Unforgivable

This is my updated review of Sean John Unforgivable. Sean John Unforgivable is some really good stuff. Let me start off by saying that I cannot compare it to Creed Millisime Imperial. I have not smelt MI so I cannot truly compare the two at all. That said, I can compare this to Ed Hardy Love & Luck, Exceptional Because You Are for Men, Cuba Wild Heart and New York Yankees. Before I get into the comparisons, let me state how good Unforgivable is in its own right. Unforgivable is citrusy opening scent that projects really good that dies off into a great boozy base. The citrus open is highlighted by the somewhat metallic tangerine and green mandarin with some hints of bergamot. The base however is a strong rum scent with a little bit of cashmere and a slight tonka bean and sandalwood base. The mid is rather unrecognizable to me nose for some reason but that is entirely fine. The scent lasts just about a work-day at about 7/8 hours before dying off. It projects for about an hour/hour and a half, at a pretty good moderate sillage. Let's face it, most male fragrances aren't super-strong in sillage, especially during summer. Unforgivable is very verstatile. It is light enough to be a day scent but the booze makes it a bit more of a night scent to my nose. It can be worn virtually any season too, well at least in Arizona. I find it can be worn for night dates fairly easily and may work for close encounters. I wouldn't say skeleton key since it is not a club banger. Now Unforgivable is far more mature than Love & Luck is and far less soapy than New York Yankees is. It is far better than New York Yankees due to the length and smell, but if you talk Love & Luck, it's harder. If you are looking for a mature night scent, that's Unforgivable. If you are looking at a more youthful scent ready for vacations, that's Love & Luck. I love both Unforgivable and Love & Luck but I think I have to go Unforgivable being a little bit better, especially on more wearings. Unforgivable I have to give a 8.5 out of 10.

The first time I smelled this, I was on a bus. The year was 2012 and it was fall. I was absolutely mesmerized but too damn shy to figure out who was wearing it and ask them what it was. I had never smelled anything more beautiful and sexy! (I'm way more bold now and never stopped kicking myself for letting the opportunity to get my hands on it literally walk out of my presence.) I smelled it again on a guy I went to high school with and asked him, but the bastard lied to my face and told me it was something else. I finally found out what it was from a teacher a few days later. I bought a bottle online but it was fake! I've been going crazy for years trying to find the original 2006 version. I bought a bottle off eBay 2 weeks ago made by the Sean John Fragrances Dist. line (the original house maker, not Jacavi & Parlux- I don't care for that version). The original version smells absolutely heavenly and beautiful but I can't seem to find it anywhere, which is driving me nuts. The formula I received smells good too, although not what I wanted- it's missing that cool Bubu (insider) sexiness that drove me crazy for it in the first place, which makes me question if it's the original. But it's long-lasting, fresh, and sexy. Definitely one of my favorites!

This stuff is incredible. Point blank. Compliments galore!! Citrusy-fruity heaven. This scent is one of the most versatile scents I own. It's perfect for the gym. It's perfect for the office. It's perfect for lounging around the house, going out with friends, clubbing, anything really. It's got this citrus-fruity scent that reminds me a lot of that smell you get when you get a whiff of wet hair that was JUST washed with a really good scented shampoo. I think of that everything I wear it. It's amazing. Quality with price considered? Unbeatable! One my male fragrances in my collection (which is a ton) this is no exaggeration, in my top 5. You can get a 125ml/4.2oz bottle on ebay for $28. This would get a perfect 10/10 score from me if performance were slightly better. It isn't terrible...somewhere in the medium range so due to that...I give this one a 9.5/10 Longevity - About 5-6 hours depending on how heavy handed you are with it. Projection - Very good for the first 2 hours...then it starts to come closer to skin. Definite 9.5/10 for this one! HIGHLYYYY RECOMMEND!! Women absolutely love it. Everyone that smells this one me loves it actually. Two thumbs up P Diddy!

Before I got acquainted to the wide world fragrances, this was my signature scent. Within the first week it was released in 2006 I received a sample and and fell in love with it. The following Christmas I was gifted a 100 ml bottle and for 15 plus years it was basically the only fragrance I thought I needed. It has niche like qualities. Easy to wear.. most people love it.. especially women. Has that fresh, clean citrus aroma making it a perfect summer time fragrance, while the iris, tonka and rum make it perfect for a sexy date night. Leaves a nice scent bubble and strong enough projection to cut through the cold winter air. About average longevity. (4 to 6 hours) Even though now I've grown to appreciate and own many other fragrances, there is and always will be a bottle of "Sean John Unforgivable" in my collection.

Has always been my wife's favorite fragrance on me and has been my signature scent since out of high school. That was before I got into fragrances recently. I've come to really not care for it anymore and I'm starting to wonder if the only reason my wife likes it so much is just because it strikes the nostalgia of when she first fell in love with me lol. Performance is abysmal on both new and OG batches. If you want this smell do yourself a solid and get Armaf Milestone instead. Very very similar but higher quality with much better performance all around. Even give Love & Luck a try. Similar but different scent that is better imo. Though performance is also on the weaker side. Time to retire Unforgivable. The rest of my bottles will now just be used for the gym most likely.

Fancy soapy, slight fruity, slightly beachy. That's my way of explaining this juice. Only lasts 4 hours then turns to skin scent for the 5th and 6th hour then it's gone. People may find this worth wearing because it is less expensive than its competitor Creed Imperial Millesime. I scored a gift set that includes a large bottle, body wash and after shave for $32. I bought it from fragrance.net. I'm hoping if I use the 3 combined that it may last long on my skin. Ooh, I almost forgot I got the deoderant spray for about $10. I could perhaps layer that too. So exciting.. I'm now waiting for it to be delivered. It's free shipping but the only downside is that it could take up to a week and a half to arrive. Can't wait.

I wont let all the negative comments change my opinions about how much I have adored this fragrance. Sean John "Unforgivable" is the scent of my Scorpio nature. It is sharp, quick and pungent like these citrus notes and my scorpio tail. It's mellow and smooth, relaxed and home based like the scents of woody notes and amber, definitely me wrapped in a blanket at home. It's seductive and passionate, refined truly. This is Rum and not mentioned: PLUM and FIG. It's delicate like those sweet florals Lavender and a hint of Iris. Delicious fragrance truly! I just left a small bottle for my brother in Norway, he likes it. I have boughten two bottles of it now and will ALWAYS have one on hand. 10/10!

@Freedomlover, it is the same bottle. I bought mine the year it came out and inside the carton box is a black transparent plastic container that’s supposed to protect the bottle, but it is a thick plastic and you can keep it as a more stable holder for the bottle. I got of that plastic holder along with the carton since the bottle is sturdy enough in my opinion. Regarding the scent, mine is a first batch and it reminds me of a fruity champagne every I use it. Even with the first batch like mine, the longevity is really not that good. I haven’t smelled the new formulation so I can’t comment which one is better.

I remember when I was in highschool and someone had this perfume. Smelled so good that I had to buy it. I loved it and the girls in my class loved it too. Recently I found it again randomly at Burglinton and decided to buy to for old times sakes. Still smells just as good but for some reason I feel like its watered down now. Probably because this fragrance is almost two decades old. Its a mass appealing fragrance and also a versatile one while also being unique enough. It smells manly but without trying to hard to be so. Its a fragrance that can be pretty much all year round.

Lovely scent, great opening and good drydown, but very weak sillage and longevity. That sourness is sweet, definitely coming from plum and not from any vinegar. Sad to confirm that the quality scent from the original distributor is now an urban legend. The love rating goes to the legend, the like goes to the latest batch. Scented water from Bath & Body can compete with this latest batch in terms of performance. Another victim of Reformulation Era. I like this, even after the reformulation, must admit that the bottles before 2011 perform better but this scent is so unique that it's better than MI by Creed , love it and the ladies love this , great compliment getter, panty dropper #1 .I owe a lot of fragrances, SJ Unforgivable is one of my favourites , great citrus opening , woody notes , bergamot , lavendel and the boozy notes mixed is like heaven !! I only wish it performs better , longevity about 6+ hours and close to skin..... even though , great job Sean John

I came back to this page after buying one from Burlington. (My previous comment is below). I can now say this is worth it, even though it was reformulated to death. All you smell is Vick's Vapor rub and alcohol rub, and zesty lemon. But it's cheap and classic and most ppl have at least one memory wearing the original. Speaking of the original one, I'm trying to figure out what was the note that smelled like beach sand after a rain? My nose is not trained but it was one of the loveliest smells I've ever smelled.

This is one of the best fragrance! I'm a fan of Creed MI and what I can say this is the best MI clone, in my opinion Unforgivable has better opening than Creed (citrus green freshness) but middle and bese note MI is far better quality. Creed MI is a kind of fruity freshness and salty with brighter vibes who classier , Unforgivable is a kind of twin that more seductive Casanova and darker. I want to say MI is better, but I can't say that because Unforgivable has the best top-note!

I remember this scent to this day, it was year 2007-2008, someone at the office wore it everyday and it was beast mode, everyone would know he was about to pass by because the projection was da bomb, I even could smell it in my dreams 🤣🤣🤣 After the guy resigned, nobody dared to use this scent, I think they were afraid to be called copy cat. That kind of impact! That's why I still remember this scent. I am not sure about current batch tho

@Williamsmell I also got Armaf Milestone recently and I can say that it is better especially when we are comparing it with these latest batch of reformulated Unforgivable Sean John. Armaf CDN Milestone is more of a brighter and creamier version while Unforgivable Sean John is darker, john varvatos vintage + coke vanilla version. Never tried Creed MI though. Armaf CDN Milestone also has better performance than USJ.

If you own millésime impérial get this for your everyday wear. This has a nice boozy note very cool fresh fragrance it’s not really a copy of Mille it has a rum opening then gives u slight Mille vibes but different enough to own both for sure! U have to spray more sprays because it’s an edt but this is by far better than Armaf nasty milestone. Diddy Water is definitely a banger hands down💯 classic. FREE DIDDY!

Found this 1oz bottle in stine mart not too shabby at all great smelling scent for summer and spring and maybe fall if you live in a warmer place. This scent opened up very fruity and boozy on my skin and dried down to sweet masculine rum scent. I like it a lot! Never smelled the creed it’s suppose to be cloning but If it smells like this and performs about the same hey I’ll take this bottle. Scent 7/10

Great Date Night Fragrance. Very Similar To Armafs “Milestone”. Less Fruity, More Masculine On Drydown. Definitely Need 6-8 Sprays For A Compliment Arms Length. It’s Unfortunate About Diddy, But You Get Karma. I Will Buy A Few Bottles, And Hold Them. They May Become A Collectors Item. 8/10 On Scent 6/10 Projection I Recommend Buying It For The Price, Just Do Not Tell Anyone What You Are Wearing lol.

This stuff smells good. I'm on my first bottle and I love it. It doesn't last that long, but to be honest I only wear it when I go out dinner or some occasion. It usually last me the whole time, I'm usually somewhere no more than 3 hours anyway so it gets the job done. This is one of my favorites to be honest. I love the smell at the opening. I get a melon salty citrus smell

I really enjoy this one. To be honest I believe that this doesn't come even close to smelling like Creed MI, it like Sprite with a bit of tangerine. I would say it is closer to Maajir legacy by lattafa than it is to Creed MI. Only issue is projection and longevity. this should have been stronger

Probably the best celebrity fragrance I can think of imo. Only problem with this is longevity. I get around 3-4 hours. To me it’s an intimate scent, so I like to wear this on those warm summer date nights while wearing a button up or polo. Always receive a compliment or two when I wear it. 👌🏾

So this is the fragrance that makes diddy pull all the underage gi- I mean the girls that are old enough all jokes aside this is soooo good im almost out and im sad but this fragrance only lasts like 8 seconds sooo i dont recommend it if you long strong and long lasting fragrances

I love this fragrance! I think for me this is so fresh, soapy, not like soap but fresh from a shower smell. This is so amazing, I don't have any problem in the reformulated version, it's smells great. And the price oh men! So affordable. Definitely my top 10 freshies! Worth a try.

This used to be one my all time favorite signature scent. But it's now reformulated that it's impossible to find the real thing. Don't bother picking up a new bottle. If, however, you find a body spray, it may be worth it, because sprays project good on skin for some people!

This stuff is fantastic... I've had it for almost a year now and let it sit for a bit and this stuff has projection and staying power... it didn't used to have this much. Citrus and Lavender, great cheapie. Can't compare it to Armaf Milestone though because I don't have it.

Very sensual and chill. Definitely sits close to the skin, and I don’t mind. Projection isn’t great, but longevity is. I wear this on skin as I think it was meant to be, and it lasts all day. It has such an understated and wonderful sexy vibe. I love it.

Yes it is Unforgivable how Sean ripped off Millesime Imperial. But hey, Im not Creed. And its good to have this wonderful scent at an affordable price. Creed is smoother, but its 400 dollars. They are very hard to tell apart.

Funny how the site owners wanna protect the Trump colognes from unsavory comments about him, but not the Diddy colognes. Not at all surprising though, given their ties. To be clear, I love this cologne, but F Diddy.

Fresh, clean, fruity, soapy, unforgivable but not unforgettable. Nothing appealing stands out for this fragrance and it just takes up space. Go for Love & Luck instead.

the scent is a 9/10 but its really weak! 10 sprays lasts between 25-40 minutes. An Edp version with better longevity would make this a heavy hitter.

I haven't smelled this recently so I am reviewing the Sean John Unforgivable from like 10-12 years ago.. 2 words: Unforgettable Irresistible

This is my all time favorite scent for my hubby. I call it the hoe magnet. lol It is sweet but very clean and fresh. Just good.

Great fragrance, it really pairs well when applied on baby oil. This is my go to scent for freak offs👍🏼

First bought this once back in 07ish. I always liked it in the fall and winter. Had great longevity.

I bought SJ Unforgivable because a lot of people say its similar to Creed MI. I love MI and use it pretty much as a daily during summer. Was hoping for Unforgivable to be that close indeed so I would have a cheaper daily and use MI for the more special occasions. Unfortunately I have to say that I don't agree at all. Unforgivable has a warmer citrus scent and the opening is way different compared to MI (I own batch CM3318K01). To my nose it's much more like Versace Eros Flame. Same mandarin note. The dry down comes closer to MI but still has the warmer citrus note coming through with sandalwood and tonkabeen. I miss the distinctive melon/salty notes of MI completely in Unforgivable. I even think its more suitable for fall instead of spring/summer. Citrus notes are well noticeable for the first hour. Projection is quite poor so dries down to skin scent in about 2 hours. Not very good for the purpose I bought it but still a nice fragrance. Especially for its price. Comparable to Creed MI? Definitely not. Only dry down comes a bit close and if you smell both of them from the spraying cap it's close. While wearing SJ Unforgivable it's much closer to Versace Eros Flame. 7.5/10 overall

#192 in my "Tour de Fragrance" He's Forgiven Okay, I was prepared to hate this, but I don't. I assume, perhaps unfairly, that celebrity fragrances will be watered down crap. That's been true of 50 Cent "Power", everything with Antonio Banderas' name on it, true of all but one of the "Cristiano Ronaldo" line, one "Michael Jordan" scent that isn't worthless. But if "Unforgivable" were under $35 I'd call it a safe blind buy. True, there is nothing new here, but everything is likeable. Puts me in mind of Kenneth Cole Black, with a touch of barbershop, just enough to be masculine. Has better performance than anything Cole makes, but it's just okay. It does have a nice opening. Skin scent in about an hour and a half, which isn't bad in this category. It will get you to lunch before you'll want to reapply. I have many scents like this already, so I won't be buying it any time soon. But a bottle could be in my future.

This is a review of the Jacavi version (new version) from Miami FL. First, I'll say I love the Millisme Imperial DNA. It's vintage formula is a top 5 fragrance for me and a masterpiece IMO. This is a clone of Millisme Impérial. Unforgivable starts off with so much promise. The opening is AMAZING and has an effervescent champagne quality. 🍾 Unfortunately, the fun ends after the opening. The scent doesn't last or project and once you inevitably spray more it starts to feel very synthetic. This is a textbook example of a fragrance that was designed to lure you into buying a bottle based on the opening alone, while not providing a good experience beyond that. You are better off buying milestone by armaf as that captures the millisime Imperial experience better than this although this has one of the best openings of any fragrance. This behaves like like an edc and the drydown is synthetic.

I tend to resist fragrances named after personalities. I've been left with the impression that these fragrances are put out by personalities as a way to promote themselves and for fragrance companies to stir up some sales based on name recognition and not the fragrance itself. However, I've read enough positive things about Unforgiveable that I risked a blind buy as it is not all that expensive and I'm glad I did. This is a really good warm weather citrus fragrance. Slightly sweet, the various citrus notes really give this fragrance a interesting scent profile. It is not fleeting and for me lingers longer than most citrus heavy fragrances. As it dries down there is a very slight hint of rum that helps smooth this fragrance out. While it can be used in active wear I find it better suited to casual interactions, both recreational and business.

Smells like a dude in his 30's that got his shit together. He ain't a millionaire yet, but he's making moves. Fresh scent but not in the conventional sense of the word (not "aquatic" fresh). The citrus is predominant here, but it's juicy and kinda mysterious actually. It's a cool way of using citrus, as most people if asked what word comes to mind when thinking about citric notes in a frag would probably say something like "bright" or "open". Versatile, i can see this being used as a date night scent if you're tired of sweet frags for that purpose. Definetly a pleaser and compliment pulling scent. The performance though, not that great. Doesn't project much and becomes a skin scent after the first hour or so and i do feel it does need the heat to make an appearance, so definetly summer time use. As for the scent itself, it's delicious!

Excellent fragrance from a most heinous man with terrible performance, dude. Sorry, I'm on a B&T ting today. 9/10 for the scent, 0/10 for Piddly Diddler, 1/10 for the blink and it's gone performance. This is one of those fragrances I'd love a clone house to get hold of and actually make it last a few hours. It's really, really nice but it has the longevity of those modern paper straws. I couldn't recommend it to anyone, even though I adore the fragrance itself. The connection to Pumpy Doodle and the fact it's gone within an hour just ain't worth the money. Get a good clone of Milliseme Imperiale and you're close to this. I actually prefer this to the Creed offering, it just has way too many flaws.

I've owned this fragrance for a few years now, but I bought it before I was very into scents and fragrances like I am today. That being said, still love this one. Smells gorgeous off the top and has a beautiful warm soft base of ambery woods. Obviously after having smelt a lot of other scents, I realize this lacks a lot of performance, but for the price it's almost expected. I get a good 1-2 hours of moderate projection, then it is a skin scent for a few more hours. But it does the job when you are quickly stepping out of the house on a nice day out, or going to the gym, or doing a little shopping trip. Nostalgic scent for many, smells much more expensive than it is

Fresh citrus is the opening of this fragrances. It is a great opening with sweet citruses more likely like orange and grapefruit as the main notes. This why it is very unique in term of opening despite of this fragrance known as a clone of one of the niche fragrance. In the dry down I found iris note as the main note and at the end, sandalwood scent will come as a star alongside with some sweet citruses. Seductive and sexy opening, it was a better night time fragrances for me. This fragrance is the best sweet citruses soft fragrant so far. Longevity: 6 hours silage: 3 hours

When I purchased this I was so excited to smell it because the more breakdown looked awesome.. Truth be told,I like it a lot just don’t love it.. This is a very nice year round fragrance.. The first 30 minutes is the best part of this fragrance.. you get a nice citrus slightly boozy essence to it.. The dry down is kinda boring in my opinion.. This doesn’t last long at all so if you end up liking this you might want to buy a travel atomizer to take with you.. I see this fragrance as very versatile so that’s a plus.. I would like to see an EDP concentration.. Rating 7.8/10

This is not the exact clones of MI Opening is sharpy orange than feel synthetic but not bad unlike MI that in the way of fruitiness the orange still in there until the drydown so the projection is not smell like MI you can distinguish from MI easily if you know MI before But the dry down is very similar to MI However it's not project at all in drydown and the last the same thing of both is The poor performance after they are reformulated This is good fragrance in it's own way when compare to the price only 30USD
