Leisure in Paradise

I really like this. This is perfect, encapsulated summer to me. It feels summer in the way of an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean (not, e.g., summers spent in European art museums a la the Uffizi or partying in Ibiza). This is a tropical, maybe kind of cheap, vacation. You are probably wearing some brightly-colored pastel or neon pink printed shorts (think Lily Pulitzer) or your cutest bikini. You've got on giant, Breakfast at Tiffany's sunglasses and, maybe, a large hat. You are most definitely drinking pina coladas (this, in fact, really smells like a pina colada to me). There is definitely a pool and definitely a white sand beach - so you can change your waters from time to time. It manages to evoke this WITHOUT smelling like sunscreen which is already going to make it a 9/10 for me. Instead, this really focuses on the pineapple to bring a bright, sharp and tangy edgy to the sunscreen sweetness of the coconut and vanilla. Both the coconut and vanilla are light, subdued and not heavy handed. Maybe a bit artificial, yes, but again we are at an all-inclusive Cabo or Bahamas resort and we aren't trying to be that classy. There are Ugly Americans around everywhere and, honestly, that's fine because it's (a) nostalgic and (b) honestly a pretty nice beach vacation that doesn't break the bank? It doesn't matter, you're having fun. And this is nothing if not fun and youthful and unpretentious. I don't get any woody notes here at all. This, for me, is pretty much coconut + pineapple + vanilla, but well blended and I can enjoy it because of that. As it dries, the vanilla is more and more pronounced, but the tropical note stays, elevating it a bit. It also goes a little more woody, at last after probably an hour. Let me be clear, this is quite gourmand so you need to like very sweet fragrances. However, it is not overly fruity or coconut-y which usually causes me to dislike these types of fragrances. I enjoy it and it makes me dream of childhood vacations to the Caribbean with mom and dad or cheap Panama City haunts during my sorority days. But like slightly more elevated? I still won't purchase a bottle because it doesn't do my nose too many favors, for some reason (I am super sensitive and won't discredit this one for that flaw of mine).

Imagine a freshly made juice with papaya, pineapple and a splash of coconut water with the coconut pulp still in it. This is not your typical piña colada fragrance, and it definitely isn't another generic coconut-heavy summer perfume. The papaya is what makes it stand out. The vanilla is beautifully blended. It doesn't make the fragrance sugary or dessert-like. Instead, it smooths everything out and gives the fruits a soft, creamy feel. The funny thing is that I actually hate eating papaya. I can't stand the fruit. Yet somehow, in this perfume, it works beautifully. Mixed with the pineapple and coconut, it creates something unique that I haven't found in other fragrances. I can picture myself wearing this while walking along the beach in the late afternoon, having dinner at a seaside restaurant, or enjoying drinks on a terrace just before sunset. It also works surprisingly well for warm summer evenings because it feels tropical without smelling cheap, overly sweet or like sunscreen. The projection is moderate at first and gradually becomes more intimate after a few hours, which I actually enjoy because people notice it when they're close without it filling an entire room. On my clothes, it lasts around 8 hours, which is very good for this type of fragrance. Yes, it's expensive. But honestly, I haven't found another fragrance at a lower price that captures this papaya note so naturally. That's exactly what separates it from the countless summer fragrances that all end up smelling like coconut and piña coladas. If you're looking for another generic tropical fragrance, this probably isn't it. But if you want something elegant, unique and unmistakably summery, it's absolutely worth trying.

It is amazing, I'm cannot believe I found a perfume like this! It is super delicious, very creamy tropical vanilla. It smells like a total vacation bottle. Like being in some place beautiful, warm, with all the delicious tastes of the exotic destination and desserts. I don't like coconut scents in most ceses, but here it is blended to perfection and does not have that dated coconut - aquatic typical holiday scent or sunscreen vibe. Here vanilla is much stronger, and it is creamy, sweet and delicious, like a vanilla cream with a touch of rich coconut. Plus beautiful tropical fruit! It is hard to put a finger on the exact fruit variety, which I sense here, so I guess it must be papaya, because to me it doesn't have a very distinct smell, but rather a general tropical fruit vibe. Pineapple is also blended very well and it is not stright forward in this perfume. Do no pina colada here, but I'm glad actually, because this is so unique. It is like all other houses tried to create a scent like this, but only Simone Andreoli managed to achieve the perfect gourmand creamy delicious tropical vacation in a bottle scent. Oh, also it is a bit lactonic and reminds me a bit of a delicious creamy passion fruit yogurt. It is a true leisure in paradise 😍 Performance is superb, good projection and impressive longevity for such scent profile. And best of all, zero musk! Although it screams vacation and warm weather, I think it is more suited for not so hot days, when you actually need for a bit of vacation to come to you. On hot days/during workout it might be a touch too sticky /sweet.

A gorgeous fun and flirty warm/hot weather fragrance! I'm so excited summer is here so I get to wear her more frequently. I get all the notes listed from the top notes to the dry down, the pineapple, papaya and coconut are blended beautifully so it smells luxurious. As it dries down, I get more vanilla, though it's present throughout the wear. Spillage and projection are moderate (if I do 4 to 5 sprays), but I overspray if I'm going out and she projects well and garners compliments. I also brought a decant of LIP to Punta Cana but I almost couldn't tell what it was when smelling it there initially (I forgot to label all my decants and had a few tropical scents), but then I sprayed on one arm and spray a different fragrance on the other and it hit me and developed beautifully in the heat. I found I had to really overspray there to get it to last, otherwise longevity is moderate 6 to 7 hours. I'm so happy to have this beauty in my collection and would highly recommend sampling as I don't know that this would be for everyone. I would give this a solid 10/10 for a sexy tropical fragrance and will repurchase when I run out. 🥰❤️

Leisure in Paradise & Buontalenti comparison: On me, this smells 90% similar to Buontalenti. I love them both! The only difference is that Leisure in Paradise is more vanilla prominent with more of that play dough vanilla feel. Whereas Buontalenti is more fruity. Otherwise, if you own one, you don’t need the other unless you are crazy for that scent profile. I would also say that Leisure in Paradise can be worn in cold weather, whereas Buontalenti cannot due to the extra fruity touch. They are both equally delicious and scrumptious and they smell like baked vanilla goodies with a banana-ish base and vanilla jelly beans 🍌🍪🍦 Also, if you have never smelt either, then Leisure in paradise smells like a delicious coconutty and vanilla jelly bean. Emphasis on the vanilla. Yummy! 😋 Ps. Buontalenti is slightly stronger and more long lasting, but Leisure in paradise still has decent longevity and sillage. Also, the two are strictly for gourmand lovers in my opinion because they smell VERY delicious and edible Hope that helps if you are confused on which one to go for! 💕
