Rain on Oak

its a photorealistic scent-depiction of the forest i lived in when i was 13. 2 am. the hand carved wooden swing-set situated between the oak trees that i’d go to & sleep on whenever i was upset. there’s a concrete sidewalk leading into the forest, it’s always wet. it’s humid & sticky & feels like the air at the end of july when you finally see rain again leading into august. smells like homesickness, smells like a nap. smells like the wetness of stray nails left outside of your house by construction workers after the rain.

It starts off like aftershave but very quickly develops into a wonderful, soft nature smell. It smells exactly like a mossy forest after rain and there is a wet dirt smell that acts as pleasant undertone. Very, very accurate to the real thing. It reminds me of the forests North of Vancouver and as such it's a very sentimental fragrance.

To me this evokes memories of the forest preserve behind my house during a late spring rain storm. It is not a blind buy safe fragrance so much as it is a memory in a bottle. I absolutely love this fragrance and wear it anytime it rains.

A forest in the middle of a thunderstorm or a giant cement rose — you be the judge! I love it either way.

This is quite nice. It reminds me of rain hitting concrete, or the smell of wet earth. It reminds me of the Azores on an fresh rainy day. It might be a bit challenging to wear because of how earthy and stone-like it smells, but it's quite lovely. In my opinion, it's a photorealistic depiction of a rainy day. As with everything, try before you buy. But if you are looking for a petrichor type of scent, this fragrance is a solid option for that. I was quite happy with my sample and I think it's one of the better fragrances from Scents of Wood. Otherwise, I would wear Hinoki in Hinoki if it wasn't so masculine on the dry-down. Rain on Oak is definitely a more gender-neutral option.

This is such a beautiful scent. The smell of heavy rain on a forest by the beach. Romantic and peaceful

This is my favorite of the Scents of Wood line. This is just so realistic of a forest after a rain.

Petrichor and wet wood. Like the scent of wet mulch.
