Pine in the Sun

This is green and somehow warm and sunny. It captures the mood of walking through a pine forest but the pine needles on the ground have been baking at midday for a while. It’s unique and not like anything else I’ve encountered. I like it and find it very wearable. With two sprays it projects for the first hour or two and then becomes mostly a skin scent that lasts a long time. Also, there is some note in here that is reminiscent of BR540 as others have said, that to me comes across as a bit sweet.

One of my favorites from the line. I burned through the travel size and went for a full bottle. Airy pine, aromatics, very reminiscent of the summer sun warming up a pine tree. There’s a sweetness that’s reminiscent of Baccarat Rouge in the background. It makes the whole composition very likeable and easy to wear. I wear this year round, but it really shines in the heat.

A marvelous aromatic fragrance, concentrating on pine. This smells almost creamy in the opening. I understand the reference to BR540, stated below...there is the slightest touch of sweetness to this scent. This is a warm scent, no pine cleaner here. I'm really enjoying this and might have to upgrade from my travel size.

This smells like a very masculine version of BR 540. I think 540 leans female. THIS is definitely male through and through. It's pretty friggn' great.

This is lovely, sweet, fresh, unique and captivating fragrance. It's one of the rarest perfume where the pink pepper is well blended

Short Review. 8.4/10 My personal favorite from this house, very unique blend that almost perfectly captures exactly what a branch of pine leaves/needles smells like if they got warmed by the sun for a while. Depth is a little lacking towards the later stages of the dry down, to the point where I can barely differentiate it from the sandalwood scents from this house. The "sun" note actually sticks throughout the whole duration, which is very impressive. Not much projection in my opinion, a little less aromatic compared to the usual summer or spring scents.

This is exactly as described - Pine in the Sun. This is not your frosty forest Christmas tree evergreen. This is golden warm weather pine. Not something I've smelled before and I kind of enjoy it.

Pine in the Sun is the first sample of eight I have from Scents of Wood. Having been on a sample testing binge with a dearth of anything new or unique, I was pleasantly surprised with Pine in the Sun. It's definitely unique and unlike anything I've smelled before. It's rather linear but outside of mellowing out a bit and the slight change noted below, it's pretty much the same from beginning to end. So, what does it smell like? The main accord I get from it is "green". It's definitely a green scent with an interesting balance of resin and spice. The green here is vegetation - leaves and such, not conifer, pine or Christmas tree. As it dried down and mellowed out there was a very slight fougere hint. Could that be from the oakmoss and lavender? Maybe, but it's very subtle. All in all, very unique for my nose. Performance was decent. It's not a stink bomb, but lasted about 9 hours for me. Projection was more modest after about the first 30 to 60 minutes. My verdict - let me first give you a suggestion. If you find my description above intriguing, get yourself a sample and try it. For me, Pine in the Sun didn't work for me somehow. I didn't really care for the combination of green, spice and resin. Just didn't sit well with my nose. Nevertheless, I have to give credit to Scents of Wood for coming up with an interesting fragrance.

I get a very strong vinegar smell from it. The pine is definitely there but I don’t get a nice refreshing pine, I get a moldy musty pine. If you’re hoping to smell like the mountains this is not the move.

Goes on fruity pine, nicely sappy and green with warm wood notes, drying a smell like the inside of an old wooden building in the sun, like one that has been there for 100 years or so and is gently basking. This stage is dusty and very dry, not hot but the warmth is there. Then there’s screamwood. And it’s very light the whole time, not a lot of body or projection. It's okay overall, but that harsh wood in the base annoys me a lot. I would totally be jazzed to have the ancient wood building in the sun smell last all day though. Reminds me of back east, museums and the shed out back of my grandparents house in high summer.

Very strong pine needle scent, does smell like it was baking in the sun, interesting way to capture solar notes, very pleasant!
