Scaasi

Wow, that's an odd one. The first surprise was when I sprayed it on my wrist and saw brown oily liquid (probably as it was pure perfume). Great Scott, what if I sprayed it on clothes! Heavy scent, reminds me of solid perfume- there's a similar note in all solid scents. So this one is a liquidified solid by the smell of it. Very serious, intense and dark, that's a lot of spicy flowers, megaton strength really. At this stage I don't see myself wearing this in public. The situation changes in the dry down stage. Dry down in Scaasi is sweeter, gentler, fruitier and muskier. Vanilla and civet in combination smell classy and expensive and I keep sniffing my wrist non-stop. The most likable stage in this perfume, lovable actually. I would wear this gladly, even at home at first, like a sinful treat for me alone. UPD: the staying power is tremendous, almost 2 days already. The last stages smell like my beloved Turbulences, which is an added bonus. Another bottle on the way.

A sweeter, fruity, watered down Ciara or some other spicy floriental but light on the spice. I mainly smell Tuberose but not the creamy element, just the sweetness, peach, narcissus and ylang with a hint of musk mixed with cinnamon or pepper that give it a little spice. I would call this a fruity floral more than a floriental but it keeps from being candy fruit floral with that little bit of texture. I have a huge bottle I really won't use. Edit: I tried this in January again in the deep of winter and am not in love but really really like it a lot. I guess it's where and when my nose is. My review stands but this is a pretty aldehydic floral that is big going on but gets close to the skin in the drydown. Still the fruity nuances from the peach and ylang. You must love tuberose. Reminds me of Fracas.

Smellin' like a realtor in her 70s today and I don't mind! Scaasi was a cheap blind buy for me and I quite enjoy it. It starts out with a juicy, peachy, tuberose burst but is quickly overtaken by yellow flowers, spicy carnation, chalky violets, and a slightly uranous civet. The overall effect is rather sunny and balmy with a powdery veil of pollen. It also powers down rather quickly from a potentially high-volume schreecher to powdery, reserved floral within the hour. (Still quite pretty though!) I do love it, especially for the price, but if only it had a smidge more density and volume it would be heaven!

A yellow flower bomb with fruity notes, S. is delicious. Similar to Ysatis and Giorgio, but with sweet stone fruit notes, S. is quite bold. Sillage and lasting power isn't remarkable. I consider this a feminine scent, but men might want to try it out. Quite affordable, I bought a big chonk of a bottle for little money. Go for the spray rather than the splash, the 3.3 oz bottle has a big big opening and I've already spilled some.

I was given this perfume as a present by a very classy and sophisticated lady, who is passed away now. It was stolen from my app.t many yrs. Ago and i wonder if it's still being sold in the US. This is not a proper review, but I remenber I loved this perfume and the bottle design. in the same robbery they stole also a brand new big bottle of Panthere de Cartie!

Accidentally came across this perfume on sidebar after researching notes for Organza Indecence. Decided to try it after reading reviews. This is a well blended, potent, confident woman, fragrance. Projects elegance, IMO. Sure it is a late 80's perfume, but those perfumes are in a class by themselves, QUALITY. This humble review is for the EDT. I'm wondering what Parfum strength would do to my senses? Remotely reminds me of Joop. Out dated? Everything I like and prefer seems to be outdated, and I love it.

I wanted to like Scaasi, because I thought, a perfume from this designer, only one they ever released, has to be at least a little interesting. I love civet too, so I was hoping those base notes would come out strongly. It's ok. It is, unfortunately, dated and not in a good way, but something that a real estate agent in her 70's named Gloria would wear. She probably has excellent style, but she's been wearing Scaasi since it was released and has no plans to change. It's quite fruity, with lots of tuberose as others have mentioned. I don't get the base notes at all, which I was really hoping would prop up the composition and give it some spice and grit, but they just aren't there to my nose. It's not bad, just not what I hoped it would be. It's definitely decent quality, and something I would describe as classy and elegant. I will also say, I quite like the design of the bottle and box!

Much like peaches in light syrup, Scaasi is cheap and cheerful—and delicious. Yes, I get peaches in light syrup as it opens, punctuated with orange blossom, and not long after a tuberose treble and narcissus nocturne, all yellow-orange balm like the pollen on the tip of anthers. It warms into a ylang ylang and while there is an eyebrow-raising civet undertone, Scaasi doesn't remain bold for too long, it simmers down into something quite polite, while still evocative. Sort of like someone who comes in hot but after a stiff drink or ten minutes of meditation, they relax and can focus on the confluence between you and them. This is what I hoped from the iconic Fracas but felt it was too bossy for a somewhat easygoing guy like myself to endure. I can get with Scaasi, it's a vibe as the kids say: a peachy, juicy, saucy number that doesn't wear out its welcome.

I was sad to hear of Arnold Scaasi's passing this week. I have always loved his fragrance, his couture, and I especially enjoyed watching him on the Home Shopping Network with his beautiful jewelry designs. His dry sense of humor made him so fun to watch. For those of you who have not experienced his perfume, please give it a try. It is still very reasonably priced online, and it is quite an intricate huge floral. I would compare it closely to Giorgio or maybe the original Chloe, however, I feel that this one is a bit more wearable (still in small doses). Rest in Peace Mr. Scaasi, we will miss you but your legend lives on!

Interestingly enough, I can understand why Scaasi did not achieve the popularity of some of the 80's classics. While I like all of the notes, the fresh edp sample I received had very gentle sillage and little "POW!" compared to other fragrances of this ilk. On my skin there was also very little longevity, though while it lasted it was pleasant enough. Unless this gentle floriental hits it off perfectly with your chemistry, I suspect Scaasi will remain in the "pleasant enough" categeory!

Sweet tuberose. It's a complex sweet floral blend, it has ylang, apricots, narcissus, gardenia, tuberose, jasmines, roses, orange blossoms, civet, orange, vetiver, and musk. In short, it's sharp sweet floral blend, VERY 80s sharpness roses blend and quite powerful. I really enjoyed as it settles into whiffs between narcissus, orange blossoms, gardenia, apricots, and roses with slight powder on the way. Amazingly blended. And it has nothing to do with "Narcisse Chloe" by Chloe at all.

Tuberose, gardenia and Ylang Ylang BOMB. If you don't like florientals don't even try this. I was able to obtain a vintage bottle of this beauty and I am very pleased with the enormous potency of this scent. This is a true flower-bomb. This is like a fruity version of Fracas. You smell a ton of peach and banana (although I guess some of the banana note I get is just from the ylang ylang) some spices some woody/ambery notes that are mostly supportive. Tremendous projection.

A bold tuberose with the 1980s written all over it. Similar style to the Carolina Herrera that came out a year prior to this. I definitely get the juicy apricot note and the waxy, fleshy narcissus as well. Hints of civet are there to remind you what era this hails from. Makes me want to wear shoulder pads, a ton of hair product and listen to Bette Midler.

This is a no holds barred slightly peachy tuberose perfume with the 80's stamped all over it. Way too dated to wear now unless you want people to wrinkle their nose and move away from you. Good quality but not a wearable classic.

This stuff is a riot in a Whorehouse..I have the vintage parfum and it is the definition of a powerhouse Floriental..Everything but the kitchen sink and yes a close relation to the 80's formula of Fracas.
