Black Rose

I received a 16 piece discovery set of Middle Eastern fragrances and I went through all of them and this was my absolute favorite. I was surprised that I liked it, because all the previous ones I smelled were basically all heavily floral, or heavy on the oud. So when I came across the title Black Rose, I was a little disappointed to see there was another floral one for me to discover. I was greatly surprised. I get a heavy floral, but with a decent fruity note mixed in which makes it unlike anything else in the whole set. It reminds me of the Argos DNA a lot- in fact this reminds me of Bacio Imortale a lot- except Bacio dries down quickly to something I like a lot less. So far, this doesn’t dry down into anything different. What you get in the opening is what you get throughout. Yes that makes this linear, but I wouldn’t want this scent to change anyway. Looking at the accords at the top of this page, I see leather, and I can’t stand leather scents. But this one is a solid 9 or more out of 10. This is a decent winter scent for a sophisticated person, and I don’t even like winter scents that much.

I get a blast of floral and saffron spice notes in the opening. After that there's the leather. I don't get much vetiver in the dry down. Is quite a unisex fragrance, with the dry down leaning a bit masculine with the leather. Lasts for 6+ hours on skin. More than 2 sprays would be too much. The projection and sillage is excellent. This leaves a scent trail for 3-4 hours.

First Impressions: (Discovery set) Note: I was smelling a lot of perfumes at once. Sorry couldn’t help myself lol. This one on paper I did not get any rose, but maybe rose underneath. I’m not a huge lover of rose, so that’s a plus for me personally. It does smell like a deep earthy violet as @ncwvenus21 said. Very nice.

Blind buying this fragrance turned out to be a colossal mistake- the top notes dispersed quickly and all I was left with was leather, rose and a whisper of raspberry. Oh did the leather dominate in the worst kind of way. I'll try to get my hands on the discovery set before making anymore expensive explorations, and that's all I have to say.

I don't get a deep dark rose here at all. On first spray it is green and fresh, damp, reminds me of Le Nez Unicorn Spell, which is a green damp earthy violet. I mean maybe some might say the violet and rose are so well blended it is hard to tell them apart. This is nice but not deep and dark like what I would think a black rose would be Edit: sprayed this today, strange now I am getting a black tea note, is that what they mean by Black Rose, not sure but I am not a fan. This is different than everything out there
