Duo Des Fleurs

Ripe white floral and white rose top notes. Its a deep journey into the heart of the flowers. Very mysterious and bright at the same time and the quality shines through. This one has a beautiful metamorphosis from start to end. This fragrance is suitable mostly for women but I suppose a man can pull it off, depending on circumstances. People who don't like white florals should test it first. Suitable for a girl in any age group. leaves quite a nice scent bubble. It reminds me of a picture from somewhere in memory of a seaside setting and a rocky cliff with a stone seat looking down at the Mediterranean waves. A small but thick jasmine wine growing behind the seat and at the floor a single white rose looks up at the jasmine bush. But strangely the setting is in India next to a temple. Very confusing but it's true. Its a feel good and 'I Like to be somewhat alone with my happiness sort of' fragrance. : )

An entanglement of lush jasmine and rose that tells a hundred different romantic stories and paints a hundred more exotic tableaus. I'm partial to a good rainy night floral medley and Senyokô's Duo des Fleurs ticks that box. This one starts off soft and intimate with the florals then amplifies with musk and sandalwood and the mitti attar serves as an atmospheric backdrop finishing off this beautiful perfume.

Probably one of the best jasmine notes I have ever smelled---very lush and wet. Similar in feeling to Do Son but admittedly a lot better (and I like Do Son). A little dirt-ish but in a very realistic sitting in a garden way.

I am coming at this constructively. I have viewed this perfume. I have worn it a few times. But what has been rendered is a disappointing floral fragrance. The concepts of all the fragrances in the Senyokô line are extremely compelling artistic recollections, thought provoking and overall sobering. Personable, relatable, like the drafts of a journal or diary. I must give credit to Senyokô's concept writing here as they don't rely on a rushed or attention seeking approach to the subject matter like trying to capture the smell of a city, nation or an era which feels to me sometimes shallow, ambiguous and stereotyping. To me this approach must be experienced, studied seriously and I feel Senyôko has done their research quite sincerely. I find the worst recollections of location in perfume when someone has visited a place trivially maybe on vacation or for personal reasons which usually gilds the experience to be something quite superficial thus making the related perfume superficial. What is something specific that lives on with you from that trip? What did you learn or unlearn from speaking or arguing with a local? Are you willing to admit you are ignorant to someone else's culture? I find the worst recollections of eras to come from the fetish that only the best things existed in the past, which result in creations with the gimmicky energy kindred of a medieval fair. A well-informed and unbiased admiration of the past must be struck. The perfume of the dreaded "good-ol'-days" doesn't need to be brought back as the exact same thing. I urge, reinvent perfume. Reinvent perfume that is merely informed by its past as its past would've preferred it's offspring not grow up to become itself. By failing to acknowledge or hiding an era's evil, once discovered an era's evil can have stronger influence than an era's good. Duo des Fleurs is an olfactory homage to French romantic opera and ballet composer Clément Philibert Léo Delibes and his well-known opera piece Lakmé. In Lakmé the globally known Duo des Fleurs or "Flower Duet" is performed in the first act by the one who plays Lakmé the daughter of a brahmin priest and her handmaid Mallika. In the scene both are in the process of gathering, lotuses, roses and jasmines by the riverbanks to prepare for a bath in the river. I rate the Senyokô like Amouage or Zoologist as one of the reference brands for excellent conceptual briefs. However wearing the Senyokô perfumes have unfortunately not pleased me. Duo des Fleurs begins as a cheap, diluted and watery pink floral that is vague and juvenile. A woman's freshie, floral, bargain bin designer, maybe somewhat missing the screechy sweetness of those but still eliciting some uninspired aptitude that leave it slightly emotionless and mass appealing. A very curious sandalwood oil tinctured in a clay urn or "mitti attar" oil is rendered completely shy lacking any creamy, woody or starchy, sandalwood presence but still trying its best to add something to the fragrance. This note tries to tie together the inspiration of British occupied India but does not smell of a convincing story since a pink, underdone, floral, thing dominates . The mitti note struggles to commit to anything interesting development-wise other than to add a dusty, white, dry-earth facet reminiscent of clay that can easily have been achieved by geosmin, vetiver, patchouli, orris butter, birch tar or violets. It is almost imperceptible under the sweetness of the watery, floral, jasmine and rose affair. I was mostly interested in Duo des Fleurs for the mitti attar note wanting to experience the advertised scent of sandalwood tinctured in clay but the inclusion of such an essence is anti-climactic at best. And rose and jasmine two of my favorite flowers are given no body or convincing presence in this. Duo des Fleurs stagnates into a forcibly floral vagueness that to me doesn't resemble real roses or jasmines but rather an indifferent, pink, fleshy, sweetness. With the exception of the mitti attar it indeed smells synthetic and unnatural. I feel overpriced. And as Duo des Fleurs performs it adopts a kind of piercing quality as a result of its freshness that leaves me very confused by it. How is it fresh but also cloying? It is unisex, feminine leaning with polite sillage and substantial longevity. Though Duo des Fleurs doesn't interest me as a fragrance, I feel like it would be a somewhat likable signature worthy floral freshie. It has an unsuspecting, light, earthiness I personally found interesting, fit for any fragrance enthusiast who is open-minded. It is mostly inoffensive and approachable while still being peculiar. So a weak "like". Do try Duo des Fleurs out for yourself! 6.5/10

Im so impressed that honey is not listed here. To me is smells like honey and pollen from flower. Beautiful unique realistic honey pollen floral fragrance, I also detect some green notes. I initially tried it back in fall and really enjoyed it but right now in spring when seasonal allergies are so high this seams suffocating.

I think I got a different sample to the reviews . I’m a white flower lover and this is absolutely disgusting !! It actually stinks and I had to wash it off immediately . Definite no from me !

un bel florealino per chi di bianco si veste, mi viene in mente il giorno della comunione, colombe in volo una domenica di primavera, fuori dalla chiesa con le campane a festa, il colore dei confetti (ma qui non c'è zucchero però, niente maltòlo o etilmaltòlo) . Anche una crema bianca, body lotion, morbida e buona, come la schiuma bianca in "Lo Shampoo " di Giorgio Gaber. È anche molto muschiato, senza arrivare ad essere fecale anzi, si tiene a distanza di sicurezza e resta puro come un giglio bianco, fiore angelico che pure possiede la sua brava quota di indolo, scatolo e bla bla vari. Anzi più passa il tempo e più si avverte il muschio. Al punto che va a possedere quel giusto ché di retro, 'sta fragranza!

jasmine and rose reflected on a stream of crystalline and fresh river water. The rose gives the impression of a metallic shimmering rose oxide. The jasmine is paradoxical with a translucent transparency yet still has a mild rich indolic character. Then a uniquely watery, herbal, earthy, ozonic background- like dousing the flowers in cool water from a clay pot, water slightly infused with mint. I find it very nice but overall I can't say it really feels entirely cohesive to me. Something a bit disjointed

I'm a white floral lover, so when I read about it I was very excited to smell it. Long story short: I hated it. It smells powdery, old and dirty.

Literally breath-taking. one of the best Jasmine/Rose combos I've ever experienced. If anyone has a bottle for sale, please PM me.

I don’t know if I got the wrong sample from scent room or what but this smells like a wet stubbed out cigarette?? Just me??
