Initial Thoughts: So I originally smelled this in store and saw that it was cheap online, absolutely loved the way it smelled off the opening. Really pleasant in my opinion. Did some review searching and saw some people said they experienced bad performance issues with it. I decided to pick it up anyways, for like $20 and figured no big deal pretty cheap, I can just reapply frequently since I like the way it smells, I own about 20 bottle of cologne so this one wouldn’t really make or break my collection. Story: Anyways, bottle came in and I spray it on to test performance and experiment a little. Definitely doesn’t last very long if you spray it in the traditional areas, wrists, neck, essentially your pulse points, get about 2-4 hours max out of it if I spray it there and then it’s gone. I decided to wear it again today and decided to spray it on the back of my hands as well as on my wrists. Wrist scent gone after about 4 hours, but the back of the hand I could still pick up for about 8 hours faintly for the last hour or so. Sprayed on about 10am, could still faintly smell it around 7pm on the back of my hand, can’t remember if I did 1 or 2 sprays on the back of my hand. So longer story made shorter you might be able to improve performance on this by spraying it in areas that don’t put off as much heat, and being a little generous with sprays. Performance: 5/10 Projection is not great on this, it becomes a skin scent quickly. But if applied generously, it will stick as a skin scent for a long time. 2-3 hours weak to moderate projection. 3-5 hours max on pulse points, 6-8 hours back of hands(with hand washing and all for restroom breaks). Scent: 9/10 opening 7/10 dry down The scent is definitely pleasant, I really don’t think your lady or significant will have anything bad to say about this once it’s dried down to a skin scent. It is really pronounced in the beginning, but the dry down loses that punch pretty heavily, my suggestion is be generous with the sprays if you’d like it to last a little longer. Closing: I like it but a Conditional Recommendation for sure Conditions - 1) Smell in store first to see if you like it, I know it was carried at Macy’s for awhile, don’t know if they still have it, but definitely see if you like the scent before purchasing As it’s not a strong performer. 2) Only buy from online discounters, if you pay more than $25 for this you’re getting a terrible deal. 3) Only use this for its strong points, if you go in hoping this will be a daily driver or super performer you’re definitely going to be disappointed. A night in cuddling on the couch, or an attention grabber that you spray on 5-10 minutes before picking up your date. Update: Was actually passing something to a friend around 9:30pm this same day and she told me my cologne smelled good, I actually hadn’t reapplied the cologne at all as I had been out all day and left my bottle at home. it was definitely a super faint skin scent at that point, and I was honesty amazed she picked it up at all because I had to stick my nose to the back of my hand to even catch a trace of it.

I'm calling Sean John's latest fragrance Sean John for what it is. It is a stronger Bath & Body Works Noir (minus the lavender) and by default on par with Armani Code minus the leather and tobbaco. That said for whatever reason is housed in a bottle similar to Sauvage minus the gradient. So Seattle Dweller was right, even if I didn't see it at first or perhaps didn't want to see it. Sean John really citrusy on its open with a good amount of mint and little pepper. The pepper leads into a cardamom and nutmeg heavy mid with a slight violet leaf note. That said, the violet is in NO WAY as prevalent as say Fahrenheit and its flankers, Stetson Caliber, The Beat, Touch, etc. but rather in the background like Jay Z Gold. The base is spicy, woody and sweet with vanilla being the major note while you get woods and also some cumarin. Sean John I found has a good amount of projection off the bat. And it somewhat sticks for a good amount. Then the longevity is really good going about eight hours on my skin. The performance for the price I paid was very worth it. The down fall for Sean John I find is that it is a bit limited in use. I find that like B&BW Noir, Sean John is good for concerts, sporting events but unlike Noir, Sean John is a clubbing scent. It can also work for dates but you might want to reign in sprays due to strong performance while Noir you do not. It is a fall scent due to the spicecan also work in winter and spring. Sean John really made a good banger here that got slept on. For whatever reason it didn't trickle into retailers as fast as others. I found it in Walmart for 19.99 for 30ml before it made its way into discount websites for whatever reason. I have to rate it 7.9 out of 10. I wish it was less limited in use. I really like it, nearly love it, but if I really want to wear this in a work or casual setting, I'm going with Noir. Update, I am glad to read this is getting the hype it is now.

★★★ (3 / 5 stars) Silky smooth vanilla - amber - sweet and powdery scent with a hint of freshness and sexy spicy kick from cardamom notes. Very different from the orange based Sean Jean Unforgivable or fruity I am King releases. Great looking dark black bottle, thick glass with an excellent sprayer (Dior Sauvage rip-off?) This is similar to the vibe from Carolina Hererra 212 Club or Halloween Man Shot, and perhaps Chanel Allure Extreme or a toned down Armani Code with out the leather notes, or Paris Hilton Gold Rush. It is appropriate for work and casual wear. Low projection, this is not a clubbing scent, but above average longevity as others have mentioned. Large bottles are frequently around $35 online - a steal at that price but not memorable enough to fork over $80 or more. Great date scent.

This, on a paper strip at least, was really good! Quite the surprise compared to his other scents. I'd put this in the same category as Kenneth Cole Black in the opening, despite the comparisons to 1 Million as it begins to dry down. I'd buy it for the right price! It's nothing to go running after or anything, but it's nothing to sneeze at either. Pun intended. :)

Nothing like PR 1 million. 1 million has distinct cinnamon and rose 🌹 notes. Neither of which are in this release. “It has a sophistication that gives the vibe of a great men’s fragrance. Watered down Paco Rabanne OG 1 Million. If you want a faint PR 1 Million this it, it’s less offensive that sits close to the skin. If PR 1 million sensitivity is a 8.9 then Sean John by SJ is 4.9 sensitivity. Last about 4 to 5 hrs but sits close to the skin. I’ll rate it a 8.2

Very good scent , long lasting and strong, caramel, vanilla notes . Perfect for cooler days , fall / winter fragrance . Gets me a lot of female compliments . highly recommended .Just try it and like it.

Don't believe the troll ratings here. This is a pretty good cheapie.

Mass appealing fruit snack kinda vibe, worth a blind buy under 25$

This isn’t a horrible scent and I could see how people could really like this but for me it was only slightly above average. It’s in the same genre as invictus/ 1 million and Eros as it’s a fresh, creamy,sweet bubblegum type of smell. All those scents I listed earlier in my opinion are superior as they is pretty generic. The main note in this that to me caused this to be subpar is Cardomom as I felt if this had less Cardomom and more vanilla this could have been a really good scent. Performance on this is good as it lasts 5-8 hours but has average projection. For a cheapie it’s decent though ! Overall rating—6.5 out of 10 ! Decent scent for a good price but there are better scents out there that have this vibe. Another cheapie that smellls very similar but is better in my opinion is Paris hilton gold rush man. Now that was a damn good scent !

Paid $10 for a 1oz of this and it's pretty good. I'm usually not one for the fruity or sweet style of fragrances but I wanted to try this out because of the price. It has some good longevity and projection. Lasts maybe 4+ hours off one spray. The atomizer is great too by the way, a nice hearty accurate blast. No wide sprays or weird misty spurts on my bottle. As for the scent itself I get an amalgamation of notes from other fragrances such as Eros, Silver Black, 1981 LA, and Legend Spirit. There's a round fruity orange juice, vanilla, warm sweetness, and a touch of wood and spice in here that's surprising. This is a great budget fragrance and thankfully not sickly sweet or childish like a lot of other scents in this style. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone.

This is actually a really good fragrance. The spice, The wood, it really is a nicely done fragrance. I blind bought this because I've seen some reviewers talking about it being a good cheapie, so I figured, why not. An excellent blind buy for the Fall/Winter. I will point out a drawback, and that is, it goes good for about an hour or so, then it falls into being a skin scent. And lastly... The part where it says "People who like this also like" section, fits just about right with this.

To me it’s a blue version of Invictus. It has that Ambrox base that’s typical of modern men’s fragrances. It’s by no means a bad scent and will replace my cheap car freshener (polo club blaze). I think under $30 is a good price and you’ll be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t like it. Actually I think this is a better projecting Coach for Men, anyone else?

Smells like 1 million prive UPDATE- dry downs to a very sweet powdery scent(slightly feminine) and most of the spice notes disappear. Initial spray-7.8/10 Dry down-4.5/10 Longevity- 4/10 Sillage-4.5/10 Overall- 6/10 Not bad for a cheapie

Not a bad fragrance. It alot like one million for sure. It smells like alot of other ones but if you don't own many this one is good. Stays on pretty good.

This is good! I noticed the citrus and vanilla first, then the subtle mint and nutmeg. Definitely giving this to my partner. Good for snuggling!

I started with four sprays on the chest, which seemed to subside to skin really quickly. I was tempted to write it off, but a few reviews said that it actually lasted longer than it seemed due to anosmia. So I did 5 more sprays, and at the 3 hour mark, it is still wafting decently. That is enough for me to move beyond performance and into the notes. This opens with a nice, natural-smelling bergamot and black pepper accord, sitting atop a light vanilla/coumarin base. At 45 minutes, cardamom and violet leaf notes join the vanilla tones in a smooth, slightly blue, spice kind of way. I don't know Angelica, and I don't catch any mint. The notes also list amber, musk (white) and and amberwood (whatever that is), and these are all in evidence. I didn't get nutmeg or sandalwood at all. This reminds me of Lattafa Ejaazi, with its combination of elements of Bleu de Chanel and Layton. Ejaazi's performance is better and it is less expensive, but I really need to try these two side by side to be sure that they are duplicative. For what it is, SJSJ is nice, and other than the (possible) performance issues, I see no reason for any hate. It is light, pleasant, and clearly designed to be mass appealing.

This one is definitely not bad. I found it surprisingly pleasant - better than the mediocre offerings from Kenneth Cole (what happened to them??) and Hugo Boss. Don't let the references to One Million fool you. This does not smell LIKE One Million, it's just of a similar scent family or style. This actually smells like a modern version of Mandarina Duck Black. It's fruity, juicy, and floral with a bit of tonka bean and a slightly sweet dry down. But what makes it more modern is the toned down sweetness. It doesn't have that fuzzy texture of cinnamon and suede of One Million either. It's persistent without being overbearing. I give this a 7.5-8/10. Nothing special but it performs well and smells good. Is it signature worthy? Not quite. But if you are looking for a workhorse fragrance to add to your collection that won't require a strategy to wear, look no further. This will suit all your needs.

So never thought about this scent bc always "heard" it was nothing to speak about...dont know why i brushed this one off bc wow. Smelled this off a coworker and all the talk about performance being crap is total BS! For 3hrs this afternoon walking around our facility the sillage and scent cloud from this was pushing! Sean John is fruity sweet scent with pepper providing a nice contrast and somewhat giving the scent a grown up vibe. All in all, just bc you can't smell the scent off yourself doesn't mean the performance is shit...just means you've most likely gone nose blind.

If you are at the rack store or online and considering blind buying this fragrance. Sean John, the answer is yes. This is a underated hidden jem that deserves more love and effection. It's a seductive sweet vanilla scent. Very well balanced and smells way more expensive than it is This is a great value. It has a big scent bubble and lasts several hours. This is like Mercedes Benz Club or Guess Seductive, nice malt or vanilla sweetness. Also like CK One Shock. Dolce Cabana the One a bit as well.

I bought it for around USD9 100ml demo unit. The smells is good, reminds me to some sweet designer frags like Invictus & 1 Million but the performance really poor. The worst so far in my frags collection. Projects about 30mins, then it sit very close to the skin. Last 3-4 hours max then it faint & gone. U need to spray 10-15 sprays to get it up to par level with designer fragrance.

Sean Jean is a really good fragrance! I've worn it a couple times to work and the compliments have been consistent, I usually get at least 3 to 4 ladies that want to know what cologne I have on. The top notes of bergamot, mandarin, black pepper and water mint,,really drive this fragrance to a mass appealing scent. I'm definitely wearing this for the upcoming fall season.

This is "P.Diddy's" best scent to date. I have tried 3am, unforgivable,and I am King. And they all stink to high heaven, yet this fragrance gets a lower rating, makes me wonder if people have really smelled the other stinky stuff from P.Diddy?

This performs on my skin for hours, just not much projecting as it is meant to be. This is a gem if you like Armani Code or sweet frags that are versatile. This smells much more expensive than it is.

Quite pleasant. Like a cleaner version of 1 Million. Not as annoyingly sweet, not as spicy. But definitely in that flavor profile. I dig it.

Great low budget colonge that actually smells really good at a good price definitely a safe blind buy.

Smells delicious to me , but becomes a skin scent fairly quickly.
