L’Amour Libertin Eshqh-e-Aazaad

L’Amour Libertin is the perfect warm spicy tobacco, ambery, vanilla fall fragrance with a pinch of lavender and ginger. A more nuanced and complex scent that it’s in the same olfactory family with let’s say Burberry Goddess. L’Amour Libertin does not smell like Goddess so don’t get this thinking you’re getting an inspired version of Burberry. It gives me the same vibe, a more complex warm, sweet but not too sweet vanilla with ginger and lavender, but L’Amour Libertin has a boozy note, rum, has tobacco, incense and saffron compared to Goddess. I love Goddess but to my nose, this juice is much more interesting and unique than your typical vanilla lavender perfume. A niche, veiled creation that smells really delectable. The poppy and pepper notes are the least noticeable to my nose from the entire pyramid structure. I know for sure that I smelled poppies last summer and they didn’t had any noticeable smell to my nose, so I don’t know what to make of fragrances which contain poppies...Does this flower really brings anything to the overall smell??! Probably not, but who knows.!?!?.. It’s a shame that such a beautiful gourmand perfume doesn’t come with great longevity and sillage. It would be a bomb! Going through the discovery kit, I have noticed that some of Sasva’s perfumes have better performance than others. This one feels more on the moderate side and it’s quite pricey for such a lamentable performance.

#1542 in my "Tour de Fragrance" To my nose this would fit into the "Bentley for Men" lineup, which I consider some of the better bargains in masculine-leaning amber-rum-vanilla scents. It's a moderate performing scent (makes it to lunch, not quite arm's length silage). Jomashop carried this scent for $45 but they don't seem to be restocking. Bentley "For Men" ( EDT) goes for $25 and Bentley "For Men Intense" (EDP) at $35. Both very nearly identical to this and widely available. This scent is versatile for any use anywhere, but I'm seeing it online for $170, which is less than the more niche stuff like this, such as Kilian "Straight to Heaven", Les Indemodables "Vanille Havane", Argos "Triumph of Bacchus", but more than 3X the cost of the Bentley. The middling quality of this Sasva scent just does not merit that differential in price. But if you find this for under $50, go for it.

This perfume is quite pleasant, but weak, it dramatically lacks longevity. I had to resell it. I liked a spicy incense vibe that reminded me of the powerhouse Royal Incense from Omanluxury. At first I thought it could be a casual version of RI, but it faded away so quickly... I was disappointed.

I have a very conflicting opinion about this perfume, because it tends to go in many directions: on the one hand, the smell of incense makes you feel like you're in a church, and on the other, there's a smell of burnt wood that would make me think of a campfire in the forest (probably from the oud or tobacco). For a period of time it smells dry and you can also feel some bitter and green notes, but in the drydown a discreet sweetness appears, probably from vanilla and benzoin. I couldn't identify all the spicy, rum and leather notes, and for me it remained a woody perfume with incense and something burning.
