Fig and Oud

This is one of the best, most beautiful and sophisticated fig scents I’ve found. So gorgeous, and amazing combination of fig and oud. Sad that it has been discontinued.

Edit: oud is very present on dry down, after I wore this a couple times. I love it. Drier, non skanky oud masculine energy overall to fragrance This is a delicious scent that feels dark and fresh at the same time. I get far more fig than oud - as noted below, it makes no sense to try this if you don’t like fig, but the oud is muted and blended such that it is not discernible and just melts into a woody background. The green, watery, and only lightly sweet aspects of fig are present here. I am reminded immediately of Dipytique Philosykos, but this seems richer and deeper, as if aged significantly. I can’t speak to the longevity because I only have a 1 ml sample and I cannot fully detect the violet, vetiver and other notes, presumably for this reason. I think I will be picking this one up for the summer and fall months. Great match if you are into figs. Very interested to try more from this house. I just randomly picked up the sample.

I have become quite the enjoyer of clean Oud fragrances especially when blended with suede type notes, or lovely fruit notes. Fig and Oud is a stand out fragrance to my nose. A lovely fall fougere that men and even ladies with good nature inspired fougere scent experience can enjoy. The fig, smoky Oud essence and Vetiver are a soft well blended fragrance. So delicious! I would not blind buy a full bottle unless you feel adventurous and know the notes are for you! More of a western Oud so it’s softer than mid-east Ouds tend to be. I’ve tried Scents of Woods Apricot & Cognac and Plum & Cognac and they’re absolutely lovely. I highly recommend this house if you love woody nature-esq fragrances.

Interesting and not what I expected. It has an almost powdery facet and is not the least bit sweet. Still, it’s a nice scent, and the drydown is quite nice and long. It’s a very dry oud and not challenging. I’d call it a Western Oud, but it doesn’t seem synthetic à la Oud for Greatness and Oud Wood. On the whole, it’s nice enough, but seems simple and didn’t wow me.

Fig and Oud opens with a pretty nasty scent. NO, not oud. Somehow, an oud opening with a barnyard or cheese doesn't really bother me. Fig and Oud, OTOH, opened up with a strong combo of Simple Green (the liquid cleaner) and a hint of green onions. Really not good. It took a good 30 minutes or so for this scent to evolve into something else, which in this case was a pleasant woody scent - nice enough but nothing to write home about. Sillage was moderate after the first 30 minutes. Longevity was a good 10 hours, but mostly as a skin scent. I'll pass.

Very harsh opening, going two directions at once, almost if the fragrance is trying to rip itself in half, mellows down from this sharp oud opening to something more reminiscent of philosykos, a very unripe nectarine esque fig note, oud moves away, atleast on paper, not so bad after the opening, in the late drydown a vague tobacco and ambery smell comes in, which is interesting considering the notes, all in all this is coming from someone who isnt a big fan of oud, violet, or fig, so if you like those, this will be a great pick
