Shanthi

I have bought the discovery set from Sasva mostly to sample Shanthi because it got so much hype during the summer of 2024 when social media influencers were talking about amazing mango scents. Basically the 2024 version of Carioca Heart... And it’s delicious, a gorgeous tropical fruity scent, a mix of creamy, sweet mango with strong pineapple nuances, rich amberwood, vague marine facets and warmth up by labdanum. Can’t say anything about patchouli, don’t get it here. Makes me think instantly of Paula’s Ibiza Cosmic by Loewe, another wonderful mango centric perfume, with obvious twists. Not a dupe of that, just in the same olfactive family. So, is it worth the hype? As first impression, I would say yes. It’s undeniably beautiful! I would like it to be even more concentrated and project better but otherwise it’s long lasting so nothing to complain about... I would say it’s fairly priced for the quality of the juice and how it performs. Two thumbs up from me.. In my opinion Shanthi leans more feminine, it has that sweet fruitiness that I associate more with women perfumes... Seasons to wear Shanthi would be spring, fall any time, plus summer nights. It could be potentially too sweet for some during hot&humid summer days. It’s not a weak fragrance by any means, don’t let the previous comment deter you from trying it! Delicious scent though... Update: at seven hours mark, it’s already a skin scent. I decided to get a bottle of this. It’s a very interesting mango/pineapple scent.

This is lovely! I can see the resemblance with Jusbox, Carioca Heart but this one is much more interesting with the mint. A true gem that I'm going to rock alot this spring and summer.

When I tested this last October, I wasn’t sure of this. I usually prefer sweet feminine fragrances and steer away from unisex scents. While I liked this, there was something harsh about it I didn’t enjoy and just couldn’t see myself wearing it. I also felt it was a little masculine for me, however I went on the initial spray and scrubbed it off. Fast forward to now... it’s summer and it’s hot. This scent is absolutely perfect for high heat. On skin, the initial opening I felt was too much for me melts away into this beautiful, uplifting, light, refreshing scent. I smell the mint, mango, pineapple and Labdanum. I absolutely love the mint and mango mix. This makes this a perfect choice for hot weather. I don’t usually like Labdanum either, but in this scent it gives the fragrance an oceanic type of vibe without it being too heavily aquatic. To me this conjures up a picture of sitting by the sea in the Maldives, meditating at some posh, fancy yoga retreat. There’s incense burning, the waves are rolling, there’s a table nearby with a spread of freshly sliced, juicy sweet mango’s and pineapples, and jugs of icy water laced with fresh mint and cucumber. I don’t know what it is about this scent, but I now find it incredibly addictive, calming and relaxing! It’s absolutely stunning and easily a new summer fav!

Shanti is a Sanskrit word for inner peace. The Mantra Om Shanti means peace in mind, speech and body. If we could all be truly at peace and bring peace into our lives, our energy could travel to other people in this way, becoming contagious. And that is how this fragrance wants to be: a blend of fresh fruit, with aquatic notes that make it soft and relaxing, enjoyable. It cheers the soul and I am sure that, with its pleasant and uplifting breeze, it will also do so with those who will smell this fragrance on you. Beautiful creation. Excellent performance and appropriate for any occasion.

I've never smelled a fragrance that was so heavy on pineapple before. It's like someone spilled so much pineapple juice on their leather jacket that it now smells more pineapple than leather. There's also a very strong note coming from it that I associate with men's fragrances that I hate. I think that it's a combination of pineapple mixed with labdanum and that fake marine scent People That Are Not Me like. I like labdanum/cistus in general, but it clashes here in a way that makes it heavy and headachy. Some people will love this. It's just far too masculine in the way that I don't like for me or to want to ever smell it on anyone. Also, I only applied half a spray and rubbed my wrists together, and it's here to stay no matter what I do to scrub it off.
