruitily sweet for my taste, but it softens into a smooth, creamy floral very quickly. This isn’t a loud show off, and it is nothing like the original Covet. Covet Pure Bloom is worth having in your perfume wardrobe if you enjoy subtle florals, and it can still be purchased for around $20 in some places. I think it would make a little girl very happy to receive Covet Pure Bloom as a gift. The pretty lilac daisy bottle might just start her on her lifetime fragrance journey. Now isn’t that a worthwhile gift to give.

I don’t like the original Covet so overlooked this one for a long time. I keep hearing good things about it so purchased a bottle of my own. I can definitely smell the violet and when it settles down you notice the tuberose a lot. It does have a fruity tropical element to it which sits alongside the heady tuberose. I like it even though I’m not a huge tuberose fan and it’s good value at a reasonably price point. I can’t really agree with the grape koolaid / intense plum comments; to me I can detect it but if I was recommending or thinking of a grape koolaidvor plum perfume this wouldn’t cross my mind as it’s a weaker note. I can see the similarities however to Juicy Coutures original fragrance.

I agree that it has a grape-candy smell, and that it, along with the tuberose, dominates this scent. But I like it. I agree too that it's a good everyday, casual fragrance for warm weather. I got this bottle in a swap, and while I'm glad I didn't buy it, I'll definitely use it. I also agree that it's sexy. Wanda Sykes has this hilarious bit where she says that the time she felt the sexiest was when she was 26. And when she goes to a bar and has a few drinks, she goes to the bathroom and looks in the mirror, and she starts feeling sexy, feeling 26. That's kind of what Covet Pure Bloom does for me (age 38). Oh, and I don't smell coconut at all.

My mom have this. Literally speaking, it really smells fruity and resembles some kind of a dessert. It was very sweet and fruity. The top notes are a little bit sour but the drydown was good. The plum note was intensive and it also resembles some kind of grapes, at first I thought that it was violet petals/leaves. Tuberose and Jasmine can also be sensed. A quite good fragrance, the flacon really represents the notes(purple- pinkish glass). It smells like the the 90's but in a great way! A frag for the young adult ages. It smells/tastes a bit of grape candy. Flacon: 8/10 Floral: 40% Fruity: 45% Sweet: 5% Overall rating for me: 7/10

This on me is a very light fragrance. It's fresh in a flowery, neutral kind of way, with not enough intensity to report any more detail than that. The primary scent is the same as Al Rehab's Sabaya, though that one is vastly more intense and more chemical-smelling. Covet Bloom is extremely light and approachable by comparison. So I'm very puzzled by others labelling it as a powerhouse that should be used lightly, because I find that I really can't spray enough to render it properly detectable! Also its longevity is very poor, though it's hard to be precise about this given how light it is at the start of its journey.

This one continues to be interesting for me. I've owned it for several years and come close to passing it on multiple times but just can't bring myself to do so. Whether this is because I want to be as complete in my SJP collection as possible, or I actually like it. I think it's much more the latter as I gave away NYC due to finding it putrid. "Milky tuberose shampoo" covers this really well... it's not the best SJP scent, but it's still really good for the price point and is surprisingly unique, albeit not as unique as the original Covet.

This opens basically all plum. Plum never goes away, but it takes a step back to reveal a greenish tuberose, watery coconut and earthy orris. I don't find the tuberose in this particularly heavy, but I am a fan of such tuberose monsters as Tubereuse Animale. Overall I find this sweet, joyful and pretty but still slightly reserved. I think i would be a nice transitional fragrance for an older teen girl. I feel like I'd wear this fragrance with dresses, but sensible shoes. I don't get the glamour vibe SJP is going for in the ad.

I read on SJP offical fragrance site about this. The notes sounded so beautiful and interesting, that I just had to try it. The bottle is very beautiful with a flower as a cap. Very strong, feminin and floral. Almost too much, so one spray will be enought. I can only smell plum and the floral notes. I wanted to smell the coconut and the rest. Its like a version of midnight fantasy, exsept this is stronger and moore floral. I think its to much, its way too strong. Its not bad, I have to say its good, just not for me;)

The opening gives me some rosabotanica vibes, i get a little of that somehow honey-like floral scent - not a fan of that at all. But it only lasts a few minutes and mellows out very nicely. After the initial synthetic maybe even a little sharp opening its super lovely, soft shampooey delight, it really is a light purple scent! I only get the tuberose, perfectly done, its light, not indolic just a tad bubblegummy. Great for all ages, lighthearted but still elegant, very office friendly, signature worthy.
